A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 897: Chapter 897: You’re All I Have Left!

Upon suddenly hearing the doorbell ring, Mu Yan was startled. She turned on the wall lamp, checked the time on her phone, four o’clock in the morning. Who would be knocking at this hour?

Or perhaps, was the doorbell sound just her imagination?

Mu Yan shivered all over; after all, she was abroad, there shouldn’t be those kinds of things, right?

”Ding dong,” the doorbell rang again.

Mu Yan’s attention was drawn back. She breathed out lightly, got out of bed, walked to the door, and looked through the peephole.

Her eyes were full of shock. Him? Why had he come?

Mu Yan immediately opened the door and saw Jiang Jingheng standing at the entrance, holding a briefcase.

She opened her mouth, her tongue somewhat tied, ”You are...”

Jiang Jingheng, with a stern handsome face, walked straight in, leading her by the hand into the room.

The door closed with a ”bang.”

Jiang Jingheng threw the briefcase onto the sofa, pulled her close, and then lifted up her nightgown.

”What are you doing!” Mu Yan quickly reached out to grab his hand.

Jiang Jingheng held her hand, looking at the bandage wrapped around it, his handsome face shadowed darkly, his deep black eyes filled with anger.

Seeing him so furious, Mu Yan felt a bit scared inside.

She asked softly, ”Did you come all this way because of yesterday’s matter?”

Jiang Jingheng looked at her anxious expression with both anger and heartache, wishing he could bear the pain for her.

His hand gently caressed the bandage on her hand, his throat tight, voice hoarse, ”Does it hurt?”

”It doesn’t hurt anymore,” Mu Yan replied with a smile, ”Don’t worry.”

Jiang Jingheng pressed his lips together tightly, how could he not worry.

The whole way, for over ten hours, his mind was a mess, not daring to imagine what if something really happened to her.

He suddenly picked her up and sat her by the bed.

Lifting her skirt, he looked at her knee wrapped in bandages.

It didn’t seem severely injured; just the bruising on her leg was quite evident, finally easing his anxious heart.

He asked softly, ”Were you scared at that time?”

Mu Yan replied honestly, ”Yes, I was scared.”

Scared to death, thinking she wouldn’t survive.

At that time, besides panic, there was only regret and unwillingness in her heart.

He kissed the bandage on her leg gently, saying in a low voice, ”I shouldn’t have let this happen.”

Mu Yan smiled, ”What nonsense, it wasn’t your fault. It’s all over now.”

Jiang Jingheng said nothing, lowered his eyes, a flash of ruthlessness crossing his gaze.

This matter is not over!

Mu Yan frowned and said, ”Why didn’t you tell me you were coming over?”

Jiang Jingheng looked up at her and said deeply, ”When something happened, you didn’t call me either.”

”I...” Mu Yan looked at his light amber eyes and the words she wanted to argue with wouldn’t come out.

She paused and said, ”I was afraid you’d worry.”

”If you don’t say anything, do you think I won’t know, won’t worry?” Jiang Jingheng’s face was stern, the fury in his eyes burning intensely, ”I’m your husband, your closest person. If something happens, and you hide it from me, it only shows that in your eyes, I’m so incapable, unable to bear all this.”

Seeing his severe expression, Mu Yan felt both wronged and regretful.

At that time, she didn’t think much, just felt that she wasn’t hurt and was abroad, telling him would only add to his worries.

They had been together for so long, it was the first time he’d gotten this angry at her.

The more she thought about it, the more upset she became, and tears began to fall.

Seeing her crying so aggrieved, Jiang Jingheng also felt awful. Heaven knows how tormented he’d been inside all day.

An unprecedented fear had come over him, making him nearly lose himself.

Suddenly, he got up and hugged her tightly, his voice filled with suppressed pain, ”I only have you.”
