Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Chen Jie responded upon hearing, ”Don’t worry, I will be extra cautious.”

Zhao Ya said, ”Yes, finish the tasks early and return soon, we’ll be waiting for you at home.”

Chen Jie nodded and said, ”Alright.”

After saying this, Chen Jie looked at the civil and military ministers of the entire Huangzhou Prefecture, and said, ”In my absence, I entrust the affairs of Huangzhou Prefecture to all of you.”

Upon hearing these words, the civil and military ministers immediately clasped their fists in acknowledgment.

At this moment, Chen Jie turned around, mounted his swift horse, while Zhang Cuishan also finished bidding farewell to the people from Wudang.

Song Yuanqiao said, ”Fifth Junior Brother, go with ease this time, we will attend to master, there’s no need to worry about daily matters.”

Zhang Cuishan responded, ”Then I can put my mind at ease regarding my elder brother.”

Yin Liting said, ”Fifth Senior Brother, safe travels, take care.”

Zhang Cuishan said, ”Sixth Junior Brother, don’t worry, this journey to the Kingdom of Siam won’t take too long, you can be assured.”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Cuishan gently nodded.

Immediately, Mo Shenggu led his swift horse over to Zhang Cuishan and said, ”This Lion’s Roar of mine is a fine steed from the Western Regions, purchased from a merchant from Da Wan. It can travel a thousand li by day and eight hundred li by night. I present it to Brother Five, hoping for your early return to reunite us brothers for a joyous drinking bout.”

Hearing Mo Shenggu’s words, Zhang Cuishan knew this Lion’s Roar was a treasured horse. The Fourth Senior Brother once tried to exchange his created Songxi thirteen moves for this precious horse but was outrightly refused by the Seventh Junior Brother. Now, he directly gifted it to him, and this sentiment was something Zhang Cuishan needed to remember.

At this point, Zhang Cuishan clasped his fists and said, ”Thank you, Seventh Junior Brother.”

By this time, Chen Jie had already leapt onto his horse and opened his mouth to say, ”Alright, there are many matters to attend to here, let’s not linger, let’s set off.”

With that, Chen Jie led the charge and dashed out first, followed closely by the Siamese trio, with Hei Ligu and Gema Tai protecting Zhao Facai on either side as they set off together.

At this moment, Fang Susu turned her horse’s head slightly, waiting for Zhang Cuishan. Seeing this, Song Yuanqiao laughed and said, ”Fifth Junior Brother, hurry up, don’t keep the beauty waiting too long.”

Hearing this, Zhang Cuishan blushed deeply and said, ”Then I’ll take my leave, Senior Brother.”

After saying this, Zhang Cuishan mounted the prized horse gifted by Mo Shenggu, the Lion’s Roar. He exchanged a glance with Fang Susu and immediately chased forward. Soon, no more than a few figures could be seen on the horizon.

Peng Yingyu said, ”Let’s disperse, they’ve gone far enough, there’s no need for us to send them off any longer.”

Upon hearing Peng Yingyu’s words, people in the field gradually dispersed, each going their separate ways. Chen Jie had already structured the organization in Huangzhou Prefecture very well. Even without Chen Jie present, the entire leadership team of Huangzhou Prefecture could handle any emergencies.

For military matters, Chen Jie established a military conference group, with decisions made by agreement among three powerful commanders and six powerful vice marshals.

Usually, only with unanimous approval can military decisions be made, wherein usually one principal commander gets two votes, a vice marshal gets one vote, and Chen Xiaohu has three votes, able to determine the direction of matters.

Of course, this was not in crisis situations. In crisis situations, the entire Huangzhou Prefecture would activate the military contingency plans set by Chen Jie in advance.

And during unexpected situations, they could handle things step by step. If still undecided, Chen Jie mentioned that the final decision could be submitted to Zhao Ya for approval.

The Cultural Management Department was similar. They also had a temporary handling institution; if any policy was undecided, a provisional leadership team composed of Chen Xiaohu, Si Xi, and Hu Weiyong would make decisions.

For further disagreement among the three, they could expand the meeting participants; for example, the six ministers of Huangzhou Prefecture could come to discuss.

If the final decision still could not be made, they could report to Chen Jie’s wife, Su Yunjin, and then discuss a credible plan.

This was how the leadership team of Huangzhou Prefecture operated in the absence of Chen Jie. Of course, if Chen Jie returned to Huangzhou Prefecture, an additional step would be to report to Chen Jie, who held a decisive vote on all affairs of Huangzhou Prefecture.

Therefore, even though Chen Jie was away from Huangzhou Prefecture for a long time, the operation of Huangzhou Prefecture would not be affected at all.

Moreover, Huangzhou Prefecture now had the great presence of Peng Yingyu guarding it on-site, and Chen Jie believed nothing unexpected would happen.

He could safely set sail for the Kingdom of Siam.

”Yah, yah, yah...”

Chen Jie rode his horse towards Quanzhou. Just after leaving Huangzhou Prefecture, he suddenly paused, as he unexpectedly saw two familiar figures on the road ahead.

Whoa~

Chen Jie pulled the reins of his horse, and at that moment, the two people opposite also pulled the reins of their horses.

At this moment, those two people directly jumped off their horses and half-kneeled on the ground before saying, ”Subordinates greet the Lord.”

Chen Jie was taken aback, looked at the two people in front of him, and couldn’t help but smile: ”Haha, rise.”

Laughing, Chen Jie dismounted, helped the person in front up, and asked, ”Is the matter settled?”

Hearing this, the leading man said, ”It’s settled, we watched Tuotuo take his own life.”

Chen Jie responded upon hearing, ”Tuotuo is dead?”

Zhang Dingbian said, ”He was dead a fortnight ago; the news should have reached the Capital by now.”

”Then why did you just return today?”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Dingbian immediately kneeled on one knee and said, ”My Lord, it was Dingbian’s own decision. I took Tuotuo’s head to pay respects to my master. This matter Hao Xiong knew nothing about. If there is punishment, please punish only me, my Lord.”

”Hey, Brother Zhang, what are you saying? When you said you were going to pay your respects to your master, I agreed. Now, even if there is punishment, we should face it together. There’s no reason for you to bear it alone.”
