Time flew by, and before they knew it, the third day had arrived, at dawn.

The entire White Tiger Hall was decked out with lanterns and streamers, and guests had already started arriving one after another.

Today was the day Chen Jie would be inaugurated as the White Tiger Hall Master.

Inside the inner courtyard, Chen Jie stretched out his arms as maids Hong Mei and Cuiju attended to the hem of his clothing, while Su Yunjin helped him straighten his collar.

Just yesterday, their family had officially moved into White Tiger Hall.

The territory of White Tiger Hall was much larger than the residence in Zheng Chuan where Chen Jie had previously lived, and it was not just a living space but also the center of power for the entire White Tiger Hall.

White Tiger Hall was divided into an inner and outer courtyard.

The outer courtyard was split into three rooms, while the inner courtyard consisted of five departments.

The three rooms in the outer courtyard were the accounting room, Internal Affairs Room, and Guard Room.

They respectively managed the entire White Tiger Hall’s finances, internal affairs and property management, and the administration of White Tiger Hall’s guards.

Then there was the inner courtyard.

The inner courtyard was divided into five departments: the Kitchen Department, Flower Department, Inner Servant Department, Outer Servant Department, and Carriage Department.

These five parts were responsible for managing the household master’s clothing, food, shelter, and transportation. For example, the Kitchen Department was in charge of managing the chefs. White Tiger Hall had its own chefs, and according to the rules, it needed to have three head chefs and six sous chefs. Each head chef must have their own signature cuisine, ensuring that the master’s family could enjoy a variety of fresh dishes.

Next was the Flower Department, which, in other words, was the gardening department, employing florists to take care of everything within the mansion’s gardens such as dogs, birds, fish, and insects, including the planting of lotuses in a large pond and related matters.

Then there was the Inner Servant Department, which referred to the maids. The ranks of the maids had expanded from the original four to now twelve, with Yin Hongmei being the main Manager and Cuiju being the deputy.

Yes, it was that same little maid who wanted to climb into Chen Jie’s bed.

Next was the Outer Servant Department, which primarily managed the house slaves and servants, including some rough-job maids, who cleaned the courtyard.

Their main responsibility was to manage all external cleanliness, such as timely clearing any fallen leaves in the courtyard without negligence.

The difference between the Inner and Outer Servant Departments was that the former worked indoors while the latter worked outdoors.

The maids focused on indoor cleanliness and tidiness, requiring meticulous work, whereas the outer servants were a bit rougher in their tasks.

Among these, there was also a Carriage Department, a division specifically responsible for breeding horses for Chen Jie and managing transportation.

The stable of the White Tiger Hall Master was not something an ordinary family could compare with; it had a total of twelve horses, six of which were upper-class. There were also four carriages.

Although the rules stated that the Hall Master of White Tiger Hall’s rank could not use double-horse carriages, restricting the size of the carriages, having four carriages available for his own use also evidenced the wealth of White Tiger Hall.

Therefore, the Carriage Department also employed seven people, with the main person in charge being a sixty-year-old man.

This old man was very impressive. Peng Shizhong had used him since he was young. Not only did he raise horses well, but he was also a veterinarian. If a horse fell ill, he could diagnose it at a glance, therefore he was known as Old Ma the stableman.

Aside from Old Ma, there were also three middle-aged and three young men.

The young ones generally took care of feeding the horses, while the middle-aged were typically responsible for driving the carriages; of course, when the Hall Master travelled, it was usually the Guard Team’s responsibility.

This, then, was the inner courtyard’s five departments, which Su Yunjin was responsible for managing. As the housekeeper, she needed to take charge of all matters within the inner courtyard, and Chen Jie also planned to establish an Inner Courtyard Book Hall, where the children of all White Tiger Hall’s Merit Disciples could be sent to study for free.

In the future, White Tiger Hall would cultivate these children into talents, who could be immediately put to use after their studies were complete.

This was Chen Jie’s mechanism for internal talent selection.

You couldn’t always be scouting for talents in Jianghu. The children of Merit Disciples were loyal to him. Find them, nurture them from an early age, indoctrinate them, and wouldn’t they all become his most loyal subordinates in the future?

This also represented the embryonic form of the most powerful academic faction within Chen Jie’s future political strategy.

And this internal school eventually evolved into Chen Jie’s cradle for nurturing talents and was called the Mianshui Academy.

This academy was divided into an Internal Affairs College and a Military Academy.

It cultivated a batch after batch of young and strong forces loyal to Chen Jie, and the content taught at the academy became more and more specialized. Initially, it followed Su Yunjin in studying the Four Books and Five Classics, but later Chen Jie incorporated some modern subjects and modern concepts from later eras into it, resulting in a unique collegiate system.

Of course, all of this was in the future. The Inner Courtyard Book Hall hadn’t even opened yet, but Chen Jie had already allocated three thousand taels for it and designated an area in the backyard of White Tiger Hall. The recruitment was entirely handed over to Su Yunjin, and Chen Jie said to her, ”I want you to become the foremost female scholar in Mianshui, no, the entire world!”

”Your students will spread throughout the world, and you will become the greatest teacher!”

This was the path that Chen Jie was paving for Su Yunjin. Chen Jie intended to become Emperor, and sometimes when one becomes Emperor, people change, and some considerations become a matter of weighing pros and cons.

In the future, perhaps for political reasons, he would engage in political marriages with powerful individuals, and various women would enter his harem. He could control them,

But what about Su Yunjin?

Could she outwit those wolves?

Not to mention anything else, just take Huang Wan’er, for example. Such a woman, if she were to go crazy, he genuinely feared that his wife could be bullied. So, he wanted to find a way out for Su Yunjin.
