The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

”I’ll find some time to visit your place.”

Xiao Yuan didn’t commit fully, just vaguely said, ”I’ve been in seclusion recently, and after coming out, I felt a change in your aura. To determine what kind of change, I need to see you and visit where you live.”

”That sounds great.”

Liu San was thrilled to hear this: ”Master, do you have time tomorrow? Maybe we can take a look then. To be honest, things haven’t been going well for me these past few days.”

Xiao Yuan thought for a while: ”Alright, come pick me up tomorrow.”

Liu San quickly agreed: ”Alright, alright, I’ll come pick you up tomorrow. You’ve surely improved your skills after this seclusion. Congratulations, Master! I must treat you to a meal tomorrow.”

Liu San had a sweet tongue and high emotional intelligence, and in just a few words, he flattered Xiao Yuan.

Xiao Yuan had a faint smile on his face: ”Come pick me up at nine in the morning. Alright, you’re eating right now, so I’ll hang up.”

After hanging up, Liu San started bragging to his friends: ”A master is truly amazing. None of you spoke just now, and this room is soundproofed well, no other noise at all, yet the master knew I was eating. Incredible.”

Those dining with Liu San were all his close friends, one of them even worked under Bao Bufen.

When he heard Liu San mentioning the master, he took notice.

After all, these people knew Bao Bufen had been searching for a genuine and capable master recently.

His name was Lv Zhiguo, and he put down his chopsticks to ask Liu San: ”Brother San, what master are you talking about? Sounds like you know someone incredible. Can you introduce the brothers some day?”

Liu San chuckled: ”I got lucky. I met him years ago, and it’s been smooth sailing at home ever since all thanks to his guidance.”

Liu San then recounted how he met Xiao Yuan and how Xiao Yuan helped him.

”You have no idea, this man is truly remarkable.”

Turns out, Liu San met Xiao Yuan five years ago.

Back then, Liu San had a fight with his wife, and went out late at night to clear his mind, and ran into Xiao Yuan.

In a small park on the street, Liu San encountered Xiao Yuan, who was sitting under a tree in the park, cross-legged, seemingly meditating or something.

As Liu San walked past Xiao Yuan, Xiao Yuan spoke without opening his eyes: ”Don’t go any further, it’s unlucky.”

Liu San paused, and upon a closer look, realized someone was sitting under the tree.

He was feeling annoyed, and having bumped into someone by chance, plopped down next to Xiao Yuan: ”Unlucky how? There are people passing through this place all the time. Could something really happen?”

Just as he finished speaking, a brick flew straight at him.

Liu San broke out in a cold sweat.

If not for Xiao Yuan stopping him, if he’d walked a few steps further, that brick would have hit him on the head.

”Who, who are you?”

Frightened, Liu San addressed Xiao Yuan with respect, feeling he had met a sage.

Xiao Yuan ignored Liu San.

When it came to maintaining an air of mystery, Xiao Yuan was highly skilled.

He got up and started walking forward.

Liu San hurried to catch up, and just like that, followed Xiao Yuan all the way to his apartment building.

As Xiao Yuan was going upstairs, he glanced back at Liu San: ”Since you followed me here, it means we are fated. Come by tomorrow morning, and I’ll give you some advice.”

Liu San was overjoyed, forgetting all about his quarrel with his wife.

The next day, Liu San bought many things and brought some money with him.

Even if Xiao Yuan didn’t give him advice, he felt he had to thank him for saving his life the previous night.

When Liu San arrived, Xiao Yuan was already waiting for him at home.

Liu San respectfully placed the items down, then took the money out from his pocket to hand over: ”Master, thank you for saving my life last night. This is a small token of my appreciation.”

Xiao Yuan didn’t take the money but looked at the coffee table.

Liu San quickly placed the money on the coffee table.

Only then did Xiao Yuan say: ”Sit.”

Liu San sat down, and Xiao Yuan frowned while examining Liu San’s face: ”Your facial features suggest moderate wealth. Though not enormously rich, you won’t have to worry about food or drink in this life. However... yesterday, I resolved your immediate disaster, but I can’t alter your fate for a lifetime. This is tricky.”

Liu San was terrified: ”Master, you must help me. Although I may be timid, I’ve never done anything against my conscience or wronged anyone. I’m still young; I don’t want to die.”

Xiao Yuan pondered for a long while: ”Fine, I’ll go to your home with you and take a look.”

After that, Liu San took Xiao Yuan to his home, where Xiao Yuan arranged his home furniture and told him to buy some magic artifacts to place. They also paid a visit to Liu San’s ancestral grave, where Xiao Yuan instructed him on how to burn incense and set up a tombstone.

Unbelievably, ever since Xiao Yuan gave Liu San guidance, Liu San’s family started prospering.

First, the county expanded, and Liu San’s family had an old house, much larger, and right on the edge of where a big park in the county was being constructed. When the park was being built, a real estate company took interest in the area where Liu San’s old house stood.

Primarily, it was the county’s largest park, and after it’s built, the environment vastly improved, attracting many people to live there. If houses were built, they would surely fetch a good price.

So, Liu San sold the old house. Of course, he didn’t sell all of it, but exchanged it for some cash and two park-view apartments at the park’s edge.

Taking the money, Liu San figured he couldn’t just leave it sitting there, so he bought two houses in the city: one paid in full, the other with a down payment. He planned to rent out the fully paid one and use the rent to pay off the mortgage.

Not long after he bought the two houses, a key secondary school moved nearby, turning those houses into school district properties and nearly doubling their value.

Seeing the increase in house prices, Liu San sold both properties. After selling, his wife said she wanted to start something new. Coincidentally, there was a pig farm for sale by her family that wasn’t doing well, so Liu San checked it out. He found that the pigs on the farm were healthy, and not having other skills, thought raising pigs with his wife could work. After all, he had both money and homes now, so there was no fear of losses.

Liu San took the earnings to buy two more houses in the county and invested the rest in the pig farm.

After two years raising pigs with his wife, their pig farm began to thrive.

Initially, when they invested, there were only two or three hundred pigs. After two years of work, they were raising over a thousand.

As the pig farm prospered, pork prices soared significantly, far from just a little increase.

By the time Liu San’s thousand pigs were ready for market, the cost he paid for them initially was low, but the market price for live pigs had risen to almost twenty-one Yuan per kilogram. From this batch alone, Liu San made four to five million Yuan.

Most importantly, Liu San had consulted Xiao Yuan before starting the pig farm. Only after Xiao Yuan affirmed its feasibility did Liu San proceed. When they started, Xiao Yuan even came to inspect the Feng Shui, saying it was excellent, and advised him to raise a few more breeding pigs, especially sows.

Before pork prices surged, Liu San had already raised several sows, allowing his pig farm to breed internally without purchasing from outside. So, even though pork prices rose, his profits remained substantial.

For this reason, Liu San held Xiao Yuan in high esteem, almost obeying his every word.

Liu San shared his stories with Xiao Yuan, astonishing his friends: ”So that’s why you silently struck it rich. You stumbled upon a master.”

Lv Zhiguo kept this in mind and raised his glass: ”From what Brother San said, you’re having the master come to your home to look at your Feng Shui tomorrow?”

Liu San nodded: ”Yes, the master said there’s something at home, so I need him to take a look to put my mind at ease.”

Lv Zhiguo eagerly asked: ”Can I join you tomorrow? I’d like to witness it.”

Liu San looked troubled: ”Well... I’ll have to ask the master.”
