Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Chapter 620: Chapter 186 What? How, how is this possible?_5

”Heh heh, once the Yelu Mansion’s men surround the Headquarters, I reckon not many will want to fight. By then, most will likely flee at the sight of trouble. We have more men, which makes us appear to be deeply concerned about Lord Yelu’s affairs. Moreover, after Nan Batian is defeated, our men can also rush in to loot more stuff, especially Nan Batian’s collections—those are incredibly valuable, you know.”

Hearing this, Qin Hu understood: to loot amidst chaos, fish in troubled waters, and even earn credit—no wonder everyone says you’re cunning, big brother.

Qin Ying said, ”You go find some people. I need to think of a strategy.”

”Yes, big brother.”

After speaking, the two immediately went out to gather their forces.

Qin Hu said, ”Third Brother, the big brother told us to find more people, but we only have so many able-bodied men in Eagle Hall—where do we find others?”

Qin Bao, squinting his eyes, said, ”There are plenty of people. Get the kitchen staff, the stable boys, the vegetable farmers, and call upon their aunts and uncles too. We can muster at least five or six hundred people.”

”Can this work? These people standing there, they don’t look like they can fight,” said Qin Hu.

Qin Bao responded, ”They don’t need to fight. They just need to stand in the back and make up the numbers. When Yelu takes a look and sees our side swarming with people, won’t that also seem like we have an overwhelming force?”

Hearing this, Qin Hu said, ”Hmm, makes sense. Then let’s also call our auntie. The old lady was just complaining yesterday that she was bored at home.”

Qin Bao said, ”She’s already eighty.”

Qin Hu said, ”Isn’t the determination not bounded by age?”

...

Qin Ying was in his room, plotting how to backstab Nan Batian—a task given to him by Yelu, and also a test from Yelu: to stab Nan Batian in the back.

Should he succeed, he would become Yelu’s new favorite. Thinking of this, a smile crept across Qin Ying’s face.

Actually, Nan Batian’s downfall had its advantages. First, he wouldn’t have to endure that bastard’s continuous and humiliating tirades anymore.

Secondly, he would get promoted. Although he wouldn’t be the Gang Leader of the Fishing Guild, having an independent status like that of White Tiger Hall was extremely good, and beyond what he had dared to dream before.

For all these reasons, what does betraying a big brother count for?

With these thoughts, suddenly there was a knock on the door from outside.

Qin Ying said, ”Come in.”

”Greetings to the Hall Master.”

The disciple greeted Qin Ying with a fist and palm salute, to which Qin Ying looked at the disciple and asked, ”What’s the matter?”

The disciple said, ”Hall Master, Mr. Tang from the Headquarters requests an audience with you!”

”Who?”

Startled, Qin Ying looked at the disciple and asked; the disciple said with a fist and palm salute, ”Tang Ziyue, Mr. Tang.”

”What’s he here for?”

Qin Ying frowned and commanded, ”Invite him in, have tea in the parlor!”

While this was going on, Tang Ziyue had arrived at Eagle Hall and noted the people coming and going.

”What is Eagle Hall preparing to do by moving so many people? What are they up to?”

Tang Ziyue frowned. At this moment, the disciple who had gone to report came back and said, ”Mr. Tang, our Hall Master invites you.”

Tang Ziyue nodded slightly and followed into the main hall, noticing even stranger circumstances as he walked in.

After looking around, Tang Ziyue arrived at the parlor where he saw Qin Ying. Qin Ying, upon seeing Tang Ziyue, laughed and said, ”What wind has blown Mr. Tang our way, ha ha ha...”

He said this with a smile, but his insincerity was faintly visible.

Tang Ziyue looked at Qin Ying and said, ”Master Qin, don’t be too polite. I was just bored and thought I’d come by and chat with you.”

Qin Ying said, ”Oh, Mr. Tang, please have a seat. Let’s chat!”

Upon hearing this, Tang Ziyue sat down and looked at Qin Ying, ”Master Qin, has the Gang Leader assigned you any major tasks recently?”

”Tasks? No, ever since the Gang Leader called me useless, he hasn’t summoned me for three or four days, nor has he planned any tasks for me!”

Tang Ziyue squinted his eyes upon hearing this and took a sip of tea, saying, ”The Gang Leader does have a foul temper, verbally abusing people at will. He indeed went too far last time with you, Master Qin.”

Qin Ying’s right hand clenched slightly upon hearing this, but he quickly relaxed, though Tang Ziyue still caught the small movement.

Tang Ziyue’s heart skipped a beat, while Qin Ying said, ”Ha ha, the Gang Leader has always been gracious to me. He scolds me hoping for my own good.”

Tang Ziyue smiled in agreement.

After chatting a bit more about trivial matters, Tang Ziyue finally said, ”Well then, Master Qin, I don’t wish to impose any further. I’ll take my leave now.”

Qin Ying frowned slightly—just a few words and he’s leaving?

Thinking this, Qin Ying said, ”Oh, let me see you out, Mr. Tang.”

”No need, no need!”

Tang Ziyue got up to leave, and as he watched him go, Qin Ying’s eyebrows knitted together. He had a foreboding feeling in his heart—not right, something was terribly wrong. Had Tang Ziyue realized something!

Thinking so, Qin Ying followed after him discreetly.

Tang Ziyue raced out of Eagle Hall and hid in an alleyway, breathing heavily.

Something was definitely wrong; there was a problem with Eagle Hall.

Without orders from the Gang Leader, they were mobilizing a major force—what were they trying to do?

Especially in such a sensitive situation, suddenly moving so many people must indicate an issue!

Realizing this, Tang Ziyue decided he had to report to Nan Batian urgently. Under these circumstances, only by preparing in advance could they deal with any unforeseen events.

Tang Ziyue felt that the recent direction of the wind was all wrong, and these past few days his right eyelid had been twitching fiercely, which, to speak in terms of feudal superstition, meant ”left for wealth, right for calamity.”

Today, considering Qin Ying’s abnormal behavior, it might be a sign of impending disaster!

With this in mind, he had no choice but to hurry and inform the Gang Leader.
