The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

“We should keep the details about this Mecha to ourselves and not share them outside,” He Bi said intentionally glancing at Liu Fufeng. Liu Fufeng looked slightly startled, then nodded.

In the silence, the two seemed to reach a consensus.

Chu Jiaojiao and the others, one by one, expressed that they had no interest in spreading the word.

Little Golden Dragon nestled in Ji You’s arms, with its head drooping, looking like a frostbitten eggplant, dispirited.

Ji You reached out, rubbed its head, and said, “Mecha, life is like this. Storms are everywhere, ready to catch us off guard at any moment. But, after the storm comes the dazzling rainbow, a spotless clear sky.”

“If you trust me, let’s join hands and strive for that rainbow and spotless sky.”

“Mecha?” Ji You raised her voice.

“… Hmph, woman, just you wait and see. I will definitely become the greatest Mecha in this world, no exceptions,” Little Golden Dragon proudly lifted its head, standing tall and confident as it looked at He Bi, Shen Changqing, Liu Fufeng…

“Hmm.” Ji You laughed softly, “Put on a good show for those who underestimate you, the comeback story of a disabled Small Mecha!”

Little Golden Dragon: “…”

What the heck.

Why does it sound so awkward?

Still, Little Golden Dragon nodded vigorously, “Hmm.”

Then—

Little Golden Dragon suddenly leaped out of Ji You’s embrace, so quickly that Ji You didn’t react, and soon, Little Golden Dragon flew straight toward He Bi’s forehead, landing swiftly on his head.

He Bi smirked, “You’re not worried I’m going to hurt you?”

Little Golden Dragon raised its chin proudly, “As an opponent, you don’t measure up. Do you think Lord Heavenly Dog can be easily harmed by anyone?”

He Bi laughed, then plucked it off his head, holding it in his hand, saying, “Come on, I need a gene within you to help locate their direction.”

Although Little Golden Dragon had a premonition, hearing this made it pat its chest, saying, “Leave it to me.”

He Bi couldn’t resist laughing, “You’re quite confident, aren’t you?”

Little Golden Dragon snorted, “Confidence or not, it has to be done. How could Lord Heavenly Dog ever back down? Of course, I’m going all in.”

After all, Mr. Ji said to work hard together, to become the strongest Mecha in the Universe.

So, of course, it had to give its all.

He Bi nodded, “Alright.”

Little Golden Dragon narrowed its eyes, “So, you damned man, can you let go of me now?” Do you know holding me like this greatly affects the mighty and heroic image of Lord Heavenly Dog?

Doesn’t it need to save face?

He Bi said, “Okay, but you can only stand on my shoulder, not stand on my head, otherwise, I think you look cuter like this.”

Little Golden Dragon’s face darkened, and finally, it agreed somewhat helplessly.

So—

He Bi released his grip, allowing Little Golden Dragon to climb onto his shoulder, steadying itself. It raised its head, looked around, and felt that standing on a shoulder just didn’t offer as far and high a view as standing on a head…

Indeed—

Ji You was easier to talk to, letting it step on her face and head every day… she didn’t mind.

Having just left Ji You for less than a minute, Little Golden Dragon was already pondering the benefits of Mr. Ji, no, no…

It must be strong and learn to be independent.

Little Golden Dragon put on a stern face, with a heart inexplicably complex.

On this side.

He Bi took Little Golden Dragon away, while the others also had their own responsibilities. Ji You needed some time to rest, so Ji You naturally lay down on the deck.

Then.

Ji You’s snoring was soon heard from the deck.

Next to her, Liu Fufeng, eyes slightly shut, was feigning sleep. Unlike Ji You, Liu Fufeng’s hands didn’t stop. His two fingers flew incessantly, crafting a lifelike butterfly that seemed about to dance…

The butterfly had a pair of beautiful wings, two tentacles, and several slender legs…

Then.

Liu Fufeng released his fingers, letting the butterfly fall from mid-air, landing on the deck.

It couldn’t fly.

How could a Paper Butterfly possibly fly?

Not even in dreams could such beautiful things happen.

…

Liu Fufeng lowered his gaze slightly, watching the Paper Butterfly at his feet for a few seconds. He then reached out, picked it up, and rubbed it hard in his hand, making the lifelike Paper Butterfly vanish, leaving only a crumpled stack of paper.

…

The spaceship was moving, though it couldn’t yet accurately pinpoint the location of those extraterrestrial beings. Even so, it traversed freely through the previously broken grids.

Without obstacles from the grids, this place felt like a sky truly belonging to the human world, where X-N3848 roamed unhindered. Even outside the spaceship, merely wearing protective clothing allowed entry into the air, with no harm to the body whatsoever.

This environment had already been tested by He Bi and others.

At this moment, He Bi was leading the flight in his Mecha with Little Golden Dragon, the spaceship followed behind, continuously moving forward.

“Any feeling in this direction?” He Bi squinted, asking Little Golden Dragon in the Mecha’s co-pilot seat.

Little Golden Dragon shook its head, “No.”

He Bi said, “Then change course. Head toward coordinates 45 degrees.”

Little Golden Dragon replied, “Okay.”

Then.

He Bi immediately maneuvered the Mecha, changing direction. Simultaneously, the driver on X-N3848, Shen Changqing, swiftly adjusted the navigation direction.

After moving forward for about 5 minutes, He Bi asked, “How about this direction?”

“No.” Little Golden Dragon answered firmly, without hesitation, frowning, “I have no feelings whatsoever.”

It heard the sound of a particular creature.

Twice.

Moreover, when Little Golden Dragon heard the sound, it felt a bloodline connection in its eyes, a strange feeling without rationale. It previously found it odd… However, after the conversation between He Bi and Liu Fufeng, Little Golden Dragon felt it might have grasped something.

Could it be a connection at the biological gene level?

Because there might be those creatures’ genes within itself?

If so, then perhaps through these genes, it could indeed find their location.

…

Hearing this, He Bi frowned slightly, then said, “Keep changing position. This time, we’ll try an opposite direction.”

“Hmm.” Little Golden Dragon agreed without comment, nodded with a stern face, then couldn’t help but complain, “This Mecha is so garbage, the operating system is so primitive, needing instruction after instruction to send, not stylish at all. If it were me, I’d understand with just one command and operate automatically.”
