Apocalypse Rebirth: Making Billions With My Fortune-Telling Skill

April reached out, taking the check and sliding it smoothly into her purse, letting it drop directly into her spatial dimension.

He said he’d wait until the call to give her the balance but here he was. She would interpret this as him being satisfied with her service and paying her upfront, and she would accept it with her full chest.

”That’s the spirit, Mr. Greels.” She said, her voice smooth and delighted. ”I take it that I’ll be expecting more from you once you get a call from your uncle, yes?”

”Yes, I’ll contact you.” He said and she nodded.

That’s what she liked to hear. A client that was willing to return after the first job was done. It seems she’s gotten a reasonable trust value from him but it was not enough to trigger the system trust value and add him to the client tab.

Well, there was still time so there was no rush.

”Now,” she said, clasping her hands together. ”You should probably call a trusted toxicologist to flush that poison out of his system. And also... Make sure no one gets close to him to finish the job just after you let out a sigh of relief.”

Alexander clenched his fists harder. Then, he looked back at his grandfather. Right now, if his uncle knows that things didn’t go his way, he would call him over to finish him off and when Alexander refused to go, that’s when he would get desperate and do something extreme.

His grandfather was in danger.

Alexander turned to April.

”Miss April, thank you for your help this time,” he said and she waved it off.

”No need to thank me. I needed to work my part to earn the check after all.” She said casually, but her tone was still so smooth and unhurried.

”Can I ask you to make one more prediction?” He asked and looked towards his grandfather. ”Read my grandfather’s fortune.”

April paused, her hand still resting near her purse as she looked into Alexander’s desperate, intense blue eyes.

”I thought you didn’t want to know your grandfather’s future,” she said, tilting her head slightly. ”Didn’t you say earlier that if it was a future where you were too late, it would just break you?”

Alexander nodded aggressively, his jaw tight. ”Yes, I did. I can’t handle the thought of him dying. But if we flush the poison out of his system right now, then that means he has a real shot at surviving. He has a higher chance of being alive in the future you can see.”

Well, that’s if he doesn’t become zombie food later. April thought, rolling her eyes away a little. Hm, but with proper preparation for the apocalypse, I think he’ll do fine.

Alexander stepped closer, his voice dropping into a rough, strained whisper. ”I just want to know if he’ll be in danger before the board meeting tomorrow morning. If there’s something I can do to prevent him from getting hurt, and I don’t do it because I was too scared to ask... I’ll regret it for the rest of my life. So I need to know. But...”

He swallowed hard, his knuckles turning white as he clenched his fists. ”If it’s a bad future... if it’s something I can’t change no matter what I do... then don’t tell me. Just tell me if I can save him.”

April pondered his words for a moment. She still had two insights left for the day, so spending one on the old man wasn’t an issue. And seeing Alexander’s fierce determination to protect his family actually made her respect the rowdy heir just a tiny bit more.

But business was business, and she wasn’t about to give away the fate of a commerce legend for pennies.

Her lips curved into a sharp, mocking smirk. ”The chairman’s life is much more valuable than yours, Mr. Greels. So, I’m sorry to say, but I’ll have to charge double what I charged you if I’m going to—”

Alexander didn’t even let her finish.

Before the words could fully leave her mouth, he ripped open his checkbook again.

With an incredibly grim, desperate expression, his gold pen flew across the paper with zero hesitation. He tore the check from the spine and shoved it toward her.

It was a hundred million dollars. Flat.

”Tell me,” Alexander demanded, his voice trembling slightly under the immense weight of his anxiety. ”What is my grandfather’s fate?”

April blinked, her usual unbothered composure faltering for a split second as she looked down at the check in her hand and the number of zeros..

Honestly, she was completely taken aback. She knew the Greels family was loaded, but billionaires really were something else entirely. To just tear out a hundred million dollars without a single second of hesitation, purely on the word of a girl in designer sneakers, was an insane level of wealth.

Recovering quickly, a wave of absolute triumph washed through her.

Jackpot.

She took the check with her full chest, sliding it smoothly into her purse where it vanished instantly into her spatial dimension. At this rate, her treasury was going to overflow before the week was out.

”Alright, Alexander,” April said, her voice dropping into that smooth, focused tone as she turned her eyes toward the fragile old man lying on the bed. ”Let’s see what the script has in store for the chairman then.”

In her mind, she quietly issued the command.

System, insight.

’Yes.’

[Target: Robert Greels — Current Timeline]

Immediate Future (Next 12 Hours): Once Dr. Evans fails to report back, his son, Harvey Greels, will realize the hospital plot has been compromised and fail to poison Alexander Greels. In a fit of absolute desperation to stop the succession, he will bypass the medical route entirely. At 11:45 PM tonight, he will send a corrupt private security team to breach the penthouse floor under the guise of an ’emergency patient transfer’ to kidnap or smother the chairman.

Fate Outcome: If the breach is successful, the target will suffer fatal cardiac arrest from the physical trauma. If the breach is prevented, the toxicologist’s flushing treatment will succeed, and Robert Greels will fully wake up at 7:30 AM tomorrow morning, completely lucid and ready to secure Alexander’s succession at the board meeting.

April’s eyes sharpened as she processed the text floating in front of her. It was a volatile, high-stakes timeline, but it was exactly what Alexander needed to hear.

She looked back up at the anxious young man waiting for her word, her smirk turning incredibly cold and dangerous.

”You have exactly until 11:45 tonight before something or someone tries to get into this building, Mr. Greels,” April said casually, tucking her hands back into her blazer pockets. ”Your uncle is going to find out his doctor got caught. When he realizes he’s out of time, and can’t get his hands on you as well, he’s going to get very desperate. He’ll be sending a corrupt security team here tonight to take your grandfather by force.”

Alexander’s face went entirely pale, but a dark, murderous fury quickly replaced the shock. ”By force? In my own family’s hospital?”

”They’ll use a fake emergency transfer order to get past the main lobby,” April explained smoothly, gesturing to Samuel to take note. ”But here is the good news: if you manage to stop them, your grandfather will open his eyes at exactly 7:30 tomorrow morning, fully alive, fully conscious, and ready to hand you your empire in front of everyone.”

Alexander let out a ragged breath, a heavy mix of relief and terrifying resolve washing over him.

He didn’t care for the Empire as much as his grandfather’s wellbeing. He was his only family after all. As long as he could wake up...

He looked at his grandfather, then turned back to April, bowing his head slightly in genuine gratitude.

”I won’t let them make it past the elevator,” Alexander muttered, his blue eyes flashing with a cold fire as he reached for his phone to call his personal security forces. ”Thank you, Miss April.”

But April shook her head disapprovingly and tapped her temple with her index finger.

”Think big, Alexander. Think very big.”

He froze, looking at her with a thoroughly confused expression. ”What do you mean?”
