A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 870: Chapter 870: Doesn’t Want to Marry!

Rings? Several?

Mu Yan hesitated for a moment. If she were to tell Lan Xi, he still hasn’t given her a ring.

She said calmly, ”It depends on whether you prefer big diamonds or unique designs.”

Lan Xi thought for a moment and said, ”I like both.”

Mu Yan laughed, ”Then you’d better get one custom-made.”

Lan Xi remembered something, ”I remember you provided a design to the IOC last time; how about you design one for me?”

Mu Yan frowned, ”I’m afraid...”

”It’s okay, I was just joking.” Lan Xi laughed, lowered her head, and continued picking rings.

Mu Yan looked at the dazzling array of rings in the shop window, her mood suddenly not particularly good.

”Mrs. Gao, you’re here. Please rest for a moment, and I’ll immediately bring your custom jewelry for you to view.” The sales assistant’s enthusiastic voice came through.

”Mm.” The woman responded indifferently, her attitude very haughty.

Mu Yan felt the voice was somewhat familiar. When she turned her head, it was Zhao Jia Min and Zhao Xiyue, the two sisters.

Ever since the last falling out between them, she hadn’t seen Zhao Xiyue for a long time.

But she had seen some news about her online before; the ratings for the drama ”Deep Palace Secret History” weren’t good, and viewers criticized her acting as stagnant over the last ten years, showing no progress at all.

She had seen that drama; actually, her acting was quite good, but perhaps she had played such roles too often, lacking novelty, and the audience was visually fatigued.

Coupled with the trend of palace dramas over the past few years, the script of ”Deep Palace Secret History” didn’t have outstanding qualities compared to previous works, so its failure was normal.

Seeing Zhao Jia Min, Mu Yan felt her heart skip a beat and instinctively looked towards Lan Xi beside her. Whenever these two met, it was bound to be a confrontation.

She turned her head and whispered to Lan Xi, ”This one’s nice, try it.”

”Okay.” Lan Xi bowed her head to try on the ring.

Behind them, Zhao Jia Min and Zhao Xiyue were sitting on the sofa, and Zhao Xiyue felt someone had been looking at her. She raised her head and saw two girls standing with their backs to them, their silhouettes looking somewhat familiar.

”What are you looking at?” Zhao Jia Min saw her in a daze and asked.

”Nothing.” Zhao Xiyue sat down and took out her phone to reply to messages.

Seeing Zhao Xiyue chatting enthusiastically on WeChat, Zhao Jia Min frowned slightly, ”Xiyue, with your status, you can marry any man, why do you have to make mom and dad angry to be happy?”

”It sounds like you didn’t make mom and dad angry when you got married.” Zhao Xiyue said expressionlessly.

Zhao Jia Min slightly frowned, ”You don’t understand.”

”I don’t understand and I don’t want to understand, mind your own business,” Zhao Xiyue said impatiently.

Zhao Jia Min gritted her teeth, ”I’m doing this for your good. Mr. Chen’s son has the education, has the height. You marry into their family, you’ll have wealth and glory for life. I went to great lengths to connect you, what more do you want?”

”I’m not satisfied.” Zhao Xiyue said calmly.

Zhao Jia Min glanced at her and frowned, ”You wouldn’t still be thinking about marrying Jiang Jingheng, would you?”

Mu Yan paused as she held a ring. She had actually been listening to the conversation between Zhao Jia Min and Zhao Xiyue, and suddenly hearing Jiang Jingheng’s name, her ears perked up.

”Yes, I do want to marry him. My omnipotent sister, can you help me?” Zhao Xiyue looked at her with a serious expression.

Zhao Jia Min hesitated, frowning, ”Don’t be ridiculous, he’s not fit for you.”

Mu Yan hadn’t expected Zhao Xiyue to still have feelings for Jiang Jingheng, frowning slightly.

Nearby, Lan Xi’s mocking voice came through, ”It’s easier said than done. How can you say my Brother Jiang isn’t fit for your Zhao family when he simply doesn’t want to marry? Stop flattering yourself.”
