Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 549: Chapter 529: Intricate and Confusing (Eleven)

Elvis rolled his eyes; everyone else thought he was handsome, so why was it taken for granted when it came to Luo Qianqian? Was she blind? He touched his face and leaned in close to Luo Qianqian again, ”Take a good look at my face, and make sure you’re not mistaking me for someone else.”

Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes, ”How could I possibly mix you up? In our school, you are definitely ’Number One.’ Sure, there are others who dye their hair, even in gold or red, and there are those who wear colored contacts—purple, red, silver, people have them all. But the obvious features of a Westerner can’t be made up with just hair and eye color.”

Elvis found himself at a loss for words. Was she implying that she wouldn’t recognize him if there were more foreigners?

Luo Qianqian turned her head to look at the girls approaching closer, shivered a bit, and whispered to Elvis, ”I have a feeling something is going to happen.”

Elvis turned to look at the girls drawing near, flicked his bangs with a finger, then turned back to Luo Qianqian, ”I’ll keep an eye out for you.”

Luo Qianqian didn’t reply, feeling an urge to return to her dormitory. She always felt that crowds brought accidents; was she overthinking it?

Yue Xiluo’s classes were simple, humorous, and witty, receiving high praise. Plus, he didn’t call the roll and let things take their course, which all the more won everyone’s gratitude, including students from other departments who attended his lectures.

After class, Luo Qianqian didn’t leave immediately, sensing someone might come looking for her.

It must be said that a girl’s sixth sense isn’t wholly unfounded. People had hardly started to leave and Yue Xiluo was still held up at the door by students asking questions, when someone rushed up to Luo Qianqian.

As usual, it was Wang Zi and Sun Bin.

”Luo Qianqian, we’re going out for a gathering on Qixi, do you want to come and have fun?” Wang Zi asked familiarly.

Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes, ”What does Qixi have to do with me? I’m underage and the fun you guys have is just not for me.” She did not mince words, clearly seeing Sun Bin’s change in expression and the twitch in Wang Zi’s mouth.

Elvis covered his mouth and muffled a laugh, ”Age gap,” indeed, that was a critical hit. Although the students in the class were at the best age, they couldn’t overlook the fact that she was underage.

A student behind Wang Zi frowned and approached, ”Luo Qianqian, why would you say that? You—” The person was about to pat Luo Qianqian when she instinctively blocked with the egg tart box she hadn’t yet thrown away.

Elvis immediately pulled Luo Qianqian back, looking at her with a defensive expression.

She might have felt guilty, and upon seeing their reactions, she laughed awkwardly, ”What are you guys doing?”

”I have a cleanliness obsession,” Luo Qianqian covered her nose and mouth with one hand, even rejecting the ’Air’ around her as people approached.

Elvis responded matter-of-factly, ”Physical contact from unfamiliar people should count as harassment, right?”

Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes at Elvis, who still held her wrist, and kept silent, knowing that Elvis was also nervous and had acted on impulse. She then freed her wrist from Elvis’s grip, ”Would you mind moving aside? Or is there something else you want to say?”

”No... I mean, it’s not that.” Elvis tried to grab Luo Qianqian again, but she was quickly swept by Elvis to the other side of the seat, where the others had left.

At this point, Wang Zi noticed something was off and frowned, ”Di Jing, what are you trying to do?”

Di Jing was taken aback, her face holding a stiff smile, ”What am I doing? I was just greeting a classmate, who knew they’d be so guarded against me?”

”She said she has a cleanliness obsession and dislikes your touch,” Elvis said succinctly, keeping a vigilant eye on Di Jing, while he packed up Luo Qianqian’s books and handed her the bag, ”Let’s hurry up and leave.”

Who would have known Di Jing would be so relentless, stepping ahead of Wang Zi to block Luo Qianqian at the other end of the chair, ”I want to be friends with you,” she said, looking at Luo Qianqian.

Luo Qianqian stopped in her tracks and took two steps back, responding coldly, ”But I don’t want to.”

No one expected Luo Qianqian to be so straightforward with her reply.

Yue Xiluo, standing at the door, saw the scene and frowned.

”I don’t think those who approach me with ulterior motives are worthy of being my friends; my friends are not so cheap,” Luo Qianqian’s icy words came through as she looked at Di Jing, ”I don’t think the things you do are unknown to everyone, if you don’t want others to know, better not do it yourself.”

Upon hearing this, a crazed look appeared on Di Jing’s face, ”Luo Qianqian, do you think you can make it into high society just because you’re born into the Luo Family? There are limited opportunities, don’t block others’ paths!”

These words made Luo Qianqian pause for a moment, and then her face showed sudden realization. So, this whole affair wasn’t about revenge but all because of the party on Friday?

Looking at Di Jing with a hint of ice in her eyes, ”Blocking who? Surely not you? Are you qualified?”

Elvis immediately stood up from the table, and with that motion, moved Luo Qianqian away from over the table as well, ”Hurry up and go have a meal. You don’t need to worry about the rest.” He patted Luo Qianqian’s back and pushed her towards the door.

Where would Di Jing be willing to give up? With the promise from Han Chen that he would acknowledge her as his girlfriend once the task was completed.

Who knew Luo Qianqian would be on guard?

Looking at the scent bead on her wrist, Di Jing yanked it off and threw it at Luo Qianqian.

Luo Qianqian saw the beads scatter everywhere, with no place to hide, but the next second a suit jacket was thrown over her head, and then she was powerfully dragged out of the classroom, almost stumbling and falling.

Then smelling the scent on the suit jacket, she immediately knew it was Yue Xiluo’s, and recognized that the fresh scent must be from laundry detergent or something similar.

Yue Xiluo said directly, ”Let’s go first, just return the suit to me later.”

It’s best to minimize Luo Qianqian’s contact with whatever that object might be, since its nature was uncertain.

Luo Qianqian nodded and saw Lu running out in a hurry with her bag through the gap.

As Luo Qianqian walked away, Yue Xiluo picked up a handkerchief with a cool expression, carefully picked up two beads, wrapped them meticulously, and then turned to address the people in the classroom, ”Stop making a scene. Do you want to be punished if this gets out of hand?”

Elvis didn’t feel much upon hearing this; he had only stood up from the table, was that also wrong?

Meanwhile, Di Jing collapsed onto the floor in meltdown, ”Why!!!!!”

Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes; she wanted to know why too. It was like dealing with a lunatic.

Holding the coat, she didn’t dare to take it off until she was out of the teaching building. Seeing Qin Nuan waiting at the door with a surprised look on her face, Luo Qianqian hugged her miserably, recounted the events in the classroom, not realizing that a figure, who had also been standing at the door and watched the scene, silently walked away with an indescribable look at Luo Qianqian.
