Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 1138 -1180: Filing a Complaint

Although I was a bit surprised to see Huo Jiantian today, the overall atmosphere of this family is still very nice, and I quite like it! If I can come over often in the future to see Yueyue and Tiantian, I would have no regrets in this life, and I would be very satisfied!

Then Ling Shenglan seemed to remember something and slapped her forehead forcefully, apologetically saying, “Oh no, I didn’t know there was Tiantian too, so I only prepared a gift for Tiantian! Oh dear, what a mistake, I should have prepared two gifts, now it’s all messed up, sigh…!”

Huo Junmo quickly said, “It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s our fault for not saying anything beforehand, it’s not your mistake! Besides, it’s fine just coming here, there’s no need to bring gifts!”

“Yes, yes, it’s the first meeting, definitely need to bring a gift!” As she spoke, she handed the bag in her hand to Huo Junmo, smiling as she said, “I didn’t know what to give Tiantian, so I bought a small golden lock instead, the salesperson said it can bless Tiantian with peace and safety every year! As for the gift I owe Tiantian, I’ll make it up next time I come!”

“Since this is your token of goodwill towards Tiantian, I won’t be polite then. I’ll accept it on her behalf, and thank you for her!” As he spoke, Huo Junmo stopped pretending to be polite with Ling Shenglan and took the bag she handed over, “Auntie, please do sit inside first!”

“Alright!” Ling Shenglan nodded, holding Tiantian while she finished, and followed Huo Junmo into the house, sitting down on the sofa. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

“Hehehe…!” Tiantian looked at Ling Shenglan’s unfamiliar face, not only did she not cry or fuss, but she also seemed to see an acquaintance, constantly nuzzling her little face against her clothes, her drool-covered little hands grabbing here and there on Ling Shenglan, in no time, Ling Shenglan’s clothes were all covered in Tiantian’s drool.

Despite this, Ling Shenglan didn’t mind at all, looking at Tiantian with eyes full of affection and excitement.

Seeing Ling Shenglan’s well-kept clothes being messed up by Tiantian, Huo Junmo said apologetically, “Auntie, why don’t I take Tiantian! Look at how dirty and wrinkled she’s made your clothes!”

Ling Shenglan quickly shook her head, refusing, “No need, no need, this is what children do, this is also the fun and innocence of children! Tiantian is already over five months old, and this is the first time I’ve seen her, I should hold her more and build a rapport with her!”

Looking at Tiantian’s cute little face, Ling Shenglan began to imagine the scene of her birth in her mind!

As she was playing with Tiantian, Ling Shenglan seemed to remember something and suddenly asked, “By the way, since Tiantian was born, have my brother and sister-in-law seen her, held her, or bought her gifts?”

“…!” Huo Junmo’s facial expression didn’t change, still maintaining that calm and collected look, but he also didn’t answer Ling Shenglan’s question!

At this moment, Huo Jiantian, who had been playing around with Ling Yueyue, suddenly came over, exclaiming loudly, “You mentioned Tiantian’s grandparents, they were so stingy, it’s embarrassing! When the wicked stepmother was giving birth to Tiantian, they didn’t even come to the hospital to take a look. Later, at Tiantian’s full moon banquet, after inviting so many guests, her grandma had the nerve to prepare a piece of tattered cloth for her, calling it a Hundred Families Cloth! I saw that Hundred Families Cloth was filthy, as if it had been picked up from a trash can! And not only that, Tiantian’s grandpa gave her a small golden monkey which her grandma took away, saying children can’t wear such valuable things! And, and…!” Just as Huo Jiantian was about to continue, Huo Junmo interrupted him, “Jiantian, enough, stop talking about it! Breakfast is ready, let’s go eat breakfast first!”

Huo Jiantian pouted, unwillingly saying, “Why can’t I talk about it? If they dared to do it, why are they afraid of me saying it! Even though I don’t like my grandparents, they treat me better than Tiantian’s grandparents treat her! I’ve never seen any grandparents treat their granddaughter like this! What’s more, the wicked stepmother hasn’t given them any less money, yet they’re so stingy! Plus, before Tiantian was born, Dad, didn’t you give them a million? So much money, and all they gave Tiantian was a tattered cloth!”

As soon as Huo Jiantian finished speaking, the hall suddenly became quiet!

Ling Yueyue and Ling Shenglan both widened their eyes, looking at Huo Junmo in disbelief!

Huo Junmo, with a stern face, asked unpleasantly, “Who did you hear that from? Who told you?”

“On the day of Tiantian’s full moon banquet, when I went to the restroom, I accidentally overheard Tiantian’s grandparents talking in the corridor! I heard Tiantian’s grandpa say that since Dad gave them a million, they should prepare a decent gift for Tiantian, then Tiantian’s grandma said that Dad’s giving them money was only right and proper, saying that Tiantian doesn’t have the right to ask for their gifts. She also said that the money was saved for their four children, so why should it be used to buy Tiantian gifts!” Huo Jiantian recounted everything he had heard, all in one breath.

When he finished, not only did Ling Yueyue and Ling Shenglan look unhappy, but even the usually composed Huo Junmo’s face darkened rapidly.

Ling Yueyue’s cheeks flushed, angrily asking, “When did you give them a million? Why did you give them so much money?”

Huo Jiantian promptly defended Huo Junmo, “Wicked stepmother, don’t blame Dad, I overheard Tiantian’s grandpa say that when Dad gave them a million, he made them promise to treat you better in the future, and buying gifts for Tiantian wouldn’t cost much, it could also be considered as being nice to you!”

Hearing Huo Jiantian say this, Ling Yueyue suddenly understood! She finally realized why her father’s attitude towards her completely changed before Tiantian was born!

Before that, in the span of a year, apart from asking for money, there was never a phone call!

But in the run-up to Tiantian’s birth, he was regularly calling to check on her and ask about her situation.

At the time, she was still slightly touched, thinking her father had a change of heart and wanted to be good to her! She never expected that her father’s kindness to her was all because he got money from Huo Junmo!

Thinking of that, she couldn’t help but feel her anger rising.

As if the tension wasn’t awkward enough, Huo Jiantian began tugging at Ling Shenglan, continuing, “Grand-aunt, you have no idea, Tiantian’s grandparents were over the line! At Tiantian’s full moon banquet, not only did they not give anything, but they also wanted Dad to bring the wicked stepmother’s four younger siblings to the city, let them study here, and even wanted my dad to support them! When the wicked stepmother didn’t agree, they made a fuss at Tiantian’s full moon banquet! Don’t you think they’re awful! I can’t stand them!”
