Primordial Slime: I Devour The World

[ Soul Record Updated

Spell Obtained.

Ooze Surge

A basic slime spell that launches a torrent of slime at the opponent, covering them and restricting their movement. ]

Interesting. So slimes have spells too. I’m learning a lot today.

”Don’t get distracted now, TANAKA!”

Zarathiel’s roar sounded in the ruined street.

”Storm Fiend!”

The wind around the Wyvern Lord twisted together. It spun faster and faster until the air itself was screaming. Then it formed. Several massive figures formed from the wind. They had humanoid shapes, but their forms constantly changed.

Their arms were long and twisted, while their torsos were made of compressed air. Their faces were simply glowing eyes surrounded by air. Tanaka stared.

”Wind demons?”

The creatures opened their mouths. A loud roar came from within. Then they charged. Tanaka immediately used Leap. His body shot upwards as the first Storm Fiend slammed into the ground, making a crater.

BOOM!

Tanaka landed on another building as a second Storm Fiend charged from behind.

Tanaka barely had time to turn.

BOOM!

Tanaka was sent flying from the impact, crashing into another building.

”Damn!”

Tanaka quickly recovered from the impact as another Storm Fiend charged. Tanaka narrowed his eyes.

”Devour!”

The creature vanished into his body.

Skill Obtained.

Storm Fiend ]

Tanaka’s eyes widened.

I got it.

He didn’t have time to celebrate as another Storm Fiend charged.

Tanaka quickly stretched his body beneath the creature and launched himself away.

Wind burst from behind him.

If I can steal the spell...

Can I use it?

Tanaka gathered mana.

Nothing happened.

He frowned.

Magic Casting Lv.1

He just got the ability. He didn’t know how to use spells yet. But Devourer had something else. The knowledge of the spell was in him. Tanaka closed his eyes. He could feel the structure of the magic. The flow of mana. The shape. The wind being compressed and formed into the creature.

He copied it. Mana gathered around his body. The air twisted together. Slowly, a Storm Fiend formed next to him. Tanaka opened his eyes. ”I did it.”

The Storm Fiend immediately charged. Zarathiel’s golden eyes widened. ”You copied my spell?”

The Storm Fiend slammed into the Wyvern Lord, sending him flying back several meters.

BOOM!

Tanaka didn’t waste any time. Two wings burst from his back, courtesy of the wyvern he originally devoured. The wings were smaller than Zarathiel’s, but they worked.

Tanaka took to the skies. ”This is useful.”

He shot upwards, dodging the Storm Fiend. Zarathiel looked up. ”You stole the wings of my kind.” ”And I’m not finished.” Tanaka gathered wind within his body. He opened his mouth. ”Wind Breath! This was another skill from the Greater wyvern”

A blast of wind shot from him, rushing towards Zarathiel. The Wyvern Lord crossed his wings, taking the attack. The force pushed him back, but only for a moment. Zarathiel pushed through the attack.

”Pathetic.”

He vanished.

Tanaka’s eyes widened.

Where did he-?

BOOM!

A claw slammed into his side, sending him flying. Tanaka crashed into the ground.

”Ugh...”

His body struggled to reform as Zarathiel landed on top of him. ”You possess many abilities.” Tanaka looked up at the Wyvern Lord. ”But you don’t know how to use them.” Zarathiel raised his claw. Tanaka used Leap. His body shot upwards just as the Wyvern Lord’s claw smashed into the ground.

BOOM!

Tanaka flew over Zarathiel’s head. He quickly formed another Storm Fiend, which charged the Wyvern Lord. Zarathiel simply destroyed it with a single sweep of his wing.

Tanaka’s expression darkened.

I can’t beat him through strength.

Devour doesn’t work because of Dominance.

And he’s much more experienced than me.

So what can I do?

Tanaka suddenly remembered something. The wyverns. He could feel them. Their emotions. Their thoughts. Their presence. Not clearly. It was more like countless signals in the air. A network. A connection between Zarathiel and the Greater Wyverns. Tanaka’s eyes widened.

Could I...

He reached out, touching the network. The moment his consciousness entered, it was overwhelmed. Feelings flooded his mind. Countless thoughts crashed into him. Tanaka nearly passed out.

”Too much!”

He pushed through the pain, diving deeper. Then it changed. The connection stabilized.

Thought Communication - Telepathy ]

Tanaka’s eyes widened.

”What?”

A voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

Get out of my head.

Tanaka froze.

Zarathiel.

You can hear me?

Of course I can.

Finally something he could use.

Zarathiel, listen to me.

I have heard enough. Zarathiel growled.

Then hear this.

Tanaka’s expression darkened.

Your people are alive. You proved your strength. The humans understand what happens when they attack your kind. You don’t need to destroy the entire city.

Zarathiel stared at him. For several seconds, there was silence.

