Journey to Planar World

”Of course. As per our previous agreement, you are entitled to two rewards for taking on the most difficult Quest.”

”Then—”

”But...!”

Gaia interrupted Charlie, who was about to state his request.

”Terms and conditions apply.”

”Huh? Terms... and conditions? This is the first time I’ve heard of such a thing. I thought there were no restrictions on the rewards I could request.”

His brow furrowed, Charlie felt like he had been scammed by a salesperson selling counterfeit goods.

”I forgot to mention it earlier. Tehee~☆”

”...”

Seeing Gaia stick out her tongue and put on an innocent, cute expression without a hint of guilt, Charlie could only grit his teeth in silence.

What else could he do? After all, the two women in front of him were his bosses.

”Sigh... So, what are the terms and conditions?”

After taking a deep breath to calm himself, Charlie could only hope that the terms and conditions imposed weren’t too strict.

It should be noted that the reward for successfully completing a Quest is a wish. In short, it’s like making a wish to Shenlong after collecting all seven Dragon Balls.

”There’s only one term and condition: you cannot request offensive or defensive items or abilities.”

”WHAT?!”

It was impossible for Charlie to remain calm after hearing that. He stared at Gaia and Alaya in shock.

No wonder he overreacted. After all, he had planned to use one of his rewards to request the Sword Balmung.

He had already been blessed with the Armor of Fafnir after successfully slaying the Evil Dragon Fafnir, which made him immune to many weapons. Naturally, he wanted the strongest Dragon-Slaying Sword, Balmung, to replace his severely damaged Sword of Damocles.

Now Gaia was telling him that Saviors were not allowed to request offensive or defensive items or abilities, so his plan to obtain Balmung was doomed before it even began.

”Although there’s only one term and condition, it’s very restrictive. If I may ask, I’d like to know the reason behind it?” Charlie asked, frustrated.

”Most worlds are xenophobic; they reject offensive and defensive items and abilities because they are not native to their world. If you were in the Type-Moon World, the Counter Force would send Guardians to eliminate individuals with foreign powers. Although most worlds don’t have a Counter Force as an innate protection system, the world’s consciousness will manipulate the laws of causality so that individuals with foreign powers face various difficulties, and may even be killed by the strongest individuals in that world.”

”...”

After listening to Gaia’s explanation, Charlie had no choice but to resign himself to it.

Fighting against the entire world?

His future self might be able to do it, but his current self couldn’t. So, he had to follow the rules if he didn’t want the Danmachi World to turn against him.

Setting aside the adventurers who weren’t particularly strong, there were countless gods and goddesses in the Danmachi World. It was impossible for Charlie to fight against the gods who had unsealed their Arcanum and could use their divine powers.

”So, Saviors can only request support-type items and abilities?”

”Bingo! You’re very sharp, Charlie. That’s right, unlike offensive and defensive items and abilities, which are heavily rejected, the world doesn’t care about the presence of support-type items and abilities.”

Gaia confirmed Charlie’s speculation, then asked him what he wanted.

”As long as it’s support-type, I’ll grant it. So, tell me your wish, Charlie.”

”Wait a minute, Gaia. What about the Armor of Fafnir on my body? After all, the Armor of Fafnir comes from the Type-Moon World. Plus, the Armor of Fafnir is classified as a defensive ability. Doesn’t that mean that as soon as I return, the Danmachi World will secretly play tricks behind my back without me realizing it?”

”You don’t need to worry about that; nothing bad will happen. It’s true that the Armor of Fafnir comes from the Type-Moon World, but it has already assimilated into your Falna and is considered a Skill. After all, you obtained the Armor of Fafnir after bathing in dragon blood; it’s the result of your own hard work, not a giveaway from someone else.”

”I see...”

Believing that Gaia wouldn’t lie about something this important, Charlie felt more at ease.

”Hurry up and tell me your wish. Don’t waste our time.”

Alaya, who had been silent until now, was starting to lose patience with all the talking. She liked peace and quiet and didn’t like the Void Sanctuary being visited by Saviors.

”Give me a moment to think.”

Leaning back in his chair, Charlie closed his eyes and began to think.

Meanwhile, Gaia and Alaya exchanged glances, not disturbing his thoughts.

Since the Void Sanctuary was not bound by time, all Saviors could be gathered at once after completing their Quests, and the rewards could be distributed simultaneously, which was more efficient than doing it one by one.

However, Gaia had deliberately delayed the return of the other Saviors for Charlie’s sake. She didn’t want the other Saviors to become jealous because Charlie received two rewards while they only got one.

In the previous two cycles, there had been cases of Saviors killing other Saviors while on Quests. Therefore, Gaia didn’t want the same situation to repeat itself.

”...”

Five minutes later, Charlie opened his eyes.

”Have you decided?” Gaia asked with a charming smile.

”Can my reward be the opportunity to visit a specific world?” Charlie answered with a question.

”Oh, what do you want to do?”

”Well, I need a new weapon. I doubt even the best blacksmith in Orario can repair the Sword of Damocles. Since my power has increased too quickly, ordinary weapons aren’t enough. I want a powerful weapon that can last me a long time.”

”That makes sense. However, didn’t I already tell you that offensive items would cause the world to turn against you?”

Gaia wondered if Charlie had forgotten her earlier warning.

”That’s why I’ll get it myself. Gaia, you said the Armor of Fafnir was exempted by the Danmachi World because it had assimilated with my Falna, right? Then the explanation is simple: I just need to assimilate the weapon with my Falna as well! That way, the Danmachi World won’t reject it.”

In his mind, Charlie had already formulated a plan. All that was left was for Gaia and Alaya to transport him to a specific world.

”Charlie, you’re very good at exploiting loopholes in the system. What do you think, Alaya?”

After listening to Charlie’s analysis, Gaia turned to Alaya beside her.

”Whatever. I don’t care,” Alaya said indifferently.

”Hmm... This can’t be considered a reward; we’re not giving you a weapon, you’re obtaining it yourself. We’re not some shady company that doesn’t give employees their due rights. Fine, consider the world-hopping as a bonus.”

”The summoning of Fafnir exceeded the upper limit of that world’s power; it was truly an unexpected event. Normally, that Quest shouldn’t have been accepted by a rookie Savior.”

”...”

The corner of his eye twitched, Charlie felt like he had heard something extraordinary. It turned out Gaia had carelessly misclassified the threat level of the Quest!

It had almost cost him his life!

”So, which world do you want to visit? By the way, since you’re entering that world through an illegal protocol, you only have three hours to stay before you’re expelled by the world’s consciousness. Make the most of your time, focus only on your goal, and don’t flirt with the pretty girls in that world.”

Ignoring Gaia’s last sentence, Charlie stated the world he wanted to visit.

”I want to go to the world—”
