The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 243: Chapter 241: Slapping the Apocalypse Reborn Woman 22

Yin Baichuan thought Xiao Yuan was Anning’s boyfriend, so he treated him with even more enthusiasm.

Xiao Yuan took this opportunity to inquire a lot about Anning.

The more he learned about Anning, the more excited Xiao Yuan became.

He admitted that Anning had completely captured his heart and mind.

Upon arriving at the Yin Family home, Xiao Yuan got out of the car and saw Jixiang and Ruyi playing in the courtyard.

Jixiang and Ruyi turned their heads when they heard the noise, and they also saw Xiao Yuan.

Jixiang put down what she was playing with and ran over to hug Xiao Yuan’s leg: ”Uncle Xiao.”

Xiao Yuan was taken aback for a moment, then he bent down to pick up Jixiang: ”You must be Jixiang.”

Jixiang blinked: ”How do you know who I am?”

Xiao Yuan chuckled: ”I heard your aunt calling you.”

Ruyi saw Xiao Yuan pick up Jixiang and ran over as well.

She looked up at Jixiang, then at Xiao Yuan: ”Uncle Xiao, I want to ask you a question.”

Xiao Yuan, holding Jixiang, squatted down.

He looked Ruyi in the eye, his face serious: ”Go ahead and ask, I promise to answer properly.”

Ruyi tilted her head, looking very adorable: ”Uncle Xiao, do you like my Aunt or not?”

”Yes.”

The smile on Xiao Yuan’s face grew, and he touched Ruyi’s head: ”I really like your aunt.”

Jixiang wriggled out of Xiao Yuan’s embrace, a serious expression on her chubby face: ”Is it that special kind of like, the kind where you can’t be without her?”

Xiao Yuan thought these two kids were really funny.

Such young kids asking these earnest questions, it was quite amusing indeed.

But, he still answered seriously: ”Yeah, that special kind of like, the kind where I can’t be without her.”

Jixiang looked at Ruyi.

Ruyi understood: ”Then, we’ll allow you to pursue our aunt, but if you marry her, you have to take us with you.”

Jixiang added: ”First you have to treat my aunt well, really really well, you have to cherish her, spoil her, and protect her when others bully her, otherwise, I...”

Jixiang struggled to find a threatening word, scratching his head anxiously: ”It’s a pity I’m my aunt’s nephew, or else, when I grow up I’d marry my aunt.”

Xiao Yuan couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Yin Baichuan, who was listening on the side, also struggled to hold back his laughter.

Upon hearing Yin Baichuan’s laughter, Xiao Yuan quickly pulled Jixiang and Ruyi over: ”Uncle Yin, let’s go inside.”

As they were entering the house, Xiao Yuan asked Jixiang: ”Is my aunt here?”

Jixiang shook her head: ”My aunt is not here; she has been very busy recently, and we often don’t see her.”

Ruyi bit her finger: ”My aunt is very impressive; you having an eye for her shows you have good taste.”

Xiao Yuan looked down at Ruyi: ”I do like your aunt, but if your aunt doesn’t like me, then isn’t all that you’ve said for nothing?”

”Not at all.”

Ruyi, still a child, was quickly coaxed by Xiao Yuan: ”My aunt really likes you.”

Xiao Yuan’s heart sped up instantly, a sense of joy rising from the bottom of his heart.

He felt the excitement and joy left his whole body somewhat numb, even the palms of his hands and soles of his feet felt warm.

”Children shouldn’t talk nonsense.”

Ruyi pouted in annoyance: ”I’m not talking nonsense; I can tell who my aunt likes. There was an uncle who really liked my aunt before; he frequently drove my aunt home and also tried to please us, but my aunt didn’t like him at all.”

”Dumb Ruyi.”

Jixiang was exasperated, pulling Ruyi and running inside the house: ”How can you be so dumb, how can you tell him that Auntie likes him? If he knows, he won’t seriously pursue Auntie, and then Auntie will be at a disadvantage.”

