Wild Crazy Male Lead's Forced Love, You Don't Want, I Want!

100: Thirsty Skin Actor 10Lin Wan finally saw Zhou Zhuo again.

She spotted Zhou Zhuo sitting by the window, his long fingers scrolling on his phone, a faint smile playing on his lips.

That smile wasn’t for her; he was engrossed in a chat with some rich woman whose avatar was on WeChat.

“Zhou Zhuo…” Lin Wan stood before the table, clutching her bag strap, her nails almost digging in. She had been thinking of him constantly before seeing him, but he seemed very busy, always chatting with other women.

Although she had accepted his identity as a gigolo, she still felt uncomfortable.

Only then did the man look up, a flicker of impatience in his eyes quickly replaced by a gentle facade: “Wan Wan, you’re here? Sit.”

He casually locked his phone screen, but Lin Wan still caught a glimpse of the glaring red heart emoji in the chat interface.

The latte art in the coffee cup had blurred into a mess, just like Lin Wan’s tightly twisted, painful heart at that moment.

She watched Zhou Zhuo absentmindedly stir his coffee spoon, the clinking sound of the spoon against the ceramic particularly grating.

He seemed somewhat distracted, as if he didn’t want to see her at all.

“Have you… been avoiding me lately?” Lin Wan’s voice trembled, remembering how after the “recipient has received payment” notification popped up during yesterday’s transfer, she hadn’t received his goodnight voice message since.

Zhou Zhuo suddenly sighed, walked over, sat beside her, and pulled her into his arms.

Lin Wan crashed into his chest unexpectedly, the familiar, strong scent of cologne filling her nostrils, instantly dissolving all her defenses.

The man’s palm stroked her back, his voice muffled against the top of her head: “Wan Wan, you don’t know, I’ve really been short on money lately.”

This sentence opened Lin Wan’s floodgates like a key.

She recalled how she had gritted her teeth and transferred her last thousand yuan to him on her way here, and suddenly felt a surge of grievance.

She had been so good to him, why couldn’t he be a little better to her?

But in Zhou Zhuo’s embrace, that bit of grievance was now warmed by the heat of his palm, turning into a choke in her throat: “I… didn’t I just transfer you…”

“What’s that good for?” Zhou Zhuo suddenly tightened his arms. Lin Wan heard his chest emit a dull heartbeat, “It’s not even enough to pay off the interest on my online loans.”

As he spoke, his warm breath fanned her ear, but his other hand secretly reached for his vibrating phone.

Lin Wan suddenly remembered something and looked up at him: “But I just transferred you thirty thousand two days ago! That was my savings for a long time. After sending it to you, I almost couldn’t afford breakfast…”

That was all the savings she had gotten from her family. At the time, Zhou Zhuo said his family was in hardship, so she gave it to him.

But these past two days, when she said she wanted to see his sick mother, he didn’t even bother to respond. What was that about?

The man’s arm suddenly stiffened. Zhou Zhuo pushed her away slightly, a frosty look congealing between his brows: “What do you mean by that, Wan Wan?”

His thumb roughly wiped away her tear stains, the force painfully strong, without a hint of tenderness, “Are you asking me to return the money?”

“No!” Lin Wan frantically shook her head, stung by his sudden change in expression.

She had indeed thought of it, but she was even more afraid of seeing his disappointed face, “I’m just worried about you… you should still have some savings…”

Before she finished speaking, Zhou Zhuo suddenly cupped the back of her head and kissed her.

The kiss carried the bitterness of coffee and an undeniable dominance. Lin Wan was pressed against the back of the sofa, hearing the snickers of customers at the next table, and suddenly felt a bit humiliated.

But when his tongue pushed past her teeth, all complex thoughts dissolved into a muffled whimper.

Later, on the hotel bed, Zhou Zhuo was rougher than usual.

Lin Wan clutched the crumpled sheet, vaguely hearing him say things like “transfer next month’s rent,” and it seemed he even picked up his phone to send voice messages to someone else.

Before she could react, the man had already pulled away, picking up her unlocked phone and glancing at it.

When he saw only a few hundred yuan in her wallet balance, his face darkened, and he tossed the phone onto the bed.

Lin Wan was too tired. She accidentally fell asleep, and when she woke up, the spot beside her in the bed was already cold.

She fumbled for her phone on the nightstand. The lock screen lit up with a bank notification: balance 487.36 yuan, but no message from Zhou Zhuo.

He was gone.

He just left, without even saying goodbye.

Zhou Zhuo left as soon as he saw that Lin Wan had no money, not even sparing her a glance as he returned to the bar to chat and joke with his gigolo colleagues.

He never expected Lin Wan to suddenly rush over.

In the pouring rain late at night, Lin Wan splashed through puddles and stormed into the “Misty Night” bar.

She ran too frantically, twisting her ankle in her high heels.

Her heart felt empty now; she desperately wanted to see Zhou Zhuo.

But when she found him, what she heard was a burst of mocking laughter.

Zhou Zhuo was sitting on a sofa, raising his glass to clink with three other men.

“That woman is so damn easy to fool,” Zhou Zhuo’s raspy voice was exceptionally clear amidst the noisy music, “I just made up an excuse about being short on money, and she transferred thirty thousand. Yesterday, she saw I ignored her and immediately sent another thousand. Don’t you think she’s easy to fool?”

Amidst the clinking of glasses, a man with dyed blonde hair leaned in: “Oh, that easy to fool, huh? Introduce her to us, buddy, don’t hog her all to yourself.”

Zhou Zhuo exhaled smoke rings and laughed, “Too bad, I’ve already swindled all her money. Who wants to go on and swindle her further? I looked at her phone; she’s so poor now she only has a few hundred yuan left…”

Lin Wan stood in the shadows, trembling violently.

She couldn’t believe Zhou Zhuo was such a person.

He actually talked about her like this behind her back? In her previous life, Shen Ji would absolutely never have discussed and insulted her with his brothers in such a frivolous manner.

And he would never have let her spend a single cent.

But now, she had paid for the hotel earlier.

She heard the roaring laughter from the booth; they were all wantonly discussing her, without an ounce of respect.

“No money and still wants love?” Zhou Zhuo’s drunken voice was like a knife plunging into her heart, “This kind of foolish woman deserves to be…”

Lin Wan couldn’t listen anymore. As she stumbled and turned, she knocked over a waiter’s tray, the sound of breaking glass drawing the attention of that booth.

The air seemed to freeze for a moment.

Through the swaying beams of colored lights, she turned her head and met Zhou Zhuo’s eyes.

The man’s expression instantly froze, and his wine glass slipped from his fingers, shattering on the floor with a crash.

In the rain, Lin Wan rushed out of the hotel and ran three blocks before daring to stop.

She crouched under the convenience store awning, sobbing in gasps, looking at the message Zhou Zhuo had just sent: Wan Wan, listen to my explanation.

She felt a bit nauseous.

A gigolo, actually talking about her like this. Lin Wan suddenly felt like a complete failure.

This man couldn’t compare to Shen Ji, not even a single strand of his hair. How could she have ever fallen for him?

In her previous life, Shen Ji gave her so much money she couldn’t spend it all. How could she have been so ungrateful as to want to push him away?
