Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes

Chapter 389: Chapter 286: The Heavens Collapse, the Divine Lord Descends

Peach Blossom Spring World. Taoyuan Mountain. The plains at its foot.

An army of over a million strong was locked in a great battle here. The front lines stretched for over ten miles, and battle cries shook the heavens. The two sides clashed head-on, each fighting with heroic valor, neither giving an inch as they slaughtered one another until rivers of blood flowed.

The two warring parties were Taoyuan Country and Nanshan Country.

But the masterminds behind this war were Players.

Taoyuan Country was currently controlled by a Player known as ”Peach Mountain Mother,” a self-proclaimed title. Her real name was Zhang Chunjiao, her class was Chaos Lord, and her in-game position was leader of the Peach Blossom Sect.

The Peach Blossom Sect was the state religion of Taoyuan Country. As its leader, Zhang Chunjiao’s status was slightly higher than even the National Preceptor’s, making her second in power only to the Emperor himself.

She was ambitious and cunning. Using her territory as a power base, she had rendered the Emperor of Taoyuan Country a mere figurehead and seized control of the Court. Under her command were a million elite soldiers and over two hundred other Players.

Before being transported to this world, Zhang Chunjiao was just a nightclub DJ. Now, she dreamed of becoming an Empress, even of unifying the entire realm. She had initiated this war to annex Nanshan Country.

Nanshan Country, a major power in the Peach Blossom Spring World capable of rivaling Taoyuan Country, had always been a peaceful nation whose people followed Buddhism. Its de facto ruler, the one with true authority, was now also a Player named Shen Yuan.

Shen Yuan was also a Chaos Lord, and his territory was thriving. He was naturally peace-loving and only wished to develop his domain in obscurity, but Peach Mountain Mother’s relentless pressure had forced his hand. To protect his home, he had no choice but to fight, allying with the Nanshan Country Court to face Peach Mountain Mother in a direct confrontation.

Taoyuan Country and Nanshan Country had been at war for a long time, fighting over a dozen battles of varying scales, with victories and defeats on both sides. Today’s battle, however, was the largest to date in every respect: the grandest in scale, the greatest number of troops committed, and the highest participation of Players.

This battle was especially critical. It was essentially a fight for survival for both nations. The Players on both sides had no path of retreat and had brought out all their trump cards.

It was clear that after this battle, the victor would be crowned king, while the loser would be branded an outlaw.

”KILL!”

”Cut them down! Break their lines! Kill Peach Mountain Mother!”

”Their champions are all trash! Kill them!”

”Careful! The enemy deployed a King! It’s one of the Peach God Guard!”

”South Mountain Forbidden Army, advance!”

”Rally to me! We’ll take down this King-level Sword Demon together!”

As cries of all kinds rang out, and just as the fighting reached its most ferocious peak, a horse-drawn carriage serenely appeared in the sky.

Starlight, like a layer of frost, paved a path before it, and the carriage glided along in its wake, an utterly surreal sight.

On the battlefield below, someone spotted the strange carriage and cried out in alarm, ”Look! What is that?”

”Could it be Peach Mountain Mother’s secret weapon?”

”It’s a carriage, and there are people inside!”

”I heard Nanshan Country has an Alien who can fly! Don’t tell me that’s who it is!”

”How is that war chariot flying in the sky? Who is driving it, and what are their intentions?”

”It must be enemy reinforcements! Everyone, be on your guard!”

More and more soldiers noticed the carriage in the sky. Wary, they silently prepared themselves, all assuming it was a master sent by the enemy.

The carriage was, of course, Wang Yi’s Bronze War Chariot.

He had descended upon the Peach Blossom Spring World for the sole purpose of finding the Spiritual Vein Mountains and Rivers. He was merely passing through. While the war below piqued his curiosity, it was only a mild interest. He had no intention of getting involved—at most, he’d just watch the show.

Suddenly, however, one of the Bronze War Chariot’s wheels shot off. The chassis lurched to one side, and the whole thing began to plummet toward the battlefield below.

”Fuck, this carriage broke down again!”

Wang Yi’s brow furrowed.

The Bronze Horse Carriage hadn’t broken down once since he’d fused it with the Star Vortex. He’d been driving it with ease lately, and the ride had felt incredibly smooth. But in the end, the carriage was still an old clunker with a lot of quirks, and now it had finally broken down again.

”Been a while since I had to call a cab!”

Wang Yi muttered, then immediately leaped from the Bronze Horse Carriage.

Wang Yi was no longer an ordinary person. He possessed Great Grade Celestial Immortal Divine Techniques and a whole host of Minor Divine Techniques, granting him abilities like Fireproofing, Water Avoidance, flight, and Earth Escape. After leaping from the carriage, he simply summoned a cloud and watched as the Bronze Horse Carriage plummeted to the ground, following unhurriedly behind it.

The sight of the Bronze Horse Carriage plummeting to the earth terrified the soldiers on both sides of the conflict. Troops scrambled to get out of the way as it landed with a thunderous CRASH, shattering into a pile of components. The impact sent the surrounding soldiers into a greater panic, and they scrambled even farther away.

At that moment, many soldiers also spotted Wang Yi arriving on his cloud, and they all assumed he was a master hired by the enemy, their vigilance heightening.

”Don’t panic. I’m just a Traveler passing through. I’ll fix my carriage and be on my way!”

Wang Yi spoke calmly, ignoring the thousands upon thousands of soldiers. He landed in front of the wrecked Bronze War Chariot and initiated his No-Damage Attack, silently repairing the vehicle.

The Bronze War Chariot reassembled itself at a speed visible to the naked eye. The surrounding soldiers stared in a stupor, their awe quickly turning to greater fear as they retreated even farther.

Soon, the Bronze War Chariot was fully repaired. Wang Yi climbed back aboard, cupped his hands in a polite gesture to the onlookers, and said, ”Please, carry on. I’ll be leaving now. Sorry for the disturbance!”

With that said, Wang Yi prepared to drive away. At that moment, however, a squad of soldiers in Red Armor charged in front of the Bronze War Chariot. Their leader, a figure in a white Mask, bellowed, ”Who do you think you are, and what place do you take this for? Since you’ve come, you can leave your name and then your life!”

Wang Yi looked toward the speaker.

”Oh? I’ve actually encountered a King. A Demon, is he?”

A trace of curiosity arose in Wang Yi, but he replied, ”General, I have no intention of causing a disturbance, nor do I wish to be drawn into your war. Please step aside. I’m on a tight schedule and have no time to waste here.”
