Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 2225 - 1581: Elder

But regardless of the kind, they cannot erase their centuries of contributions!

Thus, he harbors no dissatisfaction in his heart.

”Do not refuse.”

As he spoke, he forcefully stuffed the pill into their hands.

Then he asked the first disciple who had spoken, ”What is your name?”

”Disciple Li Qiankun.”

The other disciples looked at him enviously, because they knew Li Qiankun had caught the Sect Leader’s attention.

It’s well-known that their Sect Leader rarely manages affairs, and in the past when Elder Wansheng was still around, he took the lead.

After his demise, the Sect Leader still did not personally attend to matters, but had these stewards and a couple of direct disciples handle the sect’s affairs together.

Under such circumstances, it’s impossible for the Sect Leader to remember many disciples’ names and appearances.

But now that he personally asked someone’s name, he likely won’t forget it, and barring any accidents, Li Qiankun is bound to be heavily utilized!

Meanwhile, the other disciples were filled with regret, wondering why they didn’t step forward sooner! They were just a step behind!

What they didn’t know was what truly caught Li Zhirui’s attention wasn’t the order of who spoke first, but the heartfelt sincerity in Li Qiankun’s words.

”Li Qiankun? A good name.”

He nodded in satisfaction and asked, ”Are you willing to become an elder of the sect?”

”Disciple’s cultivation is lacking, unable to bear such great responsibility.”

As soon as these words came out, the other disciples were shocked, their eyes wide open in disbelief, nearly shouting out, and they wished they could speak up to assert that they would be willing to be an elder.

One must know, this would be the first elder appointed from the disciples, and the only elder currently in the sect!

With the Sect Leader in seclusion for years, ignoring sect affairs, they couldn’t even imagine the kind of power such an elder would wield.

Not to mention the opportunity to further advance and become the next Sect Leader!

”Hahaha...”

Li Zhirui couldn’t help but laugh heartily, it had been many years since he’d seen such a simple-minded cultivator, never expecting to encounter one here.

”Do not refuse, the sect needs you now, as for cultivation? I’ll back you up, don’t worry about some disciples defying you.”

The nearby disciples’ eyes were red with envy at hearing this, their faces distorted with jealousy.

The Sect Leader openly declared that he would back Li Qiankun! What a privilege!

With those words, who would dare harbor dissatisfaction against him!?

One could say, as long as the Sect Leader doesn’t retract his words, his status in the Tongtian Sect would be higher than that of the True Disciples!

”Disciple will try with all his might, if it harms the sect’s interests, I hope the Sect Leader will impose severe punishment.” Li Qiankun eventually accepted.

Not for anything else, purely for the sect’s development.

”Good! May you always maintain your original intention! Do not let power corrupt you!”

”Disciple will remember this, and be vigilant at all times.”

Li Zhirui nodded in satisfaction, then stated, ”From today onward, Li Qiankun will serve as the General Elder of the sect, managing all sect affairs on my behalf, ensure not to defy any matters except those harming the sect’s interests, otherwise, punishment will be unavoidable!”

With a bang, a clear sky suddenly had a thunderbolt strike Ascension Mountain, and a terrifying power instantly imprinted into the hearts of all disciples.

”From today onward, Guo Wenxian will become the sect’s Guest Elder, continuing to instruct disciples in cultivation.”

The second news didn’t stir much, as everyone did not find it strange, at most, just that this Heavenly Immortal became a Guest Elder.

But the initial news shocked everyone, their heads spinning, unable to recover for a long time.

”Li Qiankun, who is that?!”

This was the first reaction of most disciples, as they didn’t know this fellow sect member at all.

They were reminded later, suddenly recalling, it’s that meticulous steward.

”To my knowledge, his cultivation seems only at the Early Stage Loose Immortal.”

”How did he suddenly catch the Sect Leader’s favor and become an elder of the sect?”

”This isn’t just any simple elder, it’s entirely the next Sect Leader chosen by the Sect Leader!”

Everyone was startled, but upon carefully considering the Sect Leader’s words, it seemed to truly be this way...

This speculation made the disciples even more perplexed, how did an Early Stage Loose Immortal cultivator suddenly gain such favor to almost be the next Sect Leader?

This was beyond their comprehension.

After they later learned, the Sect Leader had declared in front of several stewards to back Li Qiankun, everyone was stunned.

This kind of privilege, even the direct disciples had never had!

When they came to realize this, they constantly inquired, eager to know what Li Qiankun had said or done to gain such attention from the Sect Leader!

Could they emulate him, not expecting to ascend precipitously, but hoping to gain some benefit from this incident.

Even those True Disciples couldn’t maintain calm in their hearts at this moment, wondering why they hadn’t received such treatment.

Clearly, they’ve not only inherited the sect’s legacy, symbolizing its future, but regardless of aptitude and cultivation, they should surpass an Early Stage Loose Immortal, right?

And now, the disciples had entirely forgotten about the Guest Elder Guo Wenxian in the Heavenly Immortal Realm.

All they were thinking about was Li Qiankun.

...

Speaking of which!

”The sect’s affairs will be entrusted to you next.” Li Zhirui took out the Sect Leader Jade Seal, splitting a strand of power from it to create a small seal for Li Qiankun.

Though it seemed somewhat hasty, it held considerable power, capable of commanding the Mountain Protection Array!

”Thank you for the Sect Leader’s trust, disciple will give his utmost!” Li Qiankun said earnestly.

”Good, I believe you won’t disappoint me.”

Li Zhirui nodded, reminding him one last thing, ”But do not forget cultivation, as cultivation is the foundation of a cultivator!”

”Yes!”

Having handed over these matters, he left the Sect Hall.

”Elder Qiankun, what should we do next?” As soon as Li Zhirui left, a disciple eagerly approached, attempting to curry favor with Li Qiankun.

”Continue with the duties previously assigned, but I hope all fellow disciples can be more meticulous and conscientious.”

Li Qiankun did not intend to change everything immediately, as he was still unfamiliar with many of the sect’s affairs.

Once he gained sufficient understanding, he would then consider other matters.

”Alright, I’ll go inform the others right away.”

Having interacted for so many years, he understood what kind of person Li Qiankun was, one who liked to do practical work and was meticulous.

He naturally wouldn’t persist in staying around him; otherwise, not only would he fail to please him, but might also irk him, which would be disastrous.