You truly are persistent.

The Wyvern Lord’s eyes narrowed.

Very well.

Tanaka blinked.

Really? You will stop.

Finally.

Then Zarathiel said.

On one condition.

Tanaka’s smile vanished.

What condition?

Zarathiel spread his wings.

One final attack.

Tanaka stared at him.

You’re kidding.

Dark clouds gathered above Rosen City. The wind picked up, growing stronger Lightning flashed across the sky.

If you survive it, I will acknowledge your strength and leave.

Tanaka looked around at the ruined buildings and the injured adventurers.

Nira.

The Greater Wyverns.

Then he looked back at Zarathiel.

Fine.

Tanaka gathered his mana. ”If you’re going to do it...” His body expanded, the wind around him swirling. ”then I’ll do it too.” Zarathiel’s eyes narrowed. The storm around him grew. ”Storm Fiend.”

The sky grew darker, a vortex forming behind him. The wind compressed, the clouds twisting. Then hundreds of Storm Fiends began to form from the storm. Tanaka’s eyes widened.

”Wait.”

Hundreds?

He looked at his own spell.

He could barely maintain three.

”This is unfair.”

Zarathiel laughed deeply.

”You wanted to imitate me.”

Tanaka sighed.

”Yeah. Bad decision.”

The Storm Fiends charged.

Tanaka immediately used every ability he had.

Leap.

Flight.

Wind Breath.

Stone Body.

Sharp Claws.

Ooze Surge.

His body became a blur as he dodged one Storm Fiend, then another. Another one nearly took his head off. Tanaka fired Wind Breath, obliterating one of the wind creatures. He quickly used Ooze Surge, firing a torrent of dark blue slime at another Storm Fiend.

The creature’s body slowed as the thick ooze wrapped around its limbs. Tanaka slammed into it with Earth Impact.

BOOM!

The Storm Fiend vanished, but there were still dozens more. Tanaka gritted his teeth.

This is impossible.

He looked up at Zarathiel. The Wyvern Lord was gathering a massive amount of mana. The final attack was coming. Tanaka couldn’t match it with his current power. He had one ability left.

Devour.

Tanaka pushed himself towards Zarathiel.

He knew that Dominance would prevent him from consuming the Wyvern Lord. But he didn’t need to consume him. He needed to survive.

”Devour!”

The storm around Zarathiel rushed towards him, but Dominance pushed back against him.

Tanaka’s body shook.

”Damn!”

The invisible force rejected him. He couldn’t consume Zarathiel’s power. But some of the loose mana from the storm entered his body. Tanaka’s eyes widened. Tanaka absorbed as much of the storm as he could, filling his Magic Core with mana. His body swelled with energy. The storm around Zarathiel grew brighter. The Wyvern Lord released the attack.

”STORM FIEND!”

A massive wave of wind, lightning, and Storm Fiends surged towards Tanaka. Tanaka stared at it. ”Fine.” He gathered everything he had. The wind, his mana, his slime body. Everything.

”Storm Fiend!”

Tanaka’s own storm erupted from his body, colliding with Zarathiel’s.

BOOOOOOM!

The battlefield was consumed by the explosion. The wind ripped through the ruined streets, tearing buildings apart. Lightning struck the ground, sending shockwaves through the earth. The Greater Wyverns were sent flying, while the remaining adventurers covered their faces. Nira was thrown back, nearly knocked unconscious.

”Tanaka!”

For several seconds, the storm obscured everything. Then it began to clear. Tanaka’s body fell from the sky, landing on the ground with a soft thud. His body barely moved. Zarathiel landed several meters away, his scales cracked and one of his wings torn. He was breathing heavily, but he was still alive. Tanaka slowly raised his head, his voice barely above a whisper. ”So, I win?”

Zarathiel stared at him. ”No.” Tanaka’s smile vanished. The Wyvern Lord slowly folded his wings. ”You survived.” Tanaka sighed. Zarathiel looked around at the battlefield. Then back at Tanaka. ”For a young monster lord, you are troublesome.” Zarathiel chuckled. Then he turned to the wyverns.

”Wyverns.”

The Greater Wyverns immediately gathered around him.

”We leave.”

Tanaka’s eyes widened.

He actually did it.

The Wyvern Lord looked back at him one final time.

”Tanaka.”

Tanaka looked up at him.

”Yes?”

”Grow stronger.”

Zarathiel spread his wings.

”Next time, I may not hold back.”

Tanaka stared at him.

Then he sighed.

”Please don’t say things like that.”

The Wyvern Lord laughed as he took to the skies. The Greater Wyverns followed him, vanishing into the clouds. Tanaka watched them leave. Then his body finally gave out. Nira looked at him.

”Tanaka!”

He didn’t respond.

He was out cold, but he was alive.

For now, that was enough.
