Apocalypse Rebirth: Making Billions With My Fortune-Telling Skill

As she ate, April noticed Samuel standing a few paces away near the entrance of the dining area, his hands clasped behind his back, acting out his part as a flawless, professional assistant. He looked bound by duty, his eyes staring blankly into space.

April took a sip of her water, wiping her lips with a cloth napkin. ”Samuel,” she called out clearly.

Samuel immediately broke his stance and walked over to her table, bowing slightly. ”Yes, Miss April?”

”Sit down,” she said, gesturing to the empty leather chair opposite her. ”Do you want to sit at my table and eat? Standing there like a statue won’t make the food arrive any faster at our next stop.”

Samuel blinked, momentarily caught off guard by her blunt invitation. ”Thank you for the offer, Miss April, but I am on duty. It would be unprofessional for me to dine while executing Mr. Reed’s orders.”

April let out a soft, amused chuckle. ”Suit yourself. But a hungry driver is a dangerous driver.”

Once she finished her meal, feeling entirely refreshed and energized, she pulled out her shining black card and settled the hefty bill without a single flinch. They walked back out to the curb and slid into the cool interior of the sedan.

She gave out a satisfied sigh, her chest filled with satisfaction and stomach with food.

”Let’s go to Millennium now,” April commanded, her posture hardening back into that sharp, cold elite frame. ”I want to take a look at their inventory and their stocks, their canned meats, grains, and vacuum-sealed dry goods right away.”

Samuel nodded, though his brow twitched slightly behind his glasses. As an executive assistant to a multi-billionaire, he was used to eccentric clients buying private islands, luxury yachts, or fine art.

Sourcing bulk survival rations like a military contractor was a new one. But remembering his boss’s strict orders—and the chillingly accurate warning this woman had delivered just a few minutes ago—he held his tongue.

Just as he carried her to the restaurant with no questions asked, he would keep his mouth sealed until he took her to her destination.

Within thirty minutes, the car pulled through the heavily secured iron gates of Millennium Logistics.

The facility was immense, a sprawling network of gray warehouses with cargo trucks lined up at loading docks as far as the eye could see.

Samuel stepped out first, smoothly opening the door for April. She got down and then slid her hair behind her ear as the wind picked up.

The air here was very fresh. She liked it.

”Miss April?” He called and she snapped out of it.

”Coming.”

He led her straight past the standard reception desk and into the glass-walled office of the facility manager, a stout man named Mr. Harrison, who was currently reviewing shipping manifests.

The moment Harrison saw Samuel and the sleek Reed Industries emblem on Samuel’s tablet, he scrambled out of his chair, nearly knocking over his coffee.

”Assistant Samuel! What a surprise. We weren’t expecting an audit or a visit from the corporate office today. Is something wrong with the harbor shipping lines?”

”Relax, Mr. Harrison. This is not an audit.” Samuel said, stepping aside to present April. ”This is Miss April. She is a private client with high-priority clearance from Mr. Reed himself. She is looking to make an immediate, large-scale wholesale purchase from your current reserves.”

Harrison blinked, his eyes darting to April. In her tailored black blazer dress and cold, imposing posture, she looked like a ruthless corporate shark who had come to buy out his entire company.

He instantly straightened his tie, offering a deeply respectful bow.

”An honor, Miss April. Whatever you need, we can accommodate. Are we talking about a few pallets for a corporate charity event?”

”Pallets?” April let out a low, soft chuckle that made Harrison’s spine stiffen.

She walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the massive warehouse floor, where forklifts were moving towering crates of food.

”No, Mr. Harrison. I’m talking about entire storage sectors. I want to know exactly how many tons of high-calorie canned goods, rice, flour, and bottled water you have available for immediate release.”

Harrison swallowed hard, his eyes widening. ”Immediate release? Ma’am, our sector three warehouse currently holds about five hundred tons of surplus shelf-stable goods meant for export next month. But a purchase of that size requires an incredible amount of capital and a massive fleet of transport trucks to move it out of here.”

April turned around slowly, a sharp, dangerous smirk playing on her lips. She reached into her small shopping bag, pulled out her newly minted high-tier black card, and tapped it lightly against Harrison’s desk.

”The capital isn’t an issue,” April said, her voice smooth and completely deadpan. ”As for the transport... you don’t need to worry about a fleet of trucks. Just clear out the staff from warehouse sector three for two hours after the transaction clears. My ’logistics team’ will handle the pickup in total privacy.”

Harrison stared at the black card, then at Samuel, who simply gave a curt, tight nod—confirming that whatever this woman wanted, she had the absolute backing of the Reed empire’s wealth.

”I... I understand,” Harrison stammered, his fingers flying across his keyboard to process the intake. ”Five hundred tons of premium, ten-year shelf-life survival rations and water reserves. That will come to a total of three point two million dollars, Miss April.”

”Swipe it,” April commanded without a single hesitation.

As the machine chimed green, confirming the massive deduction from her fortune, April felt a thrilling, fiery rush of adrenaline in her chest. She closed her eyes for a brief second, mentally checking the blue system screen hovering in her mind.

[Current Space Level: 1 (Upgradable). Current Capacity: 0/10,000 cubic meters.]

Just wait, she thought, her cold gaze fixing on the massive, locked warehouse doors across the compound. In a few minutes, the real stocking begins.

”I’ll have the delivery manifests prepared immediately, Miss April,” Mr. Harrison said, his fingers flying across the keyboard with a newfound, frantic energy.

A client who swiped over three million dollars without blinking was a godsend for his quarterly commissions.
