Primordial Slime: I Devour The World

When the light faded, the chamber did not return to darkness.

It changed.

The Dungeon Core hovered quietly above the cracked pedestal, now threaded with streams of flowing blue mana that no longer felt wild. The air had become warm. Thick. Alive.

Tanaka kept one eye on the shattered remains of the guardian.

The other on the floating crystal.

Nothing attacked.

No hidden trap burst from the walls.

No final trick appeared to tear their victory away.

The dungeon had accepted its defeat.

Then the Voice of the World returned.

”Voice of the World”

Dungeon Conquered.

Reward Distribution Commencing.

A bright pulse rolled outward from the Dungeon Core.

It passed through Tanaka first.

Then the others.

Then the walls.

Then the floor.

Then, somehow, the entire forest beyond the dungeon.

The little slime bounced once, then froze as a soft glow wrapped around its body.

The Alpha Wolf lowered its head as blue light washed over its fur.

The rabbits blinked in surprise when the glow touched their ears.

Even the monsters who had stayed behind in the village felt it.

Far away, across the forest, slimes in the cave paused mid-bounce and looked toward the dungeon as if they had heard a silent bell.

Tanaka felt the blessing in his core.

It was not a single reward.

It was many.

The dungeon was giving back to everyone who now belonged to it.

A familiar screen opened before his consciousness.

[ Soul Record Updated

Dungeon Link Established.

Territory Mana Flow Increased.

Skill Growth Rate Improved. ]

Tanaka stared.

So this is how it works.

The Dungeon Core was not just treasure.

It was infrastructure.

A heart.

A source.

A living well of mana that would feed the land around it.

The wolves, slimes, and rabbits all reacted in different ways.

The slimes glowed faintly, their bodies growing denser and steadier.

The wolves stood taller, their senses sharpening.

The rabbits twitched their noses as if every scent in the chamber had suddenly become clearer.

Then the real rewards began.

One by one, skill notices appeared through Tanaka’s Soul Record.

[ Skill Acquired: Mana Sense Lv.1

Detects the flow and density of mana in the surrounding environment.

Skill Acquired: Crystal Resistance Lv.1

Reduces damage from crystal, piercing, and mana-based terrain effects. ]

Skill Acquired: Territory Link Lv.1

Improves communication and coordination with allied monsters within the dungeon’s influence. ]

Tanaka blinked.

Not bad.

Very not bad.

He could already feel the difference. The dungeon itself had become easier to read. Mana no longer felt like a vague pressure. It formed lines now. Currents. Directions. A map he could sense without seeing.

The slimes beside him twitched.

The little slime seemed especially excited.

It bounced once, then twice, then nearly rolled into Tanaka’s side from the strength of the mana flowing through it.

Tanaka steadied it with his body.

The little slime immediately looked proud, as if it had intended to do that on purpose.

The wolves were faring well too.

Several of the veteran slimes received small but useful boosts.

Stone Body grew stronger.

Leap became easier to control.

Survivor sharpened itself across the entire village, spreading like a safety net over those who had lived through the dungeon’s conquest.

Even the younger slimes, the ones who had not fought in the final chamber, felt the blessing.

That was the strangest part.

The dungeon did not care only about who had swung the final blow.

It recognized everyone who now lived under its shadow.

The village had become part of its territory.

The rewards reached home.

Far above the chamber, back in the cave village, several young slimes suddenly glowed and bounced in shock as new skills awakened in them one after another.

One gained Survivor.

Another gained Stone Body.

A third, surprisingly, gained a tiny fragment of Mana Sense and immediately began staring at glowing mushrooms as if they had revealed the meaning of life.

The village erupted into tiny waves of confusion and delight.

Then the largest rewards appeared.

The Dungeon Core pulsed once.

Twice.

Then two separate streams of light broke away from the main blessing.

One flowed into the Alpha Wolf.

The other into the eldest Fanged Rabbit.

Tanaka felt the difference immediately.

These two had led their people here.

They had accepted the village.

They had fought at the front.

The dungeon noticed.

The Alpha Wolf lifted its head as a stronger glow spread across its body.

A new notice appeared on his soul record.

[ Unique Skill Acquired: Pack Sovereign

Enhances coordination, morale, and bond resonance among allied beasts.

Improves command range and territorial awareness. ]

The Alpha blinked slowly.

Its tail gave one measured wag.

Tanaka could feel the skill take root. It was not just stronger leadership. It was the power to hold a pack together as one mind without erasing their individual will. The wolves would move faster, think sharper, and respond more instinctively when the Alpha called.

Not a ruler’s skill.

A pack’s soul.

Then the rabbit leader received its own blessing.

Its ears twitched.

Its body glowed brighter than the others for a few seconds before the light settled into something subtle and elegant.

Another notice appeared.

[ Unique Skill Acquired: Burrow Bloom

Increases the growth, healing, and cultivation of plants and medicinal herbs within allied territory.

Improves terrain familiarity and escape route awareness. ]

The rabbit leader slowly lowered its head, clearly stunned.

Tanaka felt the skill and immediately understood why it mattered.

The rabbits would not just gather food.

They would make the forest richer.

Safer.

More useful.

They would turn land into resources.

That was not flashy, but it was the kind of ability that could support an entire kingdom later.

Tanaka’s attention returned to his own Soul Record.

The glow around him deepened.

The rewards kept coming.

[ Skill Level Up

Devourer Lv.4

Digestion Speed Greatly Increased.

Skill Integration Improved.

Compatible Energy Conversion Improved.

Skill Level Up

Thought Communication Lv. 3

Simple thoughts may now be transmitted more clearly to multiple allied monsters.

Tanaka’s core trembled.

Then, like a locked door opening for the first time, his mind expanded outward.

It was not a shout.

Not exactly a voice.

It was a connection.

A path.

A bridge between his thoughts and the minds around him.

He felt the slimes first.

Then the wolves.

Then the rabbits.

Dozens of faint presences.

All of them within reach.

All of them waiting.

Tanaka focused.

He had never spoken aloud in this world.

Not once.

But now...

Now he did not need a mouth.

A clear thought passed through the network.

Good work, everyone.

The effect was immediate.

The cave above, the dungeon chamber below, and the linked territory beyond all seemed to pause at once.

One veteran slime bounced so hard it nearly flattened itself.

The little slime turned in place, staring at Tanaka with such astonishment that it forgot how to move for a second.

The Alpha Wolf’s ears lifted sharply.

The rabbit leader’s eyes widened.

Every monster had heard him.

Not as sound.

As meaning.

As voice.

Tanaka stared at the reactions and a strange feeling stirred inside him.

Warm.

Bright.

A little overwhelming.

So this was what it meant to finally be heard.

The little slime bounced over and rammed itself gently into his side.

Boing.

Tanaka could feel the emotion behind it clearly now.

Joy.

Pride.

Recognition.

Even the Alpha wolf approached and lowered its head once, not in submission, but in acknowledgment.

The rabbit leader followed.

Then the others.

The dungeon chamber, once cold and hostile, now felt like a gathering hall.

A heart had been claimed.

A territory had been born.

Tanaka looked around at the wolves, the slimes, the rabbits, and the glowing Dungeon Core hovering quietly above the pedestal.

For the first time since arriving in this world, he did not feel like a stranger holding on to borrowed space.

Then the Dungeon Core drifted slowly downward and settled into the chamber floor.
