A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 127: Chapter 127 Gentle

Mu Yan entered the house and found it empty; Yu Ma wasn’t there.

She went in to check around, but the house was very clean; someone must tidy it up every day.

Before getting off work, Jiang Jingheng received a call from Song Cheng’an, informing him of Mu Yan’s whereabouts.

On the phone, Song Cheng’an laughed, ”Bro, don’t say I didn’t create opportunities for you. Recently, I’ve slowed down Mu Yan’s schedule.”

Jiang Jingheng sneered, ”Yeah, you’re quite considerate.”

The person on the other end was silent; of course, it was because of your threats.

”I’m really curious about something, did you two make progress?”

”What do you think?” Jiang Jingheng said coldly.

”I bet you didn’t. I even doubt you’ve ever held hands with the girl.”

”Get lost!” Jiang Jingheng’s face darkened slightly.

Thinking about it carefully, he hadn’t really held her hand, shaking hands didn’t count.

”I knew you two getting married wasn’t consensual.”

Jiang Jingheng squinted his eyes slightly, ”You think I forced it?”

”Isn’t it? That time when she was drunk, I helped her return you to your room. She spent a long time searching for the light switch in your room, proving you two don’t stay in the same room. During the one or two months of working outside with her, she never brought you up proactively.”

”Didn’t anyone teach you not to speak when you can keep quiet? Focus on your work and keep your nose out of other things.” Jiang Jingheng hung up the phone after saying this.

He looked out of the window, his expression growing more somber.

Eventually, they would become a true couple.

After sitting for a while, he picked up his keys and went out.

Mu Yan rested upstairs for a bit and found that it was almost six o’clock. Feeling a bit hungry, she went downstairs to the kitchen.

Originally, she intended to simply make a bowl of noodles, but when she opened the refrigerator, she found it full of fresh vegetables and meat.

After some thought, she decided to cook a meal.

She took some vegetables from the fridge and began to prepare.

Jiang Jingheng opened the door and heard the sound of someone chopping in the kitchen.

His eyes deepened slightly, she was in the kitchen?

He changed his shoes, placed his bag on the sofa, and walked toward the kitchen.

He stood at the kitchen door, watching the girl inside in a T-shirt and shorts, wearing an apron and chopping vegetables.

The strands of hair in front of her forehead naturally hung down, and she focused unblinkingly on the cutting board in front of her.

In this moment, she seemed just like an ordinary wife, preparing dinner in advance before her husband came home, waiting for his return.

Even though he knew it was just his imagination, he couldn’t help but feel touched inside.

Mu Yan had just put down her knife when the corner of her eye caught someone watching her. She instinctively looked over and saw Jiang Jingheng.

Her hand contracted with her body’s reflex, and her finger accidentally brushed against the blade. She let out a soft yelp, ”Ah.”

She looked at her finger, the small cut there was bleeding heavily.

Jiang Jingheng’s expression changed slightly, and he quickly rushed in, grabbing her hand. His face darkened a bit more as he turned on the faucet to rinse it.

Mu Yan cast him a glance, and with a hint of blame in her voice, said, ”Why were you standing silently behind me, you scared me.”

”Sorry, does it hurt?” His eyelids lowered, filled with remorse.

It did hurt a bit, but Mu Yan wasn’t that delicate. She shook her head and said, ”It’s nothing.”

”I’ll get you a band-aid.” Jiang Jingheng said this and hurried out.

Mu Yan didn’t say anything, watching him leave.

Soon, he returned with a band-aid. The wound was still bleeding as Jiang Jingheng carefully wiped it with a cotton swab, then disinfected it with alcohol, before finally applying the band-aid.

He lowered his sharp eyes, his long curled lashes and fair, handsome face tightened with a look that was indescribably serious, appearing particularly pleasing.

Most importantly, his actions were really gentle.

Mu Yan watched him, somewhat lost in thought.
