Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 574: Chapter 554: Han Lei Appears

”Qianqian.” When Luo Qianqian awoke, her eyes immediately met Qin Nuan’s and Cong Rong’s swollen ones, filled with concern, as soon as she opened hers.

Cong Rong breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Luo Qianqian regain consciousness, ”You little rascal, scaring me on my birthday!”

Luo Qianqian had just tried to speak when she realized her throat hurt a bit. She reached for it and felt the gauze wrapped around it. With horror stricken across her face and her eyes wide, she grabbed Qin Nuan’s phone that was left aside and began typing a message: Did my neck break???

She even followed up with a row of question marks.

Qin Nuan couldn’t help but feel speechless at Luo Qianqian’s sincere terror, ”If your neck was broken, would you still be alive?”

Wouldn’t you have kicked the bucket already? Rib fractures I’ve heard of, but I haven’t heard of cervical fractures, ah, there is, high-level quadriplegia.

”Yep, it’s broken. Why don’t you give your head a call?” Qin Nuan teased with a mischievous smile on her face.

Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes. Wouldn’t the fact that she can see people mean her head is still on?

Thinking back to the figure in the sunlight before she lost consciousness, she typed away again: What about that angel?

Cong Rong couldn’t help but chuckle and shake her head when she saw the message on the screen; however, when they had arrived, there was only a driver waiting here who left Luo Qianqian with a message: ”We will meet again.”

Upon hearing this message, Luo Qianqian looked utterly baffled.

Qin Nuan, on the other hand, was all curious, ”Spill the beans, is that your old sweetheart?”

Knowing it was impossible, she still wanted to tease Luo Qianqian and make her smile, especially since two other people were injured and she didn’t want Luo Qianqian to feel guilty as she thought of them.

Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes. If she knew him, why would she ask them? Could it be an old classmate?

Cong Rong paused for a moment, then speculated, ”He doesn’t seem like a child from an ordinary family, the driver referred to him as ’Young Master.’ He probably isn’t someone you knew before, most likely someone from the Luo Family side.”

Luo Qianqian raised an eyebrow but didn’t think too much of it. Since they would meet again, she decided to wait for that time to come.

She typed on the phone: Was the cake eaten?

Qin Nuan was speechless and shook her head. Looking at the time, they hadn’t even had dinner yet. Luo Qianqian had been unconscious for over two hours, and it was already getting dark. With such a big incident, who would be in the mood for cake?

With a calm and smiling face, Luo Qianqian typed: The cake Luo Yanran prepared has to be eaten, otherwise, it would be rude. You guys eat my share too. Don’t let it go to waste.

Just as Qin Nuan was about to say something, Cong Rong grabbed her, ”Alright, we’ll go get the cake. You wait here,” and then dragged Qin Nuan out of the ward.

After closing the ward door, facing Qin Nuan’s puzzled look, Cong Rong explained, ”It wouldn’t be good to let down Luo Yanran’s kindness. Plus, Qianqian is trying to get us out of here.”

Indeed, as soon as they left and closed the door, Luo Qianqian climbed out of bed, her face devoid of the earlier smile. She yanked the needle from her hand and, grabbing the backpack from the head of the bed, clutched Qin Nuan’s phone tightly and left the ward.

She was in a single patient room, with no reason to believe Luo Yanran and Elvis weren’t nearby. She would probably find them if she looked around.

Sure enough, the next room was Elvis’s. Xi Ming was sitting by his bed, reading some book, and was startled by the entrance of Luo Qianqian, ”Why are you up?”

Luo Qianqian shook her head, walked over to Elvis’s side, and looked at his sleeping face. She typed on the phone: How is he?

Seeing Luo Qianqian’s method of communication, Xi Ming was stunned for a long time before shaking his head, then looked at Luo Qianqian’s bandaged neck, ”He’ll be fine after some rest, nothing serious. Are you alright?”

Luo Qianqian shook her head and continued typing: Which ward is Luo Yanran in?

Xi Ming saw these words, his expression a bit odd, ”He’s not in the hospital, he left after getting bandaged up.”

”Cough, damn.” Luo Qianqian gripped her phone tightly, furrowing her brow and pursing her lips after making a sound, clenched her fist, and only after a moment did she let go before typing: Nuannuan, come back and give her the phone, I’m going home.

”Don’t... Mmh, shall I accompany you?” Xi Ming seemed to sense Luo Qianqian’s thoughts and quickly refused, but feeling his tone was too urgent, he tried to recover by saying,”It’s not safe for you to be alone at night.”

Luo Qianqian shook her head, typing: Elvis, please take care of him tonight, I will apologize to you guys later.

Then she put down her phone and walked out of the ward, Xi Ming followed closely but didn’t catch sight of her, he checked the ward next door and didn’t find Luo Qianqian either, which puzzled him even more; however, he stood there for a while and went back to the ward.

Luo Qianqian was pulled by a force into the opposite ward, squinted, and saw a pale face. Although the person was wearing a hat and a mask, his eyes and eyebrows were about eighty percent similar to Han Chen’s...

”Luo Qianqian, I’m Han Lei!” The man, seeing the fear in Luo Qianqian’s eyes, quickly pulled down his mask.

Though much had changed, there were many similarities with the poised and mature young man from those years ago. His mouth and nose were also significantly different from Han Chen’s.

Luo Qianqian raised her eyebrows, puzzled, and swatted Han Lei’s hand away.

Han Lei quickly let go of her hand, saying, ”Sorry.” Then his gaze shifted to Luo Qianqian’s neck, his face filled with self-reproach, ”If only I had noticed earlier.”

Luo Qianqian was perplexed.

”I’ve heard your name from my brother’s mouth before, I thought it was a coincidence, I didn’t pay attention, which led to everything that happened...” Han Lei was full of regret.

Luo Qianqian shook her head to indicate it was fine.

”You won’t sue my brother, right?” Han Lei grabbed Luo Qianqian’s arm, she paused, then smiled with a look of confusion as she gazed into Han Lei’s eyes.

From his words, and the strikingly similar eyes and brows, it was clear Han Chen was Han Lei’s brother.

Then she nodded, pointed to herself, then at her backpack, and then at the ward across the hallway, and patted Han Lei on the shoulder.

She then opened the door to the ward and left.

Han Lei watched as Luo Qianqian left, only able to hang his arms limply, still full of confusion. What did Luo Qianqian mean just now?

She, the bag, the ward across?

In truth, Luo Qianqian was trying to express that she was about to grab her bag and run away, and asked Han Lei to take good care of the person in the ward across.

But understanding or not didn’t really matter; Luo Qianqian’s intention was to leave anyway.

It wasn’t just about leaving the hospital; it was also about getting away from Han Lei’s side.

At that moment, she clearly felt the sensation that things had changed, even though the person was still the same, the heart was no longer the same; she wondered how Shen Yan would feel about this Han Lei who was so devoted to the Han Family?

Luo Qianqian was mistaken about one thing; Han Lei was devoted to Han Chen, not the Han Family.

Han Lei also made a mistake; to Luo Qianqian, Han Chen was the perpetrator who had hurt her brother Luo Yanran and friend Elvis; how could she easily forgive?

Just as she descended the stairs, she saw Cong Rong and Qin Nuan standing below, wearing somewhat embarrassed expressions. She heard Cong Rong say, ”Some fool has been worrying about a certain impulsive spirit for half a day now, but without the impulsive spirit, where do we go to pick up the cake? Let’s go together.”

Qin Nuan’s face turned red, but she looked resolutely at Luo Qianqian, ”He’s not just your brother, he’s also my boyfriend!”
