Task completed. Please claim the task reward.]

The notification sound for task completion now rang in Zhao Chen’s mind.

It seemed that as long as these 100 teachers and students from both academies were safely delivered to a starport outside the Interstellar Zerg-controlled area, the task would be considered complete.

The rescue target was 100 people, but Zhao Chen had saved nearly 200 this time, exceeding the task requirements. He wondered if the system would give extra rewards.

Zhao Chen focused his thoughts and claimed the task rewards.

[Claimed additional task reward. Obtained T3 Phantom Stinger-class Light Interstellar Stealth Bomber Technical Blueprint.]

[Claimed task reward. Obtained 20 Task Points and 6000 points.]

Task Points, System Points, and a starship blueprint.

Zhao Chen’s haul this time was truly substantial.

Opening Zhao Chen’s data panel revealed a large amount of points and Task Points, along with a series of starship technical blueprints not yet built or commissioned.

These were all Zhao Chen’s accumulated assets. Once the current situation was over, relying on these, he could build an incredibly powerful interstellar fleet!

”An interstellar stealth bomber... that’s a very rare and niche starship type.” Zhao Chen was very interested in this starship technology.

From his understanding, interstellar stealth bombers were very popular during the era when T2 starships served as the main combat vessels.

At that time, no one had star shields.

Because T3 interstellar stealth bombers focused on firepower, they were often equipped with medium to short-range stellar torpedo weapons.

Their firing range was relatively short, but their power was astonishing!

Relying on their stealth capabilities to get close, interstellar stealth bombers would unleash a barrage of firepower on the enemy’s main starships, achieving outstanding results.

However, the later emergence of T3 starships and star shield technology suddenly made interstellar stealth bombers fall out of favor.

The reason was simple.

With the advent of star shields, even T3-level interstellar stealth bombers found it difficult to achieve a ’decapitation’ effect during attacks on enemy ships.

T3 interstellar stealth bombers themselves were not heavily armored starships. If they couldn’t eliminate the enemy quickly, it meant they would face being surrounded and attacked by the enemy fleet while deep in hostile territory.

Although T3 interstellar stealth bombers could also be equipped with star shields, T3-level star shield technology could only protect one side. Venturing into enemy territory meant enemies would be on all sides.

Additionally, the construction cost of the T3 interstellar stealth bomber is extremely high, making its cost-effectiveness extremely low after such operations.

Gradually, it became a niche starship.

Zhao Chen wanted to see just how this niche starship produced by the system performed.

[Phantom Stinger-class Light Interstellar Stealth Bomber

Starship Type: Interstellar Stealth Bomber

Technology Level: T3

Hull Armor Strength: 1000–1200 Units

Stellar Shield Energy Value: 20,000 Units

Cruising Speed: 300 knots stellar speed

Warp Drive: Level Six Warp Drive

Length: 490 Meters

Mass: 120,000 Tons

Crew Complement: 50 Personnel

Starship Weapons: 10-unit vertical missile launch silo (10 optical mimicry missiles, 20 short-range heavy anti-ship missiles, 20 short-range heavy cluster bombs)

10-unit torpedo launch tube (200 heavy short-range particle torpedoes), 50 laser close-defense cannons.

Special Capability: Phantom Stinger stealth navigation mode (requires 10 seconds to enter stealth time)]

At a glance, Zhao Chen was stunned.

Leaving aside those terrifying firepower configurations, the most advanced piece of technology was this:

This T3-level starship was actually equipped with T4 star shield technology!

It was also the first interstellar warship to date equipped with T4 star shield technology.

What is the difference between T4 star shield technology and T3 star shield technology?

Simply put, T3 star shield technology can only defend one side, while T4 star shield technology can protect the entire starship!

Because maintaining T4 star shield technology requires a very powerful starship engine and energy system, only T4-level starship engines and energy systems have been able to support T4 star shield technology so far.

Thus, this was considered a quasi-technology for T4 interstellar warships!

And now, it appeared on a T3 interstellar stealth bomber.

This was like equipping an assassin with a powerful suit of armor.

Why did interstellar stealth bombers become niche?

Wasn’t it precisely because the target possessed a star shield, and its star shield could only defend one side, making it vulnerable to enemy ship encirclement and destruction?

Now, this T3 Phantom Stinger-class Light Interstellar Stealth Bomber possessed T4 star shield technology, and its stellar shield energy value was terrifyingly high, even surpassing that of the T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruiser!

What did this mean?

Zhao Chen was willing to call this starship a ”heavy armor” interstellar stealth bomber!

”This is simply the perfect weapon for executing decapitation operations against flagship ships of enemy fleets!” Zhao Chen was thrilled.

But when he calculated the construction cost of building such a T3 Phantom Stinger-class Light Interstellar Stealth Bomber, his expression turned bitter.

For just this one T3 Phantom Stinger-class Light Interstellar Stealth Bomber, with a length only half that of the T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruiser, the construction price was actually higher than that of the T3 Blizzard-class Light Interstellar Battlecruiser!

The single-unit construction cost was as high as 15 million Star Coins.

”Now I understand why this starship type became niche—it’s just too damn expensive.” Zhao Chen didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Although this starship could stealth, it didn’t mean it was invincible. During the period when weapons were being used for attacks, the starship would automatically exit stealth. Additionally, there were interstellar warships equipped with anti-stealth detection methods.

In short, except for specific battlefields, its cost-effectiveness was not particularly high.

”We can equip a small number, but there’s no need for mass production.” Zhao Chen rubbed his chin, making calculations in his mind.

For instance, tasks that aren’t suitable for being carried out openly could make use of this stealth starship!

That would be absolutely perfect.
