A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 139: Chapter 139 Entering the Platform

Mu Yan was getting ready to rehearse her song in the morning, but she noticed someone was watching her from behind.

She turned around, but saw no one.

Due to her past experiences, she’s quite sensitive about this, so she immediately called Song Cheng’an.

This matter was somewhat serious, so Song Cheng’an did not dare to hide it from Jiang Jingheng.

On the top floor of the Jiang Family Mansion, after hearing what Song Cheng’an had to say, Jiang Jingheng’s expression became serious, ”Let me check if it was my people who slipped up and got noticed by her. She’s timid, don’t frighten her, and make sure to protect her.”

He hung up the phone, furrowing his brows as he brooded over something.

”What’s got you so tense? And who is ’she’?” came a gentle male voice from beside him.

”It’s nothing,” Jiang Jingheng put his phone into his pocket.

”A girlfriend?” the man asked with a smile.

Jiang Jingheng remained silent and walked towards the stairway.

”I remember you used to like a girl. Are you still in touch?”

Jiang Jingheng didn’t answer, as he was already heading down to arrange for Mu Yan’s protection.

That afternoon, Song Cheng’an arranged for someone to escort Mu Yan to and from the hospital and the recording studio.

Online harassment against Mu Yan was rampant, and Mu Yan saw numerous trolls telling her to go die or worse, sending chills down her spine.

Are fans really this crazy these days?

Hopefully, their idol can withstand such a test.

At the airport, Zhou Lifen had just gotten off her flight and boarded a private car.

From the front seat, Chen Fang handed her a list, ”This is the list of contestants and songs from the ’Voice of Dreams’ program team. Take a look at it yourself. It’s a live event this time, and as a judge, you can’t afford to make any mistakes.”

Zhou Lifen took the list, glanced over it briefly, and tossed it aside.

”Aren’t there professional musicians present? I’ll just say a few words following their lead,” she replied impatiently.

Chen Fang added, ”There’s also some special news: Mu Yan will be competing as a singer this time.”

”What did you say?” Zhou Lifen’s expression changed slightly as she looked at Chen Fang, ”Mu Yan is going to sing?”

Chen Fang nodded, ”The program team said it was a last-minute addition.”

Zhou Lifen sneered, ”Is she out of acting roles and desperate enough to switch careers? Does she really think she can sing? I’d tell her to stay at her grandmother’s place!”

In the blink of an eye, it was already Friday, the day of the ’Voice of Dreams’ recording.

In the morning, Mu Yan was in the hospital accompanying Mu Chen.

At five in the afternoon, Song Cheng’an came to pick her up for the program show.

In the car, Song Cheng’an asked her, ”Is the song all set?”

Mu Yan nodded, ”No problem.”

Song Cheng’an chuckled, showing confidence.

When they arrived backstage at the program, Mu Yan saw many singers getting their makeup done.

The program director was surnamed Yang, appeared in his forties, neither fat nor thin, with a balding head.

Upon seeing Song Cheng’an, he immediately greeted him with a smile, his eyes nearly squinting from joy.

”President Song, long time no see.”

”Director Yang, you’re looking more handsome by the day,” Song Cheng’an said as he extended his hand to shake his.

”President Song, you sure know how to joke,” Director Yang laughed, his gaze shifting to Mu Yan, ”Miss Mu, you’re even more beautiful in person than in photos. I’ve seen your acting, it’s quite impressive.”

”You’re too kind, Director Yang,” Mu Yan nodded politely.

”Miss Mu, I wish you a perfect performance today.”

”Thank you, Director Yang.”

Director Yang gave a satisfied smile and turned to Song Cheng’an, ”President Song, feel free to make yourself comfortable; I have a few things to attend to first.”

”Don’t worry about us, Director Yang,” Song Cheng’an smilingly said.

After Director Yang left, Song Cheng’an looked at Mu Yan, ”Go get your makeup done; inside are contestants just like you.”

Luo Yao handed Mu Yan a bag with the clothes she’ll wear on stage tonight.

”Alright,” Mu Yan nodded and walked into the makeup room.
