Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 1147: Chapter 1189: Mocking and Sarcasm

Ling’s father calculated the time and stood by the roadside in front of the motel waiting for Ling’s mother! Shortly, the taxi Ling’s mother was in stopped at Ling’s father’s feet.

Ling’s father hurriedly opened the car door and helped Ling’s mother take out her luggage. Ling’s mother paid and got out of the car.

Ling’s father supported Ling’s mother’s arm, smiling, ”Honey, you must be tired from the journey. How about resting for a while before visiting Shenglan later?”

”I don’t have the mind to rest! Put the luggage upstairs, have a cup of tea, and then go find Ling Shenglan! I won’t be at ease until this matter is resolved!” Ling’s mother gave Ling’s father a look and walked into the motel without turning her head.

Ling’s father hurriedly followed her at a quick pace!

Once they reached Ling’s father’s single room, Ling’s mother immediately frowned, covered her nose with disgust, ”You stayed here yesterday? The conditions here are terrible! It smells bad, there’s only a single bed, and the room is so small!”

Although they lived in the countryside, more than five years ago when Ling Shenglan left some alimony money for Ling Yueyue, they used that money to build a house. Though the environment wasn’t as good as the villa Ling Yueyue now lived in, it was still decent. At least in their place, their house was the largest and most beautiful!

It had been a long time since they lived in a rundown house, so when Ling’s mother walked into this cheapest single suite, she could no longer hide the disdain in her eyes.

”There was no choice, hotels in Jin City are too expensive. I spent a long time finding this cheapest motel!” Ling’s father glanced at the room’s conditions. Although bad, it was still livable!

In every big city, there are cheap motels for grassroots people to stay in. The environment may not be as good as big hotels, but the price is definitely best for them!

Ling’s mother fanned the air in front of her nose, reluctantly saying, ”Alright, alright, let’s put up with it for a night! Maybe today we can resolve everything, and we can go home tomorrow!”

Ling’s father poured Ling’s mother a glass of water! He wasn’t as optimistic as Ling’s mother!

He could tell that his wife intended to talk to Shenglan, but the premise was to get Shenglan to withdraw the lawsuit without repaying the money!

He felt this was a pipe dream!

Shenglan this time is completely different from over five years ago! She simply wouldn’t listen to them or be manipulated!

Sigh... now that this matter has escalated, what can be done!

Compared to Ling’s father’s solemnity, Ling’s mother seemed rather relaxed and cheerful, drank a cup of tea, rested briefly, and then energetically pulled Ling’s father to take her to find Ling Shenglan.

”Wait a minute, I’ll call her to see if she’s at the hotel, so we don’t make a trip for nothing!” With that, Ling’s father took out his phone and called Ling Shenglan.

The phone rang for a long time, and just as Ling’s father thought Ling Shenglan wouldn’t answer, the call connected, and Ling Shenglan’s sarcastic voice came through, ”Oh, I wondered who was calling, turns out it’s my dear brother! Not long ago, I called you eight times in a row, but you didn’t answer, nor did you call back! I thought you didn’t want me as a sister anymore! Seeing you call today, I was shocked and thought I was mistaken!”

Listening to Ling Shenglan’s undisguised sarcasm, Ling’s father’s face turned red, and he forced a smile, awkwardly saying, ”It’s not that I didn’t answer, but I was really busy with farm work and didn’t have my phone on me, and when I got back it was late. I thought you’d be asleep and planned to call you the next day, but then I forgot. I’m really sorry, my memory is so bad!”

Ling Shenglan snorted coldly, disdainfully said, ”Indeed, your memory is bad, or how else could you forget Yueyue is my child, and have the audacity to exploit her for so many years! Poor my daughter, at such a young age, she had to go out to work and support you two wolves!”

”Uh...!” Being mocked again by Ling Shenglan, Ling’s father’s face turned even uglier!

Ling’s mother, sitting beside him, vaguely heard Ling Shenglan’s words through the phone, and her face was no better. If it was normal, she would have grabbed the phone and scolded back, but not today! She resisted her anger, pushing Ling’s father’s arm forcefully, repeatedly signaling him.

After a long while, Ling’s father managed to find his voice again, forced a laugh, ”Haha, I know I was wrong before. Here, I’ve brought your sister-in-law to specifically apologize to you. Are you at the hotel now? If you are, I’ll bring your sister-in-law over!”

Hearing Ling’s father talk about apologizing, Ling’s mother kept pinching Ling’s father’s arm, angry that he shouldn’t have said that!

Ling’s father ignored the pain from his arm, persistently said, ”We’re siblings, family. Family shouldn’t hold grudges overnight. No matter what your brother has done, deep down he still cares the most about you as a sister! See, I’ve particularly brought your sister-in-law to see you, haven’t I? If you’re not at the hotel, we can meet elsewhere; I’ll wait for you, your brother will treat you to dinner!”

Upon hearing his words, Ling Shenglan sneered on the other end, ”Fine! I’m not at the hotel now. Since you want to find me and treat me to dinner, let’s meet at the Good Times Restaurant. I’ll be waiting for you in the first private room on the second floor!” With that, without letting Ling’s father react, she hung up the phone.

Originally, she didn’t want to see this disgusting couple again, much less have dinner with them! However, recalling their actions over the years, she changed her mind!

Weren’t they saying they wanted to treat her to dinner? Since they were usually so stingy, this time she’d let them bleed heavily and make them distressed!

After hanging up, Ling’s mother heard Ling’s father say he’d treat Ling Shenglan to dinner, and angrily hit him repeatedly, ”Why do you want to treat her to dinner? Doesn’t it cost money? Do you know how hard it is for us to make money now? You really piss me off, if we meet her, that’s enough, why talk about dinner, you...!” She was so angry she couldn’t finish her words.

Ling’s father quickly grabbed Ling’s mother’s hand, helplessly said, ”Oh, we have a request of her, so of course we should treat her to dinner! As the saying goes, you’re considerate when you eat someone’s meal, and accommodating after receiving something. Treat her to dinner, whatever we discuss will be negotiable! It’s strategy, strategy! Maybe, with the meal, if we sincerely ask her, she’ll soften and not sue us and won’t ask for money. You see, Yueyue doesn’t lack money now, nor does she, really it’s just about pride! She’s angry about our years of hidden deception!”
