Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 1110: Chapter 1152: Habits Die Hard

Just as Ling Yueyue was so exhausted that she lay on the bed without wanting to move, only wishing to rest with her eyes closed, the doctor came over holding the baby, ”Mrs. Huo, congratulations, you’ve finally given birth. You’re the bravest mother we’ve ever seen!”

Ling Yueyue used the last bit of strength in her body, tilted her head, and glanced at the baby the doctor was holding. Seeing the child’s delicate and chubby little face, she smiled contentedly. When all her strength was spent and she was utterly exhausted, she finally closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep!

Ling Yueyue did not know how long she slept; she only knew she was extremely tired, truly exhausted, like never before! Now, she just wanted to rest well, have a good sleep, without caring about anything or thinking about anything!

She did not know how long she had slept until she felt her body’s strength return somewhat, and then she slowly opened her eyes!

Though still somewhat tired, the moment she opened her eyes and saw Huo Junmo and her good friend Ye Anxin keeping watch in the ward, she felt warmth in her heart and felt the previous pain was not in vain; everything was worth it!

However, because she had just given birth, her good mood was not affected at all, even if there was a slight hiccup along the way.

Because the childbirth was normal and both mother and daughter were safe, everything recovered well, so after being observed in the hospital for two days, Ling Yueyue left with her baby!

But, to Ling Yueyue’s surprise, just after leaving the hospital and returning home, her phone on the nightstand rang. Ling Yueyue glanced at the caller ID and saw it was her father calling, so she asked the maternity nurse to take the baby to the nursery, answered the phone, and lightly said ”Hello!”

On the other end of the line, Ling’s father’s voice, brimmed with concern, came through, ”Yueyue, I heard you gave birth. How is your recovery? Are you okay? Is there anywhere uncomfortable? Is the child well-behaved?”

”The recovery is okay, and the baby is quite good!” Ling Yueyue’s answer was very bland, without much emotion!

This was the third call from her father since the police took her parents and two younger sisters away last time!

During her final two weeks of pregnancy, every Monday night, she would receive his call punctually; this was the third, and it was Monday, only now it was in the morning!

To be honest, when she received the first call from her father, it was really unexpected; she thought she had misheard, or it was a prank call from someone! Especially hearing her father’s caring words, she wondered if she was dreaming!

In the past, her father did care for her, but due to her mother’s authority, he never dared to show it openly. As time went on, she almost forgot he was the only one who had ever been good to her in the family!

When she received the second call, she was much calmer! Toward her father’s concern, she wouldn’t express joy, nor would she show disgust; she would just respond perfunctorily in a formal manner!

Now it’s the third call! Although she couldn’t see her father’s expression through the phone, she could still hear the care in his words! Whether genuine or fake, it didn’t matter to her; she would still act as she should!

Apparently not sensing Ling Yueyue’s cold attitude, Ling’s father continued his caring conversation, ”You must rest well; I’m telling you, a woman must take good care of her health during confinement; otherwise, it will leave long-term issues! You’ll suffer in old age!”

Ling Yueyue answered indifferently, ”I know, there are plenty of servants at home, taking great care of me!”

Ling’s father replied with satisfaction, ”That’s right, Mr. Huo takes such good care of you, and the family is so wealthy; you don’t need to do anything, just focus on recuperating well! Is the child well-behaved?”

”Mmm!” Ling Yueyue responded softly!

Throughout the conversation, Ling Yueyue didn’t show much interest, only responding to Ling’s father’s words in a standard manner!

On the contrary, Ling’s father seemed to have endless things to say after Ling Yueyue gave birth, not only reminding her to rest well but also asking about many things regarding the baby, even though Ling Yueyue always responded perfunctorily without enthusiasm, Ling’s father kept talking for a long time!

Until Ling Yueyue sluggishly spoke, ”I’m tired and want to rest now!”

Although knowing full well that Ling Yueyue was uninterested in talking with him, Ling’s father was not angry at all, instead happily said, ”Alright, alright, look at me, your giving birth made me so happy that I forgot to let you rest and tired you out! I’ll hang up for now, rest well, take care, and I’ll call you in a few days!”

”Mmm!” Ling Yueyue responded blandly and hung up before Ling’s father!

Looking at the phone screen that had gone black, Ling Yueyue felt slightly lost.

Perhaps it had been too long, or perhaps she was used to her parents’ indifference and lack of care, so now facing her father’s sudden concern, she didn’t feel happy or excited, instead felt at a loss, quite uncomfortable.

If it were in the past when she was younger, her father’s sudden concern would have made her so happy she couldn’t sleep!

But now... she really felt nothing!

Ling Yueyue regained her thoughts and placed the phone back on the nightstand, then lay back on the bed to rest!

During the entire confinement period, not only did Huo Junmo move almost all his work to the home for handling, but Meng Bo also traveled daily between the company, home, and the Huo Family Villa!

Confinement was not only grueling for Meng Bo, but extremely trying for Ling Yueyue as well! Practically doing nothing, only able to lie in bed to rest! Unless necessary, she couldn’t even touch the TV or phone!

In these ’life feels worse than death’ days, Ling Yueyue finally completed the entire month!

A month later, Ling Yueyue’s confinement period ended, coinciding with the full moon celebration for the baby, Tiantian!

Huo Junmo compiled the guest list for the invitation and handed it to Ling Yueyue!

When Ling Yueyue saw her family’s names on the guest list, her expression changed slightly, becoming somewhat displeased, ”Why invite them? I don’t want to see them! If they come, a good full moon party will surely be disrupted by them! A child only has one full moon celebration once in their lifetime, and I don’t want any regrets!”

Although her father had frequently called to express concern during this time, she still felt that habits are hard to change; even if her father had changed slightly, her mother would never change, as the saying goes, a leopard never changes its spots!

She certainly did not want her precious daughter’s one and only full moon celebration to be ruined by her own family!
