Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 2226 - 1582: Lecturing on the Dao

In the following decades, Li Zhirui did not continue to seclude himself to comprehend the Shangqing inheritance. After all, cultivation also requires a balance between work and rest; long-term seclusion in pursuit of enlightenment is not necessarily a good thing.

For instance, if there is no progress or gains over a long period, one’s mental state may change, leading to emotions like restlessness and impatience, which would only waste time.

If it becomes severe, it might even evolve into a Heart Demon, obstructing one’s path to enlightenment.

”In seven days, I will give a public lecture at the Sect’s square.”

Li Zhirui planned to fulfill his responsibility as Sect Leader during this interlude from seclusion, thus deciding to lecture the disciples.

At the same time, he also wanted to see how Li Qiankun managed the Sect so that he could confidently entrust the affairs of the Tongtian Sect to him completely.

And as some other disciples were thinking, if Li Qiankun’s performance was satisfactory to Li Zhirui, he would appoint him as acting Sect Leader once his cultivation improved a bit.

Adding the word ’acting’ was mainly because Li Qiankun’s aptitude was average, and he might not break through to the Heavenly Immortal for many years of cultivation.

And without becoming a Heavenly Immortal, how could he assume the position of Sect Leader of the Tongtian Sect?

It should be known that, due to Li Zhirui’s presence, the Tongtian Sect is now a prominent Profound Immortal Sect!

The cultivation level of a Sect Leader, representing a certain face of the Sect, cannot be too low.

To enhance Li Qiankun’s authority, he also couldn’t be kept in the Elder position indefinitely, as more Elders would undoubtedly be added in the future.

Additionally, being an Elder himself, especially if his cultivation might not even surpass others, how could he direct others in their work?

Cultivation is not something that can improve in a short period; thus, his status must be elevated.

Of course, this is all speculative; perhaps Li Qiankun’s cultivation improvement will be faster than Li Zhirui assumed. When it comes to cultivation, no one can predict for sure.

Returning to the topic!

After learning that Li Zhirui was going to lecture, the disciples were overjoyed. This was a lecture given personally by a Mysterious Immortal!

In other sects, perhaps only the True Disciples or Heavenly Immortal Cultivators would be qualified to attend such a lecture. Small characters like them wouldn’t have the opportunity at all.

”Disciple thanks the Sect Leader for imparting knowledge!”

All disciples sincerely expressed their gratitude.

Especially those who were stuck at a bottleneck and unable to break through for a long time, they treated this lecture as an opportunity to break through their limits.

Seven days passed in the blink of an eye.

On the day of Li Zhirui’s lecture, aside from a few disciples who truly couldn’t leave their duties, everyone returned to Ascension Mountain. Many even arrived at the square days in advance just to secure a spot closer to the lecture.

For a Sect with thousands of disciples, such a public lecture by High-level Cultivators often incited certain incidents.

Like now.

”Move aside! This is not a place for a servant disciple!” A True Disciple cried out in the center of the square, scolding a disciple in gray robes.

The servant disciple shouted in anger, ”Why! It took me days to secure this spot.”

”Because I am a True Disciple, and you’re just a servant!” The True Disciple said arrogantly.

His attitude drew dissatisfaction from nearby disciples, who cast eyes of condemnation and disdain, but none spoke up to support the servant disciple.

Although he was arrogant, as a True Disciple, he was indeed not someone easily provoked, at least none were willing to offend him for a stranger.

”You!”

The servant disciple showed a resolute expression, saying, ”I will not give up my spot to you; you can try if you have the guts.”

”Don’t blame me for not warning you: if you don’t move now, you won’t have peaceful days anymore!” The True Disciple unashamedly threatened in front of everyone.

”Who gave you the power? What qualifies you to prevent a Sect Disciple from cultivating peacefully?”

A cold, anger-suppressed voice rang out from the crowd.

Li Qiankun, his face icy, walked up to the two, his eyes full of pressure as he stared at the True Disciple, bellowing, ”Where do you get the nerve to threaten a Sect Disciple like this?! Is it because of your status as a True Disciple? Or your Individual Immortal Realm cultivation?”

Though also at the Individual Immortal level, he could wield a fragment of the Sect Leader Jade Seal’s power, making his aura in the Mountain Gate even surpass that of a Human Immortal!

Under his unrelenting questioning, the True Disciple’s face changed drastically. He opened his mouth but failed to utter a word, his previous arrogance vanished, leaving him looking rather pitiable.

This current General Elder, who was likely to succeed as Sect Leader in the future, was not someone to be provoked.

”Enough.”

At this moment, Li Zhirui appeared, gently laughing, ”You’ve done quite well.”

”It’s just that you both have been wronged.”

”It’s the disciple’s honor to serve the Sect Leader.” The two disciples quickly bowed and said.

Indeed, this clichéd act was deliberately arranged by Li Zhirui to test how Li Qiankun would handle such situations.

Although his way of handling it wasn’t perfect, it was quite decent.

Especially in maintaining equality in the dignity of all disciples, he did very well!

Li Zhirui did not wish the disciples of the Tongtian Sect to casually bully their peers because of factors like status, cultivation, or power.

He didn’t like such an atmosphere!

”These pills are your compensation.”
