Apocalypse Rebirth: Making Billions With My Fortune-Telling Skill

April picked up her black card from the desk and slid it back into her bag. Her expression remained entirely aloof, showing none of the internal excitement that was currently buzzing beneath her skin.

”Even with all this, Mr. Harrison, please understand that this is only the beginning. Five hundred tons is a drop in the bucket for what I actually require. Consider this an initial trial.”

Harrison’s eyes went wide, a massive, greedy smile stretching across his face.

”A trial? Of course, Miss April! We have massive cargo ships arriving at the coast every two weeks. If you need a lifetime’s worth of supply, Millennium can act as your exclusive provider. I can lock down the upcoming shipments of grain and powdered dairy before they even hit the open market. If you would just leave your direct contact number, I will personally—”

April cleared her throat, a brief, cold pause halting his sentence.

She suddenly realized a major flaw in her current setup: she didn’t even own a mobile phone. In her haste to escape the Morgan estate and secure her funds, getting a basic device had slipped her mind entirely. She couldn’t exactly give out the landline to the maids’ quarters.

”You don’t need my personal line,” April said smoothly, turning her gaze toward the corner of the office where the billionaire’s assistant stood. ”Mr. Reed’s office handles all of my administrative logistics. When the new shipments arrive, contact Samuel. He will coordinate the funds and the schedule with me.”

Samuel’s brow twitched behind his wire-rimmed glasses, but he didn’t contradict her. He simply bowed his head slightly toward Harrison.

”You can reach my direct desk line, Mr. Harrison. Treat Miss April’s requests with the highest priority.”

”Absolutely! Perfectly understood!” Harrison nodded frantically, practically bowing them out of his glass office.

April knew money moved the world more than anything. But two months from now, what would that money get them?

Anyway, a shipment like this every two weeks was nowhere near enough before the apocalypse so she planned to check other warehouses later for these goods.

”Right this way to sector three.” Mr. Harrison said once he had printed the receipt. ”I’ve already messaged the floor supervisors to evacuate the staff from the loading docks like you asked. The entire sector is completely cleared for your team’s privacy.”

He led April and Samuel down a long, echoing corridor that opened up into the expanse of Warehouse Sector Three.

The scale of the room was breathtaking. Towering steel industrial racks reached up toward the corrugated ceiling, packed tightly with wooden pallets.

There were endless rows of high-calorie canned meats, vacuum-sealed bags of heavy grains, flour, sugar, and industrial crates of purified water bottles stacked ten feet high. The air smelled faintly of cardboard and sterile packaging.

True to his word, the entire sector was dead silent. The forklifts sat abandoned in the aisles, and the heavy automated loading doors were sealed shut.

”My logistics team requires absolute privacy to execute the transfer,” April said, stopping at the threshold of the massive room.

She turned her cold, sharp gaze onto Harrison and Samuel.

”You both will wait outside the main sector doors. I will call for you when the inventory is cleared.”

Harrison looked slightly confused, wondering how a ’logistics team’ was supposed to enter a locked, sealed warehouse without utilizing the main loading docks, but he was too smart to question a multi-million-dollar black card holder.

”Of course, ma’am. The sector is entirely yours.”

Worst comes to worst, she would ask for their assistance.

Samuel, however, lingered for a fraction of a second. His sharp eyes scanned the empty aisles, then drifted back to April’s completely relaxed, unbothered posture.

He knew his boss was desperate to find out how this woman operated, but he also knew the dangerous aura she carried.

She was a strange woman whose actions and motives he could not quite understand.

With a quiet sigh, he turned and followed the manager out, the heavy metal security doors sliding shut behind them with a deep, echoing thud.

The moment the lock clicked, the mask fell off April’s face.

A fierce, predatory grin spread across her lips as she stepped into the center of the towering rows of supplies. She was completely alone.

System, she thought, her eyes gleaming in the dim warehouse lighting. I have paid legally for all the supplies here, except for the sheave, of course. Now, open the dimension. Let’s choke this space.

She walked up to the first massive row of canned meats. She didn’t even need to touch them for the entire shelf to vanish.

With a single thought of intake, an entire thirty-foot steel rack emptied out, leaving behind nothing but a puff of displaced dust.

Inside her mind, the system window flashed rapidly.

[Ding! Sourced: 12 tons of premium canned pork/beef. Total Space Capacity updated: 120/10,000 cubic meters.]

”Beautiful,” April laughed out loud, her voice echoing off the empty concrete floor.

She didn’t waste another second. She began moving through the aisles like a shadow, her sneakers squeaking softly against the ground as she danced around, swirling around, the shelves emptying from whichever path she took—grains, flour, water, sugar—the massive piles of resources vanished instantly, sucked directly into the infinite, time-stasis grid slots bound to her soul.

Shelf by shelf, the massive, overwhelming warehouse sector was being completely hollowed out from the inside out, and it was only a matter of time for her ultimate survival tool’s upgrade to take place.

The translucent blue ripples of light pulsed outward from April’s body with every turn, her soft laughter echoing like a haunting melody in the large, emptying room.

Intake.

[Ding! Sourced: 50 tons of vacuum-sealed wheat and grain. Total Space Capacity: 620/10,000 cubic meters.]

Intake.

[Ding! Sourced: 100 tons of refined sugar and flour. Total Space Capacity: 1,620/10,000 cubic meters.]

Intake.

[Ding! Sourced: 250 tons of industrial-grade purified water crates. Total Space Capacity: 4,120/10,000 cubic meters.]

The rapid-fire chime of the system window was music to her ears. Within less than fifteen minutes of her silent, swirling dance, the massive Warehouse Sector Three had been completely gutted.

Where towering, multi-ton industrial racks once threatened to block out the ceiling lights, there was now nothing but vast, wide-open concrete, a light layer of settled dust, and a few abandoned wooden pallets.

She didn’t even need an hour, not to talk of two hours.

April stopped in the center of the colossal, empty room, her breath slightly elevated from the sheer thrill of it. She closed her eyes to check the interface.

[Current Space Level: 1 (Upgradable). Current Capacity: 5,000/10,000 cubic meters.]

Halfway there, she thought, a dark, deeply satisfied smile cutting across her face. Just one more warehouse like this, and it will level up.
