The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1538: Chapter 1538: Sneaky

After listening to Little Golden Dragon’s account, Ji You pondered for a moment, feeling that the repairman’s death seemed like an accident, but more like a meticulously designed accident... Currently, it appears unsolvable.

Glancing at Little Golden Dragon, who was criticizing the repairman with its words but always felt uneasy about his death, if now he were told that entering the Space Rift might yield no results, or that with bad luck, he couldn’t even find the burial ground... then this whole thing would just be busy work for nothing... How should he tell Little Golden Dragon these things?

This guy will definitely be disappointed, right?

Ji You immediately felt a bit distressed, couldn’t help but sighed deeply, saying: ”Oh! You’re such a troublesome little fairy, what on earth should I do with you?”

Little Golden Dragon was slightly taken aback hearing Ji You’s complaint, realizing she was talking about him, instantly got very angry, saying: ”You’re the troublesome little fairy, you damned woman.”

After being distressed for a while, Ji You decided to set it aside and take things one step at a time. For now, the plan was to sleep.

Ji You suddenly grabbed it and brought it closer, holding its neck, pointing to the night outside the window, and said: ”Are you planning on being honest and sleeping or getting locked in the Space Button yourself?”

Little Golden Dragon struggled to escape, realizing it couldn’t break free, then gave up, huffed, and said: ”Lord Heavenly Dog chooses to sleep honestly.”

Ji You released it, took out its little cup, little pillow, and little bed, and placed them on the sofa in the living room, saying: ”Sleep now.”

Little Golden Dragon has always protested against that set of sleep supplies, feeling they’re too tiny, not fitting its mighty and imposing style, saying: ”I’ve said it countless times, don’t make me use these, I’ll just sleep in the sofa.”

Though verbally contemptuous, but its body honestly took them, arranged everything neatly itself, burrowed into the blanket inside, pulled up the blanket covering its whole face, only exposing the two little horns on its head.

Seeing it was indeed being honest, Ji You didn’t bother it anymore and herself got into the blanket to sleep.

Ji You had very regular habits, tonight she was able to stay awake because she had to rush her homework, coupled with Little Golden Dragon’s antics, otherwise she would have slept already, her sleep quality had always been very good, even more so since entering Lanyue Star Military Academy, she trained very regularly, ensuring she fell asleep as soon as she touched the bed.

As expected, the next second, she fell asleep.

Little Golden Dragon waited for a few seconds after Ji You had fallen asleep, confirmed that she was truly asleep, then got up and wandered around the living room a few times, observed carefully, making sure it didn’t disturb Ji You, then gradually approached the bedroom where Ji You was sleeping.

Landing silently, it jumped to Ji You’s bedside, where she was still sleeping, sleeping very soundly.

Little Golden Dragon couldn’t hold still atop Ji You’s bedside, so it stood quietly watching sleeping Ji You.

This woman...

Clearly annoying and annoying, yet Little Golden Dragon discovered that it harbored the same feelings for her as it did with the repairman, although it’s only been a short while since it began feeling that way toward this damned woman, how come that?

It felt a little disconcerted and a bit awkward.

This guy was merely ordinary, two eyes, one mouth, one face, two legs...she didn’t have any extra parts...but what magic did she possess to actually make the powerful Lord Heavenly Dog feel attached to her?

Maybe it was the fact that she didn’t hesitate to spend a fortune to repair its body.

Maybe it was when she signed the huge contract without even thinking.

Maybe it was even earlier, when she considered it her true friend, partner, comrade...

This feeling made the little mech that had been lonely for too long unwilling to let go.

...

Little Golden Dragon stood for a while, confirming Ji You wouldn’t wake up, and then started searching around, not finding where Ji You put the Space Button.

In her hand?

No.

Around her neck?

No.

Ears, hair, elbows, ankles... Little Golden Dragon searched thoroughly, discovering nothing. Did this guy remove it after sleeping and put it elsewhere?

Thinking about it, Little Golden Dragon planned to open the first cabinet near the bedside, when suddenly a voice came from behind:

”Stop looking, it’s under the pillow.”

Little Golden Dragon jolted: ”I... I wasn’t planning on stealing your Space Button.”

Ji You rolled her eyes, saying: ”The contract is password protected, you can’t unlock it without my password, don’t waste your effort.”

”*Cough cough*” Little Golden Dragon: ”I said I wasn’t planning on stealing the contract.”

Ji You rolled over, presenting the back of her head to Little Golden Dragon, and then Little Golden Dragon immediately saw the silver-white Space Button beneath her pillow.

So she wasn’t lying?

Ji You didn’t seem to mind its intentions, meaning it could take it if it wanted?

Little Golden Dragon boldly approached, using its tail to wrap around the Space Button, bringing it before its eyes, trying to open, only to find it really couldn’t be opened.

What was the password?

Little Golden Dragon couldn’t figure it out after thinking for a long time.

Then.

It gave up.

Ji You then said: ”Don’t think about stealing and tearing up the contract, it’s useless, don’t you know how many backups I have? Stop doing pointless things, can you let people sleep?”

Little Golden Dragon: ”...”

Little Golden Dragon felt utterly ashamed.

Ji You treated it so well, yet it was still thinking of sneakily stealing the contract to secretly alter the amounts on it...

Really... It really shouldn’t have done that.

Little Golden Dragon immediately accepted its fate, saying: ”Forget it, Lord Heavenly Dog dares to act and take responsibility, having already signed the contract, it has to honor it fully.”

After saying that, it noticed Ji You had already started snoring.

Little Golden Dragon felt even more ashamed.

Now about entering the Space Rift, it wasn’t sure what danger it would face, Little Golden Dragon was not at all obsessed with entering the Space Rift, it even had physiological repulsion towards that eerie place, but it had to go in, otherwise it wouldn’t find the truth behind the repairman’s death.

Little Golden Dragon stopped being mischievous and quickly fell asleep too.

A person and a mech were both snoring, responding to each other’s rhythm, the snoring was rather melodic.

...

A dreamless night, when Ji You woke up, she felt not very refreshed, maybe because she slept too late last night and woke up a few times in between, dressed in a vest, yawning, walked into the elevator, met Sheng Qingyan halfway, receiving a rolling eye from Sheng Qingyan.

”You poor dead, if you dare to yell in the middle of the night next time, I won’t throw stinky eggs at you, I’ll throw stinky socks, stinky shoes, stinky toilets.”

Ji You yawned, ignoring him.

Sheng Qingyan grumbled a few words, seeing Ji You hadn’t responded the whole time, felt it was boring, and soon they reached downstairs, ready to go running.

Just as Ji You stepped out of the elevator and just lifted her foot, she suddenly saw Xie Lingzhi, leaning against the wall, hands in pockets, looking very bored.

Ji You paused, then delighted: ”Sister Lingzhi?”
