The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1545: Chapter 1545: Trendsetting Tank Tops

On the corridor of the first-to-second-year student dormitory area, there were students running everywhere, all dressed in small vests and large shorts. Nolan Augustine felt that his shirt and suit pants outfit made him look out of place, almost like an alien, unable to blend in.

Nolan Augustine took a deep breath and decided to ignore these external things and continue running.

The second-year student Ji You had already run far ahead. If he didn’t hurry and catch up, he wouldn’t be able to talk to her today.

Thus.

Nolan Augustine picked up the pace.

Whoosh—

He shot ahead quite a bit.

Then.

Nolan Augustine’s feet started to hurt terribly. He was running barefoot now; his previous leather shoes were too hindering, so he stored them in his Space Button.

As a result, his speed increased, but the concrete floor was very abrasive, making his soles ache.

Nolan Augustine stopped shortly after and decided he couldn’t keep running under these conditions, so he raised his hand to summon a service robot. To facilitate student life, Lanyue Star Military Academy had arranged quite a few service robots on campus, which could help lift experimental equipment, order takeout, or perform other odd jobs.

The service robot received the signal and walked over immediately: ”Student, Xiao Jia No. 31 is happy to serve you. What can I do for you?”

Nolan Augustine said, ”Hello Xiao Jia, please bring me a set of sports gear.”

Robot Xiao Jia’s electronic eyes flickered as it recorded Nolan Augustine’s height, weight, shoe size, and then asked, ”Would you like a black vest and large shorts, or regular sportswear?”

Nolan Augustine: ”...”

Feeling slightly exasperated, Nolan Augustine shook his head and refused without thinking, saying, ”Give me a set of conventional sports attire.”

Robot Xiao Jia possessed some intelligence; its eyes twinkled, and its electronic voice remained mechanical, saying, ”Okay, I’ll bring it right away for Nolan Augustine. But just a friendly note, it’s hard to blend in with your classmates without the large shorts and vest. Want to reconsider?”

Nolan Augustine: ”...”

His face darkened a bit, and he couldn’t help but ask, ”What’s going on? Why did this vest and large shorts style become popular? It’s clearly ugly and not graceful. Why has it suddenly caught on?” The key point was, if he didn’t join in, he would seem very unusual. This was intolerable for Nolan Augustine.

As the heir of the Augustine family’s branch on Lanyue Star, Nolan Augustine always acted according to the norms of an heir. Whether it was clothing, food, housing, or travel, he had to ensure that he matched the Augustine Family’s image.

Large shorts?

Small vest?

...

This is simply intolerable.

Robot Xiao Jia saw the difficult expression on Nolan’s face and knew he was struggling to accept it, so it explained mechanically: ”Nolan, you may not know, but this trend was started by the second-year Combat Department student Ji You. Many classmates joined her in running, gradually forming a bright morning scene at Lanyue Star Military Academy. Now, more and more students no longer sleep in but get up early to run. Particularly among the self-funded class students, who used to sleep late, there’s now not a single delay; they all get up early to run.”

Nolan Augustine: ”...”

Robot Xiao Jia continued: ”This enthusiasm for exercise is progressively influencing more students, and it has already spread to the entire first and second-year students, even reaching the third and fourth-year students. Nolan, are you sure you don’t want a set?”

Nolan Augustine gritted his teeth and said, ”Give me a set.”

Since this trend was started by the student Ji You, he might as well try to join it. The Augustine Family is never defeated by a little challenge.

For family honor!

For his own progress!

For...

While Nolan Augustine was still trying to comfort himself, robot Xiao Jia had already brought over the black vest and large shorts, saying, ”Nolan, please accept.”

Nolan Augustine’s fingers trembled as he took them, gritting his teeth: ”Thank you.”

Robot Xiao Jia smiled and said, ”You’re welcome, this service costs a total of 1000 credit points, including a 500 credit point clothing fee. Remember to leave me a five-star review.”

Nolan Augustine paid immediately.

Although many robots were distributed throughout the campus, they were not cheap, a setup by the school to train students’ independence. This time, Nolan spent 1000 credit points, including a 500 credit point clothing fee, which meant robot Xiao Jia’s service fee was 500 credit points. This service fee was indeed expensive for ordinary students, but for Nolan of the Augustine Family’s Lanyue Star branch, it was just a small sum of money.

Robot Xiao Jia left promptly, but Nolan Augustine stood there holding the rather inelegant sports clothes, feeling quite conflicted. Then, when he saw General Shen Chi’s grandson, Shen Changqing, also dressed in the same outfit, his hesitation instantly vanished.

Whatever.

Go with the flow.

Nolan Augustine struggled for a moment and finally decided to change. He quickly found a nearby changing room, changed, and walked back out.

The small vest was very fitting, while the large shorts were loose and breezy; that feeling nearly made Nolan Augustine go back.

He had never been so ostentatious and lacking in grace.

It was as though a rush of blood surged to the top of his head, and Nolan Augustine’s entire face turned crimson.

He stood dumbfounded for a while, stabilized his mind, and told himself to stay calm, calm; nobody would pay attention to him.

Then.

Nolan Augustine re-entered the runway and began jogging. He appeared calm, yet inside, waves were crashing incessantly...

Fortunately, as one after another, and another student passed by... these juniors and seniors seemed utterly absorbed in running, not paying any attention to others on the road, and none recognized Nolan Augustine at a glance.

Nolan Augustine felt somewhat relieved.

At this moment, not drawing the attention of outsiders was his greatest hope.

Moreover, he continually comforted himself: if he was discovered, there was no need to worry. His attire could actually demonstrate his willingness to put aside the Augustine pride and interact and learn with the masses, which would better help him recruit more excellent talent.

Next.

Nolan Augustine began searching for the student Ji You’s figure.
