Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Fang Susu looked down at the two wooden boxes filled with gold and silver treasures, and said to Garuno: ”Is this all?”

”My God, you don’t believe me, I’m the most trustworthy knight in our country, and we never lie. Besides, my ship is about to sink; I can’t let my treasures sink into the sea.”

Fang Susu replied, ”Very well, then bring your treasures over here. I advise you not to play any tricks, or my crew will chop you into pieces and throw you to the fish in a minute.”

”Oh, God, esteemed Miss Fang, how foolish would I be to play such damn small tricks in front of a deity who can throw cannonballs with bare hands.”

”Rest assured, I’m not that foolish.”

Hearing this, Fang Susu said, ”I hope you really aren’t that foolish.”

With that, Fang Susu waved her hand and immediately said, ”Lower the gangplank and let them over.”

Upon hearing this, the ship immediately lowered the gangplank, and let Garuno come over, who then led his men over at once.

At this, Fang Susu waved her hand, and her crew immediately rushed up and tied up Garuno in no time.

Garuno didn’t dare to resist at all throughout the process and acted very honestly, while Fang Susu looked at Garuno and said, ”Have your people come over too.”

Garuno heard this and said, ”Esteemed Miss Fang, I have many people on this ship, hope you are prepared.”

Fang Susu looked at the opponent’s much smaller ship and said, ”How many people can there be? We can fit them.”

Garuno said, ”That’s good.”

Immediately after, Garuno shouted, ”Everyone come out.”

Following these words, the cabin door opened, and a group of disheveled people were brought in, each bound together like slaves.

Many of these people had vacant eyes, seemingly unable to adapt to the world in front of them due to being locked up too long.

Some had strong aversion to sunlight, deliberately dodging as the sun blinded them, clearly from not seeing daylight for a long time.

Seeing these people, Fang Susu was immediately angry and said: ”Garuno, you’re smuggling slaves!”

”Are you tired of living!”

As she spoke, Fang Susu drew her treasure sword and placed it against Garuno’s neck, causing him to kneel down in fright saying, ”Injustice, Miss Fang, I am not smuggling slaves.”

Fang Susu said, ”Then what’s the deal with these people?”

Garuno replied, ”These, these are merchants and fishermen I kidnapped from fishing boats.”

Fang Susu heard this and said, ”Who are you kidding? I can understand kidnapping merchants for ransom, but why kidnap fishermen? They have no money!”

Upon hearing this, Garuno said, ”Miss Fang, I was forced, if I don’t capture enough slaves, the poison they gave me will take effect, and I will die. I don’t want to meet God so soon!”

Upon hearing Garuno’s words, Fang Susu furrowed her brow and said, ”Poison? Who poisoned you?”

Garuno said, ”I... I don’t know, it was a group of black-robed people.”

Upon hearing this, Fang Susu said, ”Tell us the details.”

At this point, Chen Jie was also sitting by and listening.

Garuno immediately answered, ”It happened half a month ago, we were sailing normally at sea when we encountered a ship we had never seen before. We originally intended to plunder it.”

”Initially, when we approached, the other side didn’t respond. Until we boarded their ship did we realize it was loaded with slaves.”

Not knowing where these slaves were being transported to, I sensed something was wrong and prepared to leave that ship, but before we could, a group of black-robed people suddenly appeared. Their leader was incredibly powerful and subdued us all with a wave of his hand.

They poisoned us and told us we must prepare three hundred live people for them within half a month, or the poison will kill us.

After they poisoned us, they sailed away, but after we were released every night we felt haunted by Evil Ghosts, fearing they would claim our lives, so we decided to follow the black-robed people’s orders and prepare enough live people for them.

However, after sailing for more than ten days, we barely gathered about one hundred and twenty people, far short of the three hundred required.

With half a month almost up, fearing we couldn’t complete the task, we decided to attack merchant ships, which is how we got into trouble with Miss Fang.

”So, please spare us, Miss Fang, we were truly desperate, and definitely did not intentionally attack you.”

Upon hearing this, Fang Susu was stunned for a moment, then looked at Chen Jie and said, ”Brother Chen, what do you think?”

Fang Susu was always quite stubborn. Though Chen Jie called her father Fang Guozhen ’Third Brother,’ she refused to call herself ’Fourth Uncle,’ indicating a rebellious spirit in this woman.

However, Chen Jie didn’t mind, after all, by that seniority, he indeed had nephews all over the place!

Thinking this, Chen Jie spoke, ”Do you know what they want so many people for?”

Garuno fell silent, and after a long pause said, ”I’m not sure, but I heard from some pirates who were also threatened by the black-robed people that they seemed to plan on fishing a dragon! These are all sacrifices.”

Hmm?

”Fishing a dragon?”

Chen Jie was completely stunned. Can these people really be saying they’re going to fish a dragon like I’m imagining?

Garuno nodded gently, ”Yes, fishing a dragon. Doesn’t it sound absurd, but it seems it’s not a joke, because almost all of the thirteen great pirates are involved. Right, except for the Divine Dragon Sect people, Miss Fang, have you been isolated by other pirates?”
