Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 1179: Chapter 1221: Developing Feelings

Unfolding the letter, Ling Shenglan’s elegant handwriting fell into Ling Yueyue’s eyes.

The content of the letter wasn’t very long, but not very short either. It detailed Ling Shenglan’s general situation over the years to Huo Junmo, including the premarital pregnancy, the pressure of giving birth to Ling Yueyue, then selfishly fostering Ling Yueyue under her brother and sister-in-law’s name, even disliking Ling Yueyue due to her biological father’s reasons, almost transferring all her hatred for him onto Ling Yueyue.

Later she met Xiao Feng and, without hesitation, abandoned Yueyue to leave Jin City and go abroad with him! Although she left Yueyue a considerable sum of child support, it couldn’t make up for the neglect Yueyue suffered.

During her more than five years away, **** had thought of Yueyue every night and knew how important Yueyue was in her heart.

This return was simply to see how Yueyue was doing. She just wanted to see her, as long as she was happy, without intending to reveal Yueyue’s background to her.

However, after knowing the days Yueyue had lived through these years, she felt very guilty and remorseful, thinking about seeking justice for Yueyue.

Now she has retrieved all the money Ling’s father and mother had embezzled over the years and returned it all to Yueyue without missing a cent! She knows this money might not be important to Yueyue at all, but it’s her intention. She also feels guilty and remorseful for not protecting Yueyue well over the years, and is in great pain.

After saying this, she sincerely thanked Huo Junmo again, thanking him for taking care of Yueyue, and begged him to continue to take good care of Yueyue and not let her get hurt again!

At the end of the letter, she wrote down the PIN for the bank card in it! The PIN is her birthday.

However, until the end of the letter, there was no mention of what Ling’s mother had said!

For instance, abandoning her to Ling’s father and mother to shirk the responsibilities of a mother and returning alone to Jin City, or when Ling’s father and mother couldn’t raise her anymore, wanting to leave her in an orphanage.

None of what Ling’s mother said was mentioned in even a single word in the letter!

She didn’t know if she was too ashamed to say, or if these were just fabrications by Ling’s mother! Anyway, she was sure that her mother unwillingly gave birth, never gave her the so-called love, and even directed all her hatred for her own father onto her, all undeniable facts.

After reading the letter’s contents, Ling Yueyue unknowingly felt her eyes redden, with hot tears rolling down her cheeks.

She didn’t know what to feel after reading the letter, knowing only that her emotions were complicated, profoundly complicated. She couldn’t decide whether to blame her biological mother or forgive her!

After all, all the suffering in her twenty-one years had stemmed from her! If she had given her even a tiny amount of love or taken a little responsibility for her, she wouldn’t have led such a hard life!

After learning the whole truth, initially, she didn’t resent or hate her, only wanting to draw a clear line, to live separate lives henceforth!

However, after reading the letter, all her hatred and resentment started to surface bit by bit! More than anyone, she understood that once a person has emotions, resentment, and hatred, it means feelings have begun to develop for that person.

If there were no feelings for someone, there absolutely wouldn’t be such emotions!

Perhaps from the beginning, she had feelings for her biological mother but had been repressing them all this time!

She felt constantly conflicted, wanting to forgive her biological mother yet unwilling to do so, not even knowing what she herself should do! Perhaps, only after her biological mother leaves, and she calms down for a while, will she know what she truly needs and wants.

Ling Yueyue wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, took a deep breath, and took the bank card from the envelope, repeatedly turning it over in her hands!

After looking at it for a while, she meticulously folded the letter along the original crease and placed it back in the envelope with the bank card.

After folding the letter back into its original form, Ling Yueyue opened the first drawer on the left side of the desk, placing the letter carefully back to its original place before closing the drawer.

With the drawer closed, Ling Yueyue stared at it for a long time, her eyes filled with reluctance and sorrow.

After a while, Ling Yueyue finally withdrew her gaze, stood up, and left the study resolutely.

Even though she left the study, the whole day, Ling Yueyue seemed distracted, listless no matter what she did. Usually, she personally played with Tiantian whenever she had the chance, only handing her to the nanny when busy or during meals.

But throughout today, Ling Yueyue hadn’t held Tiantian; the nanny held her all day. Even when holding her occasionally, she had no mood to make Tiantian laugh or happy.

And listening to Tiantian’s laughter by her ear, she instead found it noisy! So, in the end, she simply let the nanny take Tiantian to play in the garden, while she lay on the couch in the hall, staring blankly at the TV, which wasn’t turned on.

Even during lunch, she ate just a few tasteless bites.

This situation continued until Huo Junmo and Huo Jiantian returned! Not wanting Huo Junmo to worry about her, Ling Yueyue forced herself to perk up, put on a smile, and, as usual, held Tiantian to the door to wait for Huo Junmo and Huo Jiantian.

As soon as Huo Junmo got out of the car, he habitually took Tiantian from Ling Yueyue’s arms into his own!

Usually, as soon as Huo Junmo held Tiantian, she would burst into joyous giggles! But today, since Huo Junmo’s return, Tiantian appeared listless, her little face lacking any spirit, just lazily glancing at him.

Noticing something was off with Tiantian, Huo Junmo puzzledly asked, ”What’s wrong with Tiantian? Why does she seem out of sorts?”

Ling Yueyue replied indifferently: ”I felt a bit tired today, so I let the nanny hold her longer; maybe she’s acting up because of that! It’s okay, she’s just a child; she’ll be fine after some coaxing!”

Huo Junmo gently touched her pallid face, saying tenderly, ”If you’re tired, just rest in your room; why come out to meet me?”

Ling Yueyue barely managed to force a smile, saying with a bright expression: ”I know, I won’t push myself, don’t worry! I just want you to see Tiantian and me first when you come home every day! Tiantian misses you so much when she doesn’t see you all day, so I just want to let her see you as soon as possible, even if it’s just a minute earlier!”
