The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1736: Chapter 1736: Missed

The speed at which darkness invaded was faster than everyone imagined. It was just a few minutes after Ji You was awakened when the darkness quickly enveloped everything, 1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds...

The speed was so fast that everyone felt like their vision went black, and they wanted to faint.

Ji You tried to steady her nervous heart, and asked, ”Where’s Old Niu?” She glanced around but didn’t see the figure of the Two-headed Bull.

”Look down,” He Bi said.

”???” Ji You frowned, looked down, and saw that the body of Old Yellow Bull had shrunk a circle, so much so that Ji You didn’t notice it at first. At this moment, Old Yellow Bull was beneath spacecraft X-N3848, its body tightly pressed against the hull of X-N3848, looking as if it was carrying the spaceship, but in reality, its skin was trembling incessantly, like a person shivering uncontrollably from fear...

What is this?

Fear? Coming from an animal’s natural instinct?

Ji You worked hard to make her voice stable and asked, ”Has it not tried to escape?”

”No,” He Bi shook his head, saying, ”Not only did it not run, but it also got closer to us. I even suspect that if its body shrinks to a certain extent, it would want to crawl inside our spaceship.”

Ji You frowned and said, ”I remember that Old Niu is usually quite afraid of death. Its failure to escape ahead of time means that the darkness outside is something it cannot handle.”

”Does it feel safer with us?” Chu Jiaojiao’s eyes lit up, ”Does that mean we might actually survive this ordeal?”

”What nonsense,” Yue Qiguang didn’t like hearing this and said coldly, ”Daddy has absolute confidence in defeating this mass of dark matter.”

”It’s coming...” Liu Fufeng’s tone carried a trace of worry, appearing listless.

Everyone became tense.

The next moment.

The spaceship suddenly trembled, the Two-headed Bull, out of fear, instinctively struggled a little, and with a slight move, it caused the spaceship to shake violently.

Ji You shouted sharply, ”Old Niu! Steady yourself, you are a Two-headed Bull who can stand firm even in space overlaps, believe in yourself!”

The shivering Old Yellow Bull trembled all over!

For the first time, it found the voice of this human little bug to be pleasant and not at all annoying.

Then——

Old Yellow Bull suddenly opened its mouth and bellowed loudly, ”Moo——”

That sound, like layer upon layer of ocean waves, surged continuously in all directions, and upon contact with the darkness, it was instantly swallowed clean.

The darkness continued to surge toward the spaceship’s location, getting closer and closer, Ji You pursed her lips and said to Old Yellow Bull, ”No matter what happens later, don’t move, listen to my command.”

Old Yellow Bull: ”Moo——”

[Tricking a bull.]

[Can’t hear you.]

[How am I supposed to hear you talk?]

...

Old Yellow Bull, face full of confusion, in the next second, the darkness suddenly covered it completely, and Old Yellow Bull’s voice abruptly stopped.

At that very moment, Ji You, He Bi, Chu Jiaojiao... everyone held hands, squeezed together, held their breaths, not daring to make a single move.

Then——

In the moment when darkness covered them, everyone found that the whole world turned black, eyes, ears, mouth, nose... felt nothing at all.

”Are... are we still alive?” Chu Jiaojiao asked.

No one answered.

Chu Jiaojiao felt a bit flustered, couldn’t help but reach out forcefully, clasping the hand in her palm, that hand was still warm, warm...

Then.

Ji You, the owner of the hand, slightly exerted force and held Chu Jiaojiao’s hand back.

Instantly, a weight lifted off Chu Jiaojiao’s heart.

Still alive.

It’s just they couldn’t see, but they were still alive.

That’s good.

Then everyone extended their hands one by one, unconsciously squeezing a little harder, to ensure the safety of those around them.

All alive.

It seemed that they had only lost sight and hearing, everything else was as usual, Ji You relaxed a bit in her heart, at that moment, not only Ji You, everyone had the same thought.

So——

Could they maintain the status quo, waiting for the darkness to dissipate on its own?

Is it possible?

Clearly not possible.

Ji You frowned, thinking about what method to use to communicate with the people around her, whether to write directly in the palm of their hands?

Or try to communicate using spiritual power?

Without thinking, Ji You decided to use spiritual power for Sound Wave Transmission. As soon as this idea emerged, before she could act, she felt a tightness in her chest.

It seemed as if something was restraining her spiritual power.

This restriction brought great oppression to Ji You.

Ji You stopped.

At the same time, she felt several words coming from her palm, it was from Senior He Bi.

[Spiritual power doesn’t work.]

Ji You frowned, it seemed that Senior He Bi had the same thought and had tried only to fail.

However, Senior He Bi did not mention experiencing an oppressive force on his spiritual power. Is it because his Spiritual Silk Cleaning Rate is low that he can’t feel it?

Ji You slightly moved her fingertips, writing down her confusion.

He Bi understood and couldn’t help but be astonished.

What is hidden in this darkness? Ji You’s spiritual power sensed an oppressive force, yet he felt nothing, what does this indicate?

Does the other party not care about his spiritual power?

Is his Spiritual Level low?

Not special enough?

Or...

He Bi frowned deeply, his whole body tense, not daring to be negligent.

Silence.

A deathlike silence.

Everyone present couldn’t help but feel as if everything had dissolved, and the whole world was left only with themselves.

Then——

Chu Jiaojiao couldn’t help but grab Ji You’s hand again, but suddenly froze because she felt as if she was holding a cold, withered twig, devoid of any warmth.

”What’s going on?”

”Ji You?”

”Where are you?” Chu Jiaojiao, in shock, almost flung away the ’withered twig’ in her hand, but thought of something and didn’t move.

Undoubtedly, Ji You did not reply to her, not just Ji You, there was no sound from anyone, not a living person, nor a trace of warmth, only an increasingly cold feeling, colder and colder...

Chu Jiaojiao refused to believe it, she couldn’t help but move closer to Ji You, trying to sense Ji You’s presence, undoubtedly, Chu Jiaojiao only felt cold, she didn’t find another person, a living person beside her.

Where did Ji You disappear to?

In panic, Chu Jiaojiao dared not let go of her hand, moved to her left, Sheng Qingyan was on her left, moving that way, Chu Jiaojiao felt as if she grasped empty air!

”No one?”

Chu Jiaojiao stared wide-eyed, ”How is that possible?” ℯ

”How is it that there’s no one left?”

Chu Jiaojiao’s voice raised, ”Spicy Eye?”

”Ji You?”

”Where are you guys?” In her anxiety, Chu Jiaojiao lost track of when she had let go of her hand, but all of a sudden, she felt a chill covering her whole body.
