Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 1113: Chapter 1155: Layers of Suspicion

Over the past six months, she’s basically been at home taking care of her pregnancy and the child, so it’s quite normal that her aunt couldn’t get any news about her!

Even though Ling Yueyue’s attitude was cold from start to finish, Ling Shenglan did not mind at all and still excitedly asked, ”Yueyue, have you been doing well over these years I’ve been away? Have you suffered a lot? You’ve grown up so much in just a few years, from that naive little girl into an adult!”

Ling Yueyue replied blandly, ”It’s been five years, of course, I’ve changed a lot!”

No matter how Ling Yueyue’s attitude was, Ling Shenglan persistently asked, ”Have you been doing well these years? When I left, you were only in the second year of high school! Are your brother and sister-in-law treating you well? When I was around, they always handed your monthly allowance to me. After I left, did they give the allowance to you directly?”

”Allowance?” Hearing Ling Shenglan’s words, Ling Yueyue sneered dismissively.

Even she felt embarrassed to say it; if her aunt hadn’t personally mentioned that her parents gave her a monthly allowance to take care of her, she would have really thought that the money her aunt used to raise her was entirely out of her own pocket!

Because ever since her aunt left, not only did her parents not give her a single cent, but they even went to great lengths to empty the money she earned from working!

Such behavior made it hard for her not to be suspicious.

Seeing Ling Yueyue’s expression, Ling Shenglan frowned, ”Why? They didn’t give you the allowance?”

Ling Yueyue laughed at herself, ”Shouldn’t you ask your brother and sister-in-law about these things?”

Ling Shenglan’s already furrowed brows tightened even more because of Ling Yueyue’s words! Although Ling Yueyue didn’t say it, she could almost be certain that in the five years she was away, her brother and sister-in-law definitely didn’t give Yueyue any allowance!

Just when Ling Shenglan was about to inquire again, Ling Yueyue’s phone rang from her pants pocket.

Ling Yueyue glanced at Ling Shenglan, moved the two shopping bags to one hand, and then took out her phone from her pocket. Seeing it was Huo Junmo calling, she quickly answered and placed it to her ear, softly saying, ”Hello!”

On the other end, Huo Junmo anxiously asked, ”Yueyue, where are you now? Why didn’t you pick up when I called earlier?”

Ling Yueyue, not avoiding Ling Shenglan beside her at all, truthfully replied, ”I’m shopping at Blue Sky Building! But I’ve already finished and am about to head back!”

Huo Junmo said, ”Then wait for me there for a bit, I’ll be at the entrance of Blue Sky Building in ten minutes!”

”Okay!” Ling Yueyue nodded and then hung up the phone, placing it back in her pocket.

Ling Shenglan, who had been quietly standing by her side, sneaked a glance at Ling Yueyue and tentatively asked, ”Who was that calling you?”

Ling Yueyue raised an eyebrow and asked, ”You don’t know?”

She thought, since her aunt already returned half a year ago, she should have sought out her parents by now and should know about her marriage!

However, looking at her aunt now, it seemed she was unaware!

Ling Shenglan was taken aback and puzzled, ”Should I know?”

Ling Yueyue didn’t answer her question and asked back, ”You’ve been back for so long, have you looked for my parents?”

”I did! After spending a month looking for you without success, I went back to the hometown to ask my brother and sister-in-law about you! However, they said they’ve lost contact with you for a long time and don’t know where you are either?” Ling Shenglan said while sneaking a look at Ling Yueyue’s expression!

Actually, she was worried Ling Yueyue would be sad, so she phrased it more gently!

Five months ago, after searching fruitlessly for Yueyue, she specifically made a trip back to the countryside hometown! When she asked about Yueyue’s whereabouts, her sister-in-law said Yueyue despised them for being poor and hadn’t returned to their hometown in five years, even feared being dragged down by them, so she broke off contact long ago. They didn’t know anything about Yueyue, let alone where she was!

At first, she didn’t believe it! She had raised Yueyue until the age of fifteen, and she understood Yueyue’s personality. She knew Yueyue wouldn’t disdain her parents for being poor! But seeing how convincingly her sister-in-law spoke, she couldn’t think of any reason for her to lie, so she gradually believed her sister-in-law’s words!

However, it now seems like Yueyue is indeed doing well! Although she was dressed simply in a trench coat and jeans, it was clear her clothes were expensive! And her skin and complexion looked radiant, completely different from before.

Hearing this, Ling Yueyue couldn’t help but roll her eyes, ”They don’t know where I am? Ridiculous!”

Although she didn’t know why her parents hid her whereabouts from her aunt, she couldn’t be bothered to ask!

Five years ago, her aunt left her alone in Jin City to move abroad with her uncle, so she didn’t really feel that her aunt cared for or liked her!

So, she had already seen through it and didn’t have any expectations anymore!

Ling Shenglan naturally detected the sarcasm in Ling Yueyue’s words and asked puzzledly, ”You mean, they’ve always known about your situation?”

Ling Yueyue didn’t answer Ling Shenglan but said courteously: ”I’m in a hurry now, I have to go. What time is your flight tomorrow? If possible, I’ll come to see you off!”

Thinking that Huo Junmo would arrive soon, Ling Yueyue didn’t want to keep him waiting, especially since there were a lot of people at the entrance of Blue Sky Building at this time. If the car stayed too long, it could cause a traffic jam, and she didn’t want to hear a chorus of curses when she went out.

Moreover, though her aunt left her when she was fifteen, they did live together for fifteen years. She’s leaving tomorrow, and it’s only right and proper for her to see her off.

Ling Shenglan shook her head, excitedly saying, ”Now that I’ve found you, I want to stay a bit longer, I have some things I want to say to you! If you’re in a hurry today, just give me your phone number, and I’ll call you!”

Ling Yueyue blinked and gave Ling Shenglan a curious look! Though she was puzzled about what her aunt wanted to discuss with her, she dutifully gave her number to her.

”I’m leaving! Let’s keep in touch!” After Ling Shenglan saved her phone number, Ling Yueyue picked up her things and prepared to leave.

Seeing her about to go, Ling Shenglan couldn’t help but call out to her, ”Yueyue, after all these years apart, don’t you have anything to say to me?”

At the very least, she should save her phone number, right!

Just now, only she saved her phone number, and Ling Yueyue hadn’t asked for hers.

Did she not intend to contact her from the beginning?

Ling Yueyue stopped her steps and looked back at Ling Shenglan.
