A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 893: Chapter 893: Made It in Time!

The wind felt like knives slicing across her face, and Mu Yan’s heart was completely consumed by fear, only waiting for death to arrive.

”Bang,” a loud crash resounded, and for a moment, the world seemed to quiet down.

Is she dead? Has she reached heaven or hell?

Her whole body was enveloped by a chill, is this the feeling of death?

It seemed... it seemed not as painful as imagined.

Then, the sound of a car came again, followed by a flurry of voices, all in Italian that she couldn’t understand, from men, women, old and young, a cacophony of noise.

”Miss, are you okay?” A clear male voice came from beside her.

Mu Yan slowly opened her eyes, saw the shadows on the ground, and in an instant, felt the warmth of the sun, the sound of the wind gently blowing past her ears, and the salty taste entering her nostrils. It seemed she was still in this world.

She turned her head and saw a young blond man squatting beside her, looking at his face, delicate and elegant, with fair skin, seemingly of mixed race.

”I’m fine.” Mu Yan nodded slightly, only then realizing that he had spoken in Chinese when he asked.

She praised, ”Your Chinese is really good.”

”I’m Chinese-American, my father’s family has always been from China.” The young man explained.

Mu Yan nodded her head and turned to look around, only to see a car parked in the middle of the road with its front smashed up, but the car that had just hit her was nowhere to be seen.

A large crowd surrounded her, speaking words she couldn’t understand.

She braced herself on the ground, preparing to stand up, only noticing then that her knee had been scraped and hurt a bit.

The person beside her noticed her stiff movements and helped her up.

After thanking him, she asked, ”Excuse me, what happened just now?”

”Just now, I saw a car rushing towards you, so I drove my car over to stop it, hence my car’s front being smashed, and that person ran away. But don’t worry, I’ve memorized the license plate number and will report it at the police station later. Now, let me take you to the hospital.” The young man said.

Mu Yan expressed gratitude, saying, ”Thank you.”

She turned to look around, but the grandmother who had been beside her was nowhere to be seen.

”Did you see the grandmother just now?”

”Grandmother?” The young man looked at her, puzzled, ”No, I didn’t.”

No? Mu Yan’s expression changed slightly, searching everywhere, but there were too many people around, she couldn’t find anyone.

Could she have run away amidst the chaos?

She wouldn’t blame the elderly for running away, in life-and-death situations, everyone wants to save themselves.

”Mu Yan, are you okay?” Wang Linjia’s anxious voice came from behind.

Mu Yan turned back and saw her and Sister Wen running over, their expressions worried.

She smiled faintly at them, indicating she was okay.

”Mu Yan? Is your name Mu Yan?” The man’s surprised voice came from beside her.

Mu Yan looked at him and said, ”Yes, my name is Mu Yan, how should I address you?”

”My name is Jordan, my Chinese name is Kong Yanzi.”

Mu Yan smiled a bit, ”So you’re a descendant of Confucius, your name matches your surname quite well.”

Jordan spread his hands, looking helpless, ”I can’t help it, even though my family lives abroad, they still remember their Chinese heritage and take pride in being descendants of the Kong Family.”

Mu Yan laughed lightly, about to say something, but Sister Wen and Wang Linjia came to drag her aside to ask about the situation.

Jordan gazed at Mu Yan’s face, as if remembering something, and smiled knowingly, relieved.

Thankfully, he made it in time!
