Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 770: Chapter 770: Walking into a Trap?

Boom...

A surging flame swept across.

The dozens of corpses around were completely engulfed by the Fire Sea.

Xiao Yi’s face was cold and indifferent as he flew away, controlling the air.

Two hours before, he had chanced upon six Wind Saint Guards led by the fourth commander from the Wind Saint Empire.

The moment the two sides met, the battle erupted instantly.

And without a doubt, all those men were now dead.

This fourth commander was significantly stronger than the Fifth Guardian.

But Xiao Yi had also made a breakthrough in his cultivation and killed this person with a Formation and the Wind Saint Pot.

To be precise, it was the Wind Evil inside the Wind Saint Pot.

In fact, within Xiao Yi’s Small World, there were two Poison Evils.

Poison Evil and Wind Evil were creatures of the same level.

However, this Wind Evil was cultivated from a thousand kinds of Gang Wind, so its power was considerably stronger than that of a typical Wind Evil.

Naturally, this Wind Evil was also stronger than those two Poison Evils.

The most important factor was the presence of the Wind Saint Pot, a treasure that greatly amplified the Wind Attribute, significantly increasing the power of this Wind Evil.

Regardless, such external items were only secondary; one’s own Martial Arts Cultivation was of paramount importance.

On this long road of Martial Arts Dao, Xiao Yi didn’t know whether he had already walked more than half.

The only thing Xiao Yi knew was that the end of the road of Martial Arts Dao was still far out of reach.

Moreover, this long road was fraught with difficulties and bristling with thorns.

But so far, Xiao Yi had never been afraid, had never backed down.

He had his reasons why he had to keep going, had to keep moving forward.

In this cruel, dangerous, yet incredibly fascinating world, everything was predicated on the word ”strength.”

”I’m curious to see what kind of powerful figures the Wind Saint Empire will send next to continue their pursuit of me,” Xiao Yi thought grimly as he sped through the high skies.

Come to think of it, the grudge with the Wind Saint Empire had its roots in the incident with the Fengxu Kingdom.

He had killed the Sovereign of the Tyrant Saber Sect and the Gale Kingdom Lord.

The Gale Dominator Blade was a sect founded by a Grand Guardian of the Wind Saint Empire.

By killing the Sovereign of the Tyrant Saber Sect and many strong members of the Gale Dominator Blade; first Yin Wuchang, then the Sixth Guardian, followed by the Fourth Guardian, Commander Situ, and so on.

The pursuit by the Wind Saint Empire was relentless.

They even issued a wanted notice with tempting rewards, making him a target for everyone, leading to a bloody path.

The reason the Sovereign of the Tyrant Saber Sect and the Gale Kingdom Lord were dead set on targeting the Fengxu Kingdom was surely due to the Ancient Secret Realm of the Fengxu Kingdom.

Thinking about it now, the Gale Kingdom probably didn’t have the capability or confidence to meddle with the Ancient Secret Realm.

If he wasn’t mistaken, it was the Wind Saint Empire that truly sought to control the Fengxu Secret Realm.

Xiao Yi thought this as he flew swiftly through the air.

The Sovereign of the Tyrant Saber Sect was merely an Earth Extreme Peak Martial Artist; killing him wouldn’t be enough to have a Heavenly Extreme Realm Sixth Guardian hot on his heels.

The most likely reason was that the Wind Saint Empire already knew the inheritance and treasures that lay within the Fengxu Secret Realm were now in his possession, Xiao Yi.

This was not hard to guess.

After all, he had but the Earth Extreme Fourth Layer Cultivation outside Wind Returning City back then.

Yet, he possessed the power to slay two Earth Extreme Peak Martial Artists.

It was easy to deduce that he bore treasures and held exceptional trump cards.

And since he fought for the Fengxu Kingdom at the time, and with the capabilities of the Wind Saint Empire, it would have been easy to find out that Xiao Yi had entered the Fengxu Secret Realm.

Various signs were enough for the Wind Saint Empire to conclude that Xiao Yi had acquired the inheritance and treasures within the Fengxu Secret Realm and had set their sights on him.

Of course, Xiao Yi indeed had obtained the inheritance of the Fengxu Secret Realm.

The Wind Saint Empire had guessed right.

