Journey to Planar World

Charlie was dead.

It was an undeniable fact.

In his current condition, even an ordinary person with a kitchen knife could have ended his life, let alone a Level 2 adventurer who was a superhuman in the eyes of the general public. The sharp dagger had plunged directly into his left chest, piercing the heart with fatal precision. Unless immediately healed by a Healer of the caliber of Airmid Teasanare or Heith Velvet, even a Level 9 adventurer would have to answer the afterlife’s final call.

”I did it! I actually did it! I killed Solo Leveling!”

The Evilus member who had driven the dagger home could not contain the euphoria exploding across his face. To him, this sensation was far more intoxicating than any atrocity he had committed before. The sheer satisfaction of murdering the figure at the very center of Orario’s attention made him drunk with triumph.

*PUCHI!*

However, in his surge of mad joy, he let his guard down. In the form of the Holy Sword Severian, Est streaked forward like a silver flash. Without mercy, the blade pierced the man’s chest from behind, erupting through his front.

”Eh?”

The assassin looked down, staring at the tip of the beautiful sword drenched in his own blood protruding from his chest. He tried to mutter something, but only a cough of blood escaped before his life vanished instantly. Meanwhile, the other intruder had already disappeared, fleeing across the roof the moment they realized their mission was complete.

”Onii-chan!”

Est returned to her human form. The girl, who was usually calm and expressionless, now had a face filled with grief as she wept hysterically while cradling Charlie’s lifeless body.

◆━⊰✿✧✿⊱━◆

Outside, Aishia, who had been clashing magics with Banshee, suddenly halted her movements. She turned slowly toward the house behind her.

”I see... You were all merely a distraction. The real assassination team came from the rear.”

”From your reaction, it seems your master is dead.”

Banshee felt something was amiss. Aishia’s composure after learning of Charlie’s death was utterly illogical. Did the Spirit not care about the life and death of her contractor? That was impossible. Spirits were known to love the humans they were contracted to with profound intensity, much like the tragic love triangle between the Water Spirit Dine and the Hero Fulland.

”Do you feel nothing over the death of Solo Leveling?” Banshee could not suppress her curiosity.

”If it were a true death, I would follow Charlie.”

”...?”

Banshee did not understand the meaning behind those words, and Aishia had no intention of explaining the secret behind them. Remembering that Charlie had indeed been murdered through such despicable methods, Aishia’s suppressed rage now exploded in the form of a terrifying, pure power.

Aishia thrust her hand into the air, and instantly, the atmosphere around the Empyrean Citadel seemed to be sucked into a single point. The sky, which had been clear, suddenly darkened with a storm. Giant currents of water appeared from thin air, swirling to form boiling water dragons, while razor-sharp wind vortices surrounded her every movement.

The destructive force was so massive that the street in front of the Empyrean Citadel was uprooted and ground into dust in an instant. The radiating light—burning red from the suddenly striking fire and deep blue from the compressed water—created a visual so blinding and grand that it forced the watching Gods and Goddesses to retreat even further.

Facing Aishia’s silent wrath, Banshee was completely overwhelmed. She tried to withstand the onslaught with her golden lightning, but her electrical shield shattered like glass before the Spirit Arts.

*BAM!*

A violent blast of air pressure slammed into Banshee’s body, throwing her through several layers of stone walls. Before she could even stand, a series of consecutive explosions hammered her position, leaving burns and deep gashes across her entire body until she vomited fresh blood, lying severely wounded in the center of a newly created crater.

*BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!*

Aishia continued to bombard her relentlessly, manipulating the elements with absurd proficiency. She created a firestorm that coiled around pillars of ice, then detonated them with air pressure in a single breath.

The sight thoroughly shattered the common sense of anyone watching, including the gods who usually looked down upon the abilities of mortals in their hearts. It was common knowledge in the lower world that every individual was limited by the law of the ”Three Magic Slots.” Once those three slots were filled, they could never learn a new magic, no matter how hard they tried. In fact, the majority of this world’s inhabitants spent their entire lives unable to awaken even a single magic. Those who mastered two or three were usually Mages of legendary reputation.

Yet, Aishia displayed an impossible phenomenon. She seemed able to use infinite magic, breaking the absolute boundaries believed in by humans and Gods alike.

”Do not think of escaping.”

Her eyes were locked on the blood-soaked Banshee. Her killing intent had reached its peak; Aishia would not let anyone who dared touch Charlie get away.

◆━⊰✿✧✿⊱━◆

Meanwhile, in the bedroom thick with the scent of blood and death, Est was drowning in a whirlpool of guilt. She knelt beside Charlie’s stiff body, her hands trembling violently as she stroked the man’s face.

”Why... Why do I always lose my contractor? My duty is to be the shield for my owner.” Est murmured in a sorrowful voice, her tears falling onto Charlie’s pale cheeks.

”First Areishia, and now Onii-chan... My presence truly is a curse. I am merely a sword of calamity that only knows how to bring misfortune to whoever holds my hilt.”

”I should have stayed there... I should have let myself be buried in dust inside that dark cave, forgotten by time in eternal solitude, rather than have to see you end like this because of my failure.”

Despair nearly swallowed Est’s sanity entirely, until a strange phenomenon occurred.

*FWOOSH!*

Suddenly, a thick, deep crimson flame enveloped Charlie’s entire body. The fire blazed with a terrifying intensity, yet strangely, the bedsheets beneath him were not even singed.

”This is...”

Est gasped. The warmth spreading from the fire nudged her memory, which had been dulled by grief. She stared at the flames with widening eyes, realizing she had forgotten something absolutely crucial.

”That’s right... Onii-chan can rise from the dead!”

Her eyes instantly sparkled with light. Her small hands clenched tightly over her chest. Est realized that Charlie was no ordinary human who could be stopped by a mere stab to the heart.

Charlie possessed a Noble Phantasm given by the Great Hero Heracles: God Hand.

Death was not the end for him!