Upon hearing this, Ruyi also realized and quickly covered her mouth, blinking her big eyes a few times, she yelled assertively at Xiao Yuan: ”I was just talking nonsense, my aunt doesn’t like you at all, she only likes us, nobody else but us.”

Then, just as Yin Xuyang happened to walk by.

Upon seeing Yin Xuyang, Ruyi quickly corrected herself: ”She also likes Brother Xuyang.”

Jixiang grabbed Yin Xuyang’s hand: ”Or, Brother Xuyang, you should hurry up and grow up. Once you’re grown up, I’ll allow you to pursue my aunt.”

Xiao Yuan’s face instantly turned red.

Xiao Yuan’s face, however, turned black in a flash.

”Who wants to chase after me?”

Anning’s voice rang out.

Seeing her coming in, Jixiang nervously hid behind Ruyi: ”Nothing, nothing at all.”

Anning quickly walked up to Jixiang: ”Did you blurt out something again?”

By now, Ruyi had betrayed her own brother: ”Auntie, brother said that when Brother Xuyang grows up, he should marry you.”

Anning chuckled lightly: ”That won’t do, when Xuyang is all grown up, I’ll be old, then wouldn’t Xuyang be at a disadvantage?”

Yin Xuyang became anxious: ”Even if you’re old, I’ll still marry you.”

Yin Baichuan was standing aside enjoying the spectacle, already laughed over by the couch by the children.

Mrs. Yin, who was initially carrying out some fruit, couldn’t stop laughing upon hearing this.

Anning acted as if nothing was amiss, sitting down with Jixiang and Ruyi, serving them fruit, and giving them some water to drink, all the while not glancing at Xiao Yuan once.

Xiao Yuan touched his nose and took a seat next to Yin Baichuan.

He seemed to be talking to Yin Baichuan, but his eyes couldn’t help but sneak glances at Anning every now and then.

After taking care of Jixiang and Ruyi with fruit and water, Anning stood up to take her leave from the Yin couple.

Mrs. Yin asked her to stay for dinner, but she declined, saying she had things to do back home and couldn’t stay long, taking Jixiang and Ruyi with her.

Mrs. Yin chased after them with some snacks: ”These are for Jixiang and Ruyi. They really like them. Take these with you, but make sure to watch them, don’t let them eat too much.”

Anning smiled and thanked her, unreservedly accepting the food.

Jixiang and Ruyi waved goodbye to Mrs. Yin, who smiled as she watched the three of them walk away.

As soon as Anning left, Xiao Yuan became dispirited, not staying long after the meal at the Yin’s, and soon took his leave.

Xiao Yuan did not stay very long in South City; he left South City three days after his visit to the Yin family.

Around the time Xiao Yuan left South City, Anning began constructing a pharmaceutical plant.

Within two months, the news began to spread about Anning’s development of a revolutionary drug that cures diabetes.

With just this one drug, she established her pharmaceutical plant, and now the factory is running three shifts a day, but still couldn’t keep up with patients’ demand for the medication.

One could say, this drug brought Anning huge inflows of money.

Qing University, upon hearing the news, reached out to Anning, asking her to come back to give a presentation and to encourage her to continue her studies.

Anning thought it was about time to return to the Capital, so she packed her things and bid farewell to the Yin family.

When Yin Baichuan heard Anning was returning to the Capital, he laughed: ”What a coincidence, I also happen to be going to the Capital for some business. Let’s go together, it’s good to have some company on the road.”

Anning agreed without a second thought.

After Mrs. Yin took Xiao Xing and Xuyang out, Yin Baichuan whispered to Anning: ”Do you know about the Xu Family in the Capital?”

Anning nodded: ”I know.”

Yin Baichuan continued: ”Their family ran into some trouble, and they’ve been looking for a master to help. Knowing you had intentions of returning to the Capital, I recommended you to Old Xu. If you can solve their problem, you won’t have to worry about your safety in the Capital.”