However, what they didn’t know was that Xiao Yi could kill the Gale Kingdom Lord and the Sovereign of the Tyrant Saber Sect thanks to the burst of power from his Ice Pattern and the Soul Master’s Technique.

This ignorance led to the demise of the powerful individuals they sent after Xiao Yi, one after another.

High in the sky, Xiao Yi was like a shooting star; in a single breath, he had traversed a thousand meters, his speed astonishingly fast.

A chilling killing intent coalesced in his eyes.

If they wanted to kill him, then they should be prepared to be killed in return.

”In about two more days, I should reach the Wind Saint Empire Capital,” Xiao Yi thought secretly to himself.

Two days had passed in the blink of an eye.

During this time, Xiao Yi deliberately took a detour.

Since he had encountered the Wind Saint Guard led by the Fourth Guardian two days ago,

it proved that the Wind Saint Empire Capital would continue to send strong pursuers to kill him.

Out of caution, he had specifically taken a longer route.

It was this caution that inadvertently allowed him to avoid a significant crisis.

At this moment, he had arrived at the gates of the Wind Saint Empire Capital.

Currently a wanted man, he certainly wouldn’t enter directly.

With a flash, his figure silently infiltrated the Royal Capital.

...

Elsewhere, at the site where Xiao Yi fought with the Fourth Guardian two days earlier,

an old man and a team of Wind Saint Guards suddenly appeared.

Several Wind Saint Guards quickly sensed and checked their surroundings, then shook their heads.

”There are no traces of battle here, it shouldn’t be this place.”

”It seems we have come to the wrong place.”

The Wind Saint Guards said with furrowed brows.

”No,” the old man said sternly, ”Do you think my perception could be wrong?”

”That young man’s stealth techniques are indeed formidable, not something to be taken lightly.”

”However, to deceive my perception is far beyond his capabilities.”

The faces of the Wind Saint Guards became stern, and they quickly responded, ”Of course, with the Grand Guardian’s skills, that young man, no matter how capable, cannot deceive the Grand Guardian.”

The Grand Guardian?

This old man turned out to be the Grand Guardian of the Wind Saint Empire.

One of the most famous and formidable figures in the entire Wind Saint Territory.

Rumors had it that in the Wind Saint Empire, his power was second only to the Wind Saint Emperor.

Such a person was personally taking action to pursue Xiao Yi.

It was clear how intense the Wind Saint Empire’s intent to kill Xiao Yi was.

The old man slowly moved forward a few steps, then squatted down to take a closer look.

”Remarkable,” the old man’s eyes flashed a sharp light, ”No aura left, not a trace remaining; the signs of battle, all have been erased.”

”Such a skillful technique.”

”Were it not for the fact that I control far more Heaven and Earth Martial Arts Power than him, I would have been unable to trace the presence of Martial Arts Power here and track him to this place.”

The old man’s words were filled with admiration.

But after a moment, that sliver of admiration turned into boundless killing intent.

”This young man has such abilities at his age, and with his extraordinary caution and exceptional mind.”

”Such a supreme genius, if he could serve the Wind Saint Empire, it would indeed be fortuitous.”

”Alas...” The old man shook his head.

”Grand Guardian, what is regrettable?” asked the Wind Saint Guard Commander.

This team of Wind Saint Guards was also accompanied by a commander.

”If he does not serve us, then we must eradicate him root and stem,” the old man said in a deep voice.

”Hm?” In the next second, the old man continued to intensely scrutinize the surroundings when suddenly his expression changed drastically.

”Judging by the traces of Martial Arts Power here, the young man’s direction of travel is actually towards...”

”Which way did that little thief go?” asked the Wind Saint Guard Commander, ”This little thief is utterly vicious; we must tear his body into a thousand pieces.”

”The Royal Capital,” replied the old man, his eyes narrowing.

”The Royal Capital? How is that possible?” exclaimed the Wind Saint Guard Commander in shock.

”Grand Guardian, we have come all the way from the Royal Capital. If he was heading to the Royal Capital, we should have encountered him already.”

The old man sneered, ”This young man is clever and cautious; he has taken a detour.”

”Let’s go, back to the Royal Capital.”

”This young man dares to go to the Royal Capital, he’s simply walking into the net.”

...

Third update.
