A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1554: Chapter 1544: You Can’t Have Both Fish and Bear’s Paw

The news that Jiang Wenhui lost her memory surprised Mu Yan a bit. She couldn’t imagine how Jiang Wenhui, who was so scheming and deep-minded yesterday, became harmless today.

Accidents are always sudden and catch people off guard.

Despite not having a good relationship with Jiang Wenhui, considering her amnesia and Song Cheng’an’s influence, Mu Yan still went to the hospital once.

When she arrived, Jiang Wenhui was sitting at the bedside talking to Song Cheng’an. Her entire head was wrapped in thick bandages, her arm was dislocated due to the collision and was in a plaster cast, and her face was swollen from blood congestion.

Besides Song Cheng’an, Mu Yan surprisingly didn’t see a single person from the Jiang Family in the ward.

A daughter in a car accident with amnesia, yet the parents don’t visit. The family ties are really thin.

”Mu Yan, you’re here,” Song Cheng’an stood up and said.

”Yes.” Mu Yan nodded, placed the fruit basket on the bedside table, and looked at Jiang Wenhui, asking, ”Sister Wen Hui, how are you feeling?”

Jiang Wenhui looked at her blankly and asked, ”Who are you?”

”This is Mu Yan, your cousin’s wife, she is your sister-in-law. She’s also an artist in my company, a big star,” Song Cheng’an explained.

Jiang Wenhui still looked confused, but she said to Mu Yan, ”Hello.”

She said this and looked at Song Cheng’an, ”I’m thirsty, I want some water.”

”Okay, I’ll get you some water,” Song Cheng’an looked at her dotingly, poured two glasses of water, gave Mu Yan one, and then fed Jiang Wenhui the other himself.

Jiang Wenhui sipped water, taking small gulps, and after every sip, she glanced at him, her eyes full of dependence.

Having suffered brain trauma, Jiang Wenhui’s mental state wasn’t particularly good, and soon she felt tired.

Once she fell asleep, Song Cheng’an escorted Mu Yan out.

”What did the doctor say, will Sister Wen Hui remain amnesiac?”

”She lost her memory because there is blood congestion in the brain. If the congestion clears up, she will soon regain her memory, but no one knows when it will clear, so we can only wait.”

Mu Yan said calmly, ”If what’s lost are some bad memories, it might not be such a bad thing.”

”That’s what I think too,” Song Cheng’an nodded.

Some words Mu Yan didn’t bluntly say, but Song Cheng’an might still understand.

”By the way, I don’t have time to accompany you to tomorrow’s press conference, but I’ve arranged someone to go with you. Is everything okay on your side?” Song Cheng’an asked.

Mu Yan smiled and said, ”I’m no longer the inexperienced newbie I once was; don’t worry, take good care of Sister Wen Hui.”

”It’s because you have your own ideas now, so I’m a bit uneasy,” Song Cheng’an sighed, ”You used to be a delicate young cabbage, but now you’ve turned into a thorny rose, ready to prick someone at any moment.”

”Brother Song, are you complimenting me or criticizing me?” Mu Yan said somewhat helplessly.

”No, I just hope to see you pairing up with someone next time. If you two really get into something, I might lose faith in love,” Song Cheng’an said with a smile.

”There’s no problem between him and me,” Mu Yan said with determination.

Even if there were problems, she would solve them.

Leaving the hospital, Mu Yan got into the car under the escort of a bodyguard.

As she got in the car, Kong Yanzi immediately asked, ”That cousin of my little uncle really lost her memory?”

”I suppose so,” Mu Yan said calmly.

”Many people suffer major traumas hoping to forget past humiliations but can’t. She’s truly fortunate,” Kong Yanzi chuckled.

Mu Yan said calmly, ”That’s not necessarily the case. Forgetting is good, but losing what is most unwanted to lose.”

”Well, there’s nothing to be done; one cannot have both fish and bear’s paw.”

Mu Yan said nothing, looking out the window, pensive.
