Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 2261 - 1599: Truth or Lies

After a pause, Li Qiankun continued, ”As for other functional pills, you can now choose five yourself, and subsequent distributions will be based on your missions.”

Since they enjoy the benefits of Tongtian Sect, naturally they also have to bear corresponding responsibilities.

For instance, new disciples just starting out, those with lower cultivation, those injured in service, or disciples like alchemists and artifact refiners who are not skilled in combat, their karma gathers within Tongtian Sect, and other disciples will resolve it.

”Thank you, Sect Leader! Sect Leader is wise!”

Everyone was quite satisfied with the current situation, not to mention the upcoming pills that made them even happier.

After all, obtaining a few more pills might help them survive a dangerous encounter during a great calamity!

After spending considerable time distributing pills to all disciples, Li Qiankun suddenly gazed into the distance, thinking of the spies he had sent out secretly a few days ago.

’What kind of news would they bring back? Were previous rumors true or false?’

He hoped they were false, because if they’re true, after this battle, who knows how many disciples would perish in the calamity.

Especially for a force like Tongtian Sect, which has a deep foundation but weaker strength, it’s very likely to be targeted!

And once targeted, regardless of who wins or loses in the end, the losses wouldn’t be small!

...

Both flowers bloom, each presenting a branch.

A few days ago.

After hearing Li Zhirui’s advice, Li Qiankun immediately sent spies out, with cautious maneuvers finally managing to reach Xuling Palace’s territory.

This Xuling Palace was the place where the earliest rumors of several forces joining to attack Tongtian Sect originated.

Located in Mingzhou, it is considered a great force, with over a hundred thousand disciples, hundreds of Earth Immortals, and dozens of Heavenly Immortals.

Rumor has it that thousands of years ago, it was originally a Profound Immortal Sect, but with no subsequent births of Profound Immortals, it declined to its current state.

Excluding Li Zhirui, Xuling Palace’s strength surpasses Tongtian Sect!

Perhaps this was also why the rumor originated there?

”Act separately and cautiously, absolutely do not expose your identities!”

Upon entering the Spirit Land of Xuling, the spies discussed and decided on this plan.

Though solitary actions may weaken their strength, it would equally make them more concealed and harder to detect.

Moreover, once useful intelligence is obtained, they can return immediately, ensuring the sect is kept informed.

One spy, assuming the alias Chen Caijun, disguised himself as a loose cultivator and arrived at a small Immortal City.

While the difficulty of obtaining intelligence may be higher, it’s much safer!

And this alone outweighs everything else.

Unexpectedly, events proceeded very smoothly!

Shortly after entering the city, he hadn’t even had the time to explore the Immortal City, when a voice sounded beside him.

”Daoist brother, do you think Xuling Palace will really attack Tongtian Sect? Its strength is not a match at all, and as the attacking side, it lacks the advantage of terrain; they might end up being routed.”

”At first, I was curious and didn’t believe they had such courage, but then I learned there are secrets within!”

”Oh?”

The prior cultivator grew very excited, urging: ”Daoist brother, drink this cup fully! Then tell me well about the news you know.”

”Isn’t Xuling Palace claiming an alliance of eight forces? They’ve gathered all the significant forces in Mingzhou except Tongtian Sect.”

”But among these eight forces, there isn’t a Mysterious Immortal, even with many Heavenly Immortal cultivators, they’re still no match for a Mysterious Immortal’s intervention.”

”That’s true, but what you don’t know is, among these eight forces, there is a Mysterious Immortal!”

”What?!”

”It’s rumored that a Mysterious Immortal has come from somewhere, and somehow Xuling Palace managed to invite this Great Ability, leading them to target the overall weaker Tongtian Sect.”

”I think it’s not only because Tongtian Sect is weaker; its rise has squeezed other forces’ territories and stolen vast wealth from original forces.”

Now, given the chance to destroy it, the eight forces naturally won’t hesitate and will certainly not show mercy.

”I see!”

”It seems Tongtian Sect’s fall is imminent.”

...

And this conversation between the two was overheard completely by Chen Caijun passing by, causing him to instantly doubt whether it was pure coincidence or a trap set by Xuling Palace?

After all, walking by on the street, having just entered the city, hearing two cultivators discussing such matters, it seemed too much like a trap.

Once this thought occurred, he immediately became alert.

Considering this, he didn’t send the news back to Tongtian Sect right away, intending to further investigate and confirm the truth before using the precious Ten Thousand Miles Sound Transmission Talisman to send the information back.

Subsequently, Chen Caijun acted more cautiously, yet from the intelligence he gathered from all quarters, the alliance of the eight forces and the Mysterious Immortal, each detail was true.

”It’s all true?! Meeting those two cultivators initially wasn’t a trap after all, just pure coincidence?!”

Thinking this, Chen Caijun felt both amused and dismayed.

In order to verify the truth, he spent a lot of precious time, since the intelligence indicated that the eight forces had already assembled and were preparing to advance toward Tongtian Sect!

On the other hand, this confidence implies these forces believe they can certainly take down Tongtian Sect, which is why there aren’t any concealments, allowing even street cultivators to know these matters.

Fortunately, it’s not too late.

After refining the message, Chen Caijun activated the Ten Thousand Miles Sound Transmission Talisman, sending the information back first, then figuring a way to silently return to Tongtian Sect.

”It’s true!”

Soon after, Li Qiankun, far away on Ascension Mountain, received the Ten Thousand Miles Sound Transmission Talisman and quickly reviewed the contents, his expression growing more solemn.

”A Mysterious Immortal, eight forces...”

Given this, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of helplessness.

Even if the Sect Leader confronts the Mysterious Immortal, the hundreds of Heavenly Immortals from the eight forces, even if only half are deployed, could easily finish off Tongtian Sect.

Bear in mind, so far, the number of Heavenly Immortal cultivators in Tongtian Sect is still in single digits.

The disparity between both sides is truly a vast chasm.

”When this invasion battle ends, will Tongtian Sect still exist?”

Seeing the immense difference, Li Qiankun felt quite disheartened, temporarily losing his spirit.

But being chosen by Li Zhirui, his strong character and skills quickly returned him to normal, convening all elders, inviting Li Zhirui to the Sect Hall for discussions.

Soon after, with the last elder arriving, the previously empty hall now felt quite filled.

”Sect Leader!” Everyone rose to pay respects.

Li Zhirui arrived last, not due to ceremonial concerns, but simply because the disciple sent for him was somewhat slow.

”No need for formalities.”

Sitting down, he asked, ”How’s the situation understood?”

”Sect Leader, your previous assumptions were wrong!”

Li Qiankun shook his head and sighed, only to relay the spies’ message to everyone.

The eight old Heavenly Immortal forces have joined, with hundreds of Heavenly Immortal cultivators alone!

There’s many more of other realm cultivators.

”Hiss! So strong? Why did they join forces?”

To be frank, any one of their leaders randomly picked is stronger than Tongtian Sect.

Given this, a strong pressure was palpable on the elders.

Among those present, only Li Zhirui’s face remained serene, indifferent to such matters.

For if he wills, what are a few hundred Heavenly Immortals? They wouldn’t be a match for him at all.
