Chapter 393: Chapter 288: Infinite Swordsmanship, Abyss Gazer’s Quest

’Descending into the Mad Secret Realm with my true body?’

Wang Yi quietly took note. He could predict that this change in the Mad Secret Realm would undoubtedly attract a large number of Players to descend with their true bodies.

This might be a grand event for the previous and ancient generations of Players, but it wouldn’t have much of an impact on contemporary Players. After all, he estimated that very few, if any, contemporary Players could even enter the High-Dimensional Divine Hall at this point.

’Descending with my true body is too risky. If contemporary Players go, they’ll be at the bottom of the food chain. Having to compete with numerous ancient Players, Starry Sky Gods, and even Lords of the Divine Kingdom... it’s not necessarily a good thing!’

This thought made Wang Yi even more vigilant, and his desire to descend into the Mad Secret Realm lessened considerably.

He continued his secluded training, diligently practicing the Breathing Technique.

The Breathing Technique was quite miraculous. The moment Wang Yi obtained it, the Divine Technique’s appearance led him to immediately grasp the Vacuum Breathing Technique and the Spiritual Qi Breathing Technique.

The Vacuum Breathing Technique allowed Wang Yi to survive even in outer space, as it was a Technique for absorbing Cosmic Energy.

The Spiritual Qi Breathing Technique was practically a Cultivation Method, allowing Wang Yi to absorb Spiritual Energy and slowly refine his body.

Now, as Wang Yi settled down to cultivate, he successively unlocked the Deep Sea Breathing Technique and the Flame Breathing Technique.

A year later, Wang Yi had perfected his Breathing Technique, maxing out its proficiency. The long-awaited system notification finally sounded: ”Ding! Congratulations, your Breathing Technique proficiency has reached the required level. You have completed 20,000 Great Cycles. [Martial Arts Manual +6] has unlocked the fifth Martial Arts: [Infinite Swordsmanship]!”

”Ding! Enlightenment! Congratulations, you have received the cultivation method for [Infinite Swordsmanship], forming the Infinite Swordsmanship skill. Infinite Swordsmanship is an upgraded version of Tai Chi Swordsmanship, emphasizing Yin Yang Balance and the Primordial Infinite. Its focus is on intent over form, and internal power over external display. It contains a total of 1,296 standard Sword Techniques. Practicing it strengthens the body, condenses the Divine Soul, and hones the Will!”

”Ding! Completing all 1,296 standard Sword Techniques of Infinite Swordsmanship will grant one proficiency point. When proficiency reaches 100,000, [Martial Arts Manual +6] will unlock the sixth Martial Arts!”

”Ding! Congratulations, your Infinite Swordsmanship skill has transformed into the Infinite Divine Techniques. You have obtained Divine Body King Wuji. Wang Wuji descends upon the Refining Purple Jade Mountain, practicing Swordsmanship on the peak to comprehend the way of the Infinite!”

Wang Yi frowned after hearing the system notifications. ’1,296 Sword Techniques... Are they serious? Finishing all 1,296 of them only grants one proficiency point? How am I ever supposed to grind 100,000 proficiency points?’

Even with the Great Grade Celestial Immortal Divine Techniques providing a proficiency discount, he had no idea how long it would take to unlock the sixth Martial Arts.

’Ah, whatever. It’s still a Swordsmanship technique. If I practice it, at least I’ll get a little stronger!’

After a brief sigh, Wang Yi got up and began to practice. He used the Cyan Blade Sword to go through the Sword Techniques, and it took a full three hours to complete all 1,296 forms.

The Sword Techniques themselves were ordinary. To Wang Yi, they seemed unremarkable—nothing more than basic chops, hacks, stabs, and upward flicks. The more difficult moves were merely things like a Jump Slash or a turning slash.

In Wang Yi’s opinion, this [Infinite Swordsmanship] was certainly practical, but only for melee combat. It had no Sword Qi, no Inner Strength, and no mystical effects. It couldn’t even compare to the swordsmanship found in martial arts novels.

Wang Yi decided to just treat it as a form of physical exercise. But to his surprise, combining the Breathing Technique with the Sword Techniques produced an excellent Body Refinement effect. After practicing for ten days, he could clearly feel his Physique improving, and even his Essence, Qi, and Spirit felt replenished!

’Practicing the sword like this is getting tedious. Maybe I should go out for a bit?’

With that thought, Wang Yi stood up, planning to do some exploring in World of Suffering No. 356.

He hadn’t explored this world in a long time. Now, driving the Bronze Horse Carriage, he set out alone.

The landmass of World of Suffering No. 356 no longer held any challenge for him, so this time, Wang Yi drove toward the sea.

The sea had its own ecosystem, one even more complete and complex than that on land. There were Earth Deity Beasts there as well, most of which lived on the seabed. Large quantities of bioluminescent plants grew on the ocean floor, making the deep sea surprisingly bright.

Wang Yi tried out his Deep Sea Breathing Technique in the ocean and discovered he could actually drive the carriage straight into the water.

And so, for some time, Wang Yi traveled alone into the depths, driving his carriage forward. The experience was novel and eye-opening. He saw many creatures and sights that couldn’t be found on land. Whenever he encountered some mindless creature that blocked his path, he would simply cut it down.

After traveling like this for a month, Wang Yi discovered the ruins of a city on the seabed. In the center of these ruins stood a Tower of Suffering, and coiled around it was a gigantic Sea Serpent.

The Sea Serpent was ten thousand feet long, with a mane running down its spine and glowing Scale Armor. In Wang Yi’s opinion, one could have easily called it a Flood Dragon.

This Sea Serpent had a name: [Deep Pupil]. It was a King Qi, and the underwater ruins were its territory. The vast fields of kelp-like plants growing within were all its subordinates.

However, to the current Wang Yi, a King Qi like this was nothing more than a big monster. The Jiya ecosystem was gone, so the King Qi were no longer undying. Wang Yi activated his Panwu’s Great Power Divine Techniques, and using his Cyan Blade Sword and Infinite Swordsmanship, he managed to slay it with sheer physical force.

After Deep Pupil died, its body dissolved into light and vanished, surprisingly dropping a Treasure Chest. At the same time, a glowing Teleportation Gate appeared on the seabed.

”Ding! You have slain the special King Qi, Deep Pupil, completing a hidden achievement and earning the right to explore the Soul Abyss.”

”Ding! Life and soul are also part of the ecosystem. The cycle of life and the ebb and flow of souls are all part of its function. Within the World of Suffering exists the Soul Abyss, where the River of Souls flows, watched over by the Abyss Gazers!”

”Ding! Conditions met. A Teleportation Gate to the Linyuan Sea is now open. Pass through it to reach the Linyuan Sea, find the Abyss Gazer Luo Ye on its seabed, and speak with him to begin the Abyss Gazer questline!”
