A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1564: Chapter 1554: Embrace

Suddenly pulled away, the man was somewhat displeased, glaring at Jiang Jingheng, and said, ”What are you doing?”

He said this as he tried to remove Jiang Jingheng’s hand from his shoulder, but he couldn’t move it at all. He was a bit annoyed, wanting to make a move, but was intimidated by Jiang Jingheng’s glance.

The man opened his mouth and mumbled, ”In everything, one should keep in mind who came first; it’s not gentlemanly to initiate action.”

Jiang Jingheng looked at him coldly; in his dictionary, there was never any notion of who came first—only what he wants and doesn’t want.

”Can I see your face?” A weak female voice sounded in front.

Jiang Jingheng’s almond eyes narrowed, and as he turned his head, he saw a young, unfamiliar woman looking at him with eyes full of hope and infatuation.

He suddenly took a step back, released his hand, turned his head to look around while walking forward.

”Hey, why are you leaving? I haven’t made a decision yet. Let me see your face; maybe I’ll give you a chance.” The girl caught up, and seeing him continue to walk forward, she reached out wanting to grab her.

Suddenly, her arm was grabbed by someone, and a pleasant female voice came, ”Girl, it’s quite impolite to casually touch a man’s hand.”

”Who are you?” The girl looked at the woman beside her wearing a hat and mask, her face full of displeasure.

Jiang Jingheng was stunned as if struck by a shield, his body stiffened, and he turned his head to see a figure standing in front of him.

His gaze was almost greedy as he looked at her face; even with her mask on and completely armed, he instantly recognized her.

Mu Yan walked up to Jiang Jingheng, took off her mask, and looked at him. Her clear eyes sparkled under the light, and she smiled, ”Of course, I’m his admirer.”

Jiang Jingheng looked at her, his light brown eyes filled with tenderness, the yearning in his heart surging uncontrollably at this moment.

The girl only felt a sense of familiarity when looking at the face before her, but she held a grievance inside, saying defiantly, ”I’m also his admirer, and I’ll compete with you fairly.”

She looked at Jiang Jingheng and handed him the sunflower in her hand, ”Would you accept my confession?”

Unfortunately, Jiang Jingheng didn’t even spare her a glance. His eyes were fixed on Mu Yan, as if he couldn’t look enough, his hand at his side tightly clenched, suppressing the urge to pull her into his arms.

Mu Yan walked up to Jiang Jingheng and said, ”I’ve always thought of myself as a slow-warm person, only when others have shown me enough devotion do I learn to reciprocate. But that’s just my selfish excuse. I’ve grown used to enjoying someone’s unquestioning love, even feeling vainly that I deserve it, while neglecting how much the other person gives, yearning for equal return.

I believe myself to be sincere enough and trusting enough—but I’ve never wanted to get closer to his inner world, because subconsciously I’m avoiding the fact that he loves me more than I love him.

I’m afraid of my selfishness being exposed, but that also proves my selfishness.”

”Shh, don’t say that, it’s not important.” Jiang Jingheng stepped forward and pulled her into an embrace.

She was his soulmate, how could he bear to let her say such self-deprecating things?

The moment she was held in his arms, he felt like his empty heart was filled, and he finally returned to reality, and the air itself seemed to gain warmth.

Caught off guard and hugged, Mu Yan’s words instantly choked back.

She wanted to break free from his embrace, but he held her too tightly. She whispered, ”I haven’t finished speaking.”

”No more talking, shh, let me hold you for a while.” Jiang Jingheng said, tightening his arms and holding her closer, burying his head in her neck, inhaling the familiar scent from her.
