Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 764: Chapter 764: Give More

”Heh, so you’ve come swaggering in, huh?” Xiao Yi said with a faint smile.

He just hadn’t expected the deaths of the Fifth Guardian and Commander Situ to reach this place so quickly.

After all, this was merely a border town.

As for the words of the old man before him, Xiao Yi treated them as a joke.

Because it was clear that although the old man’s speech was laced with ridicule and jest, there was no malice in it.

The old man’s expression suddenly turned stern as he said, ”Deacon Xiao Yi, my previous words were just in jest.”

”But, I didn’t lie to you.”

”Your life is now of extreme interest even to an Extreme Realm Expert.”

”Within the Wind Saint Empire, the moment you reveal yourself, you will immediately become the target of all.”

”I know,” Xiao Yi nodded, ”Thank you, Chief Steward, for the reminder.”

”However, the Chief Steward has yet to tell me what exactly he called me here for.”

The old man nodded, saying, ”The reason I called you here is naturally to warn you.”

”Another matter is to take your Token.”

”How come?” Xiao Yi asked, puzzled, but he still took out the Token.

The old man took the Token and emitted a burst of Primordial Power.

After a short while, he returned the Token to Xiao Yi.

The old man said in a somber tone, ”The Token now bears my Prohibition. It’s not that I am extremely powerful, but this Prohibition represents my personal mark.”

”Later on, I will make a record in your information.”

”From now on, whenever you hand over tasks at any Asura Hall, your identity information will be classified as confidential.”

”Only the Sub Hall Master or higher can access your identity information.”

”Oh?” Xiao Yi’s face showed a hint of joy.

In this way, no matter which Asura Hall Branch Hall he went to hand over tasks, his identity would not be exposed, and he could avoid a lot of trouble.

The old man chuckled lightly and said, ”Deacon Xiao Yi, I still have to remind you of one thing.”

”Our Asura Hall has its own rules. For a million years, we have prohibited involvement in the power struggles of all parties.”

”That is an absolute ironclad rule.”

”Your grievances with the Wind Saint Empire will be treated as a private vendetta between you.”

”We will not side with either party.”

”I know,” Xiao Yi nodded.

He understood what the Chief Steward meant.

Asura Hall would not get involved in their grievances, even if he, Xiao Yi, went to another Asura Hall Branch Hall, no one there would help him.

Although his identity information on the Token had been classified as confidential.

Elsewhere, Xiao Yi would still need to rely on his own abilities to avoid the pursuit of the Wind Saint Empire.

Whether he could handle it or not depended entirely on Xiao Yi himself.

However, Xiao Yi was slightly puzzled.

For Asura Hall, this was non-interference.

But for the Chief Steward before him, this amounted to harboring him.

After all, he had concealed Xiao Yi’s identity.

”I don’t understand the Chief Steward’s meaning,” Xiao Yi said earnestly.

”The Wind Saint Empire is the most formidable entity within this entire Wind Saint Territory.”

”By helping me this way, are you not afraid of offending the Wind Saint Empire?”

”The Chief Steward’s actions are akin to harboring a fugitive wanted by the Wind Saint Empire.”

Xiao Yi did not beat around the bush; instead, he directly expressed his doubts.

The old man smiled and said, ”Offend? What is there to fear?”

Indeed, as a Chief Steward of the Asura Hall, ordinary people wouldn’t dare to act against him.

But regardless, should the powerhouses of the Wind Saint Empire learn of this, the Chief Steward would still face a lot of trouble.

What Xiao Yi meant was...

”I have no relations nor any acquaintance with the Chief Steward, why would the Chief Steward bother with these troubles?” Xiao Yi asked in a deep voice.

”Moreover, perhaps, I am really as described in the wanted order of the Wind Saint Empire.”

”A murderer, a killer without end, a person of grievous sin.”

The elder smiled faintly and said, ”Deacon Xiao Yi, you don’t seem like a greenhorn who is new to the world, so how come you’re asking such a question?”

”Oh?” Xiao Yi showed a puzzled expression.

The elder laughed and said, ”A murderer, a killer without end? A person of grievous sin? Or perhaps, the mistake lies with you, Deacon Xiao Yi?”

”Haha, in this world, who can clearly define these things?”

”This world is very dangerous, I think there is no need for this old man to explain further; every day, every moment, killings occur, and Martial Artists lose their lives.”

”Who can clearly distinguish right from wrong? Who can say that being a murderer is wrong?”

”In this world, the only thing that can be openly discussed is strength.”

”If your strength is strong, then you are right; if your strength is weak, even right becomes wrong; of course, those with weak strength are likely to be dead before others discuss right and wrong, so what is the meaning of right and wrong then?”

”Perhaps, one could differentiate between friends or enemies.”

”What a friend does is right; what an enemy does is wrong.”

”It’s unclear, and difficult to explain...”

The elder was speaking when he shook his head and stopped.

”Haha.” The elder gave a self-mocking smile, ”Deacon Xiao Yi, to be able to defeat three Extreme Realm Experts of the Heavenly Extreme Realm single-handedly.”

”It proves that your strength, Deacon Xiao Yi, is not below mine; for me to preach to you like this is indeed presumptuous.”

”The Chief Steward is too serious.” Xiao Yi shook his head.

The elder waved his hand and said, ”Here in Wind Control City, it’s a border city.”

”Often there will be Asura Warriors from other Kingdoms entering, and this old man is used to lecturing.”

”Often?” Xiao Yi raised his eyebrows.

”Yes.” The elder nodded his head, then said with a puzzled tone, ”Isn’t Deacon Xiao Yi here for experience in the Wind Saint Empire?”

”The Wind Saint Empire, its territory, is dozens of times larger than that of an ordinary Kingdom.”

”Beyond the territory, lie the Three Great Dangerous Lands.”

”Within the Wind Saint Territory, it is common for Martial Artists from other Kingdoms to come to the Wind Saint Empire, and thereafter pass through here into the Three Great Dangerous Lands for experience.”

”Of course, if they are Asura Warriors from the Asura Hall Branch Hall of another Kingdom, they usually pass through here.”

”This old man then also takes the opportunity to give some guidance.”

”The Three Great Dangerous Lands.” Xiao Yi nodded.

”Another point,” the elder smiled and said, ”Our Asura Hall is the one with the least number of people among the Ancient Eight Halls.”

”Asura Warriors are already few in number; this old man helps where he can.”

”The most important thing is...”

The elder’s words paused for a moment, and he looked directly at Xiao Yi, ”This old man has lived for most of his life and seen countless people.”

”I believe, Deacon Xiao Yi, you are not the kind of person as described in the wanted order.”

”Heh.” Xiao Yi gave a faint smile.

”Today, I am thankful for the Chief Steward’s help. If there is nothing else, I shall take my leave.”

”Mm.” The elder nodded his head, took out a Qiankun Bag, and said, ”This is your reward for completing the Asura Hall’s task.”

”Additionally, with my authority, I’ve given a bit more as a good deed to make this connection.”

Xiao Yi nodded, took the Qiankun Bag, ”Thank you, Chief Steward.”

”I take my leave.”

Xiao Yi bowed his hands together and turned to leave.

After leaving the Asura Hall, Xiao Yi found a corner and changed into a wide robe.

The robe was just ordinary clothing, but it was wide enough to cover his figure and face.

Once everything was prepared, Xiao Yi left Wind Control City and went on his way.

Shortly after leaving Wind Control City, Xiao Yi took out the Qiankun Bag, sensed it for a moment, and his face changed immediately.

The items inside the reward were not just a little bit more but rather ten times more than the original reward.
