Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2837: Chapter 2837: So It Was All a Lie

”Uh.”

An Jiuyue was momentarily speechless by the question.

Indeed, if just walking around can tear the map, what if the map got hidden until tomorrow morning, would it perhaps get lost while being hidden?

”No way, I have to stay here and keep watch, lest the map really gets lost.” After thinking it over, she felt it was better to remain here and guard it.

And Qian Jiyun was not wrong in his guess. While many of the Black Clothes were resting in the woods, someone really attempted to secretly steal the map and destroy it.

If An Jiuyue hadn’t thrown a pebble in time to awaken the Shadow Killer, who knows when they would have been able to act.

The motive of that Black Clothes person was very simple; he didn’t want to go to the Battle Cloud Camp to die. After all, it is Battle Cloud Camp, not an easy place to break into.

Even with a map, so what? When those people see them break in, would they just obediently wait to be killed?

By then, for sure, things will blow up, and could they still manage to escape?

...

Over here, someone was trying to steal the map, while on the other side at the Battle Cloud Camp, a guard had just entered the camp, not yet reaching his tent, when he was blocked by An Zhiyi, who had been waiting for a long time with others.

”So late, where have you been?”

Hearing the voice and seeing who it was, the guard was shocked, sensing that something was wrong.

These people all wore expressions of rage, looking at him as if they wanted to eat him alive. Were they waiting for him all this time? Does that mean the things he had been doing were exposed?

His pupils shrank, fear surging in his heart, but at this moment, he had no choice but to calm himself down to face the situation in front of him.

”Lord, you’re not asleep either at this late hour.” Forcing a smile that didn’t look too stiff, he looked at An Zhiyi, pretending to greet casually.

”Get to the point. The lord is asking you a question. Where did you just go?” One of the guards beside An Zhiyi stepped forward aggressively and questioned him.

They really underestimated this person, didn’t they? Wouldn’t it be better to just do his job as a guard properly? Instead, he had to mingle with people outside and become a traitor.

Earlier, he even pretended to be so honest and guileless; turns out it was all deceitful.

If it weren’t for the lord’s timely discovery, they would still be kept in the dark by him, unaware of anything, and maybe they’d get stabbed in the back someday without knowing how they died.

The traitor, yelled at by the guard, suddenly clenched his hands tightly in his sleeves, cold sweat breaking out on his back.

He really regretted it, knowing he should have told Shadow Killer about the tents as soon as Shadow Killer found him, regardless of whether Shadow Killer could remember it or not, as long as it wouldn’t implicate him.

Unfortunately, now that it’s too late for regrets, he was stuck here, if he couldn’t find a good excuse, he surely wouldn’t escape.

”I couldn’t sleep, took a stroll outside, since we’re switching to a new protected ground tomorrow, a bit unaccustomed.” He feigned reluctance on his face, looking at An Zhiyi.

Hoping to deceive An Zhiyi, after all, switching to a new protected ground tomorrow was true.

If it was just a lateral switch between grounds, that would be normal, but he was to switch to a larger protected ground, with more and stronger demonic beasts there.

This kind of thing would unsettle anyone, making it a perfect excuse.
