The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 601: Chapter 601- The Shocking News (3)

Reinhardt did not mind her curious glances and simply nodded his head.

”I see. That’s good.”

Then he slowly shifted the topic to something more serious.

”I believe Elina has already explained the situation to you. So I’ll be straightforward.”

Reinhardt didn’t circle around it. His golden eyes met Cecilia’s.

”Cecilia... I need your help to revive the World Tree.”

The moment those words fell, the room descended into silence.

All eyes focused on Cecilia; everything now depended on those delicate shoulders of hers.

Cecilia clenched her hands into fists and lowered her head.

Time passed by...

Just when it seemed like she had gone silent, she muttered in a low voice.

”I’m... not sure.”

Her words were filled with doubts and uncertainty.

”Elder sister Elina told me... that I am the last remaining royalty of Elfenheim... that I carry royal blood...”

”But I grew up in a secluded forest... I’ve never seen other elves before Lirae... I don’t know if... I really have the royal bloodline you speak of”...

”I-I don’t know what you expect from me... I heard about your plan... but... I don’t know if I am capable of doing it.”

At the end of her sentence, her voice began wavering and her head drooped even lower as if being pressed down from the weight of his expectations.

Reinhardt did not respond immediately. He simply looked at her.

Cecilia was someone who had lost everything and recently survived from hell. And now she was being asked to shoulder the fate of the world.

It would be a wonder if she were not nervous or uncertain.

What’s more, she was just a naïve young girl who grew in the protection of her parents a couple of years ago.

Reinhardt smiled.

”You’re thinking too far ahead. I’m not asking you to succeed, I’m asking you to try. If it works, that’s good. If it fails... We’ll find another way. You don’t need to prove your bloodline or your worth. You being here is already enough.”

His words had an effect.

The girl who seemed like she was being crushed by the burden placed on her looked a little relieved.

”So what do you think?”

Cecilia stared at Reinhardt and gave her honest answer.

”I want to give it a try.”

It was true that she was nervous.

The plan she was told about was much too grand for the current her to understand.

But more than that, she was afraid. Afraid of letting him down.

Reinhardt walked around his desk and stood before Cecilia. Up close, his presence felt even more overwhelming, though not suffocating.

There was a kind of warmth in his presence that made her feel assured.

”Don’t worry about whether you can do it or not. I already have my answer.”

Asterius’ words and the origin seed’s reaction were proof enough.

.

.

Training Grounds...

The vast open space used by the knights to train usually remained empty during the afternoon.

At this time, the knights were usually busy with duties or their daily lives.

However, today a crowd had gathered near this place.

Standing at the center of the field, Reinhardt looked over the land and nodded his head in satisfaction.

Around him were Melissa, Elina, Cecilia, and Lirae, the previous group who were in his office.

But they weren’t the only ones in this training field.

After seeing their commander walk towards the training field, the members of the Temple of Light crowded around him.

And seeing such a gathering, it naturally drew the attention of the curious townsfolk.

”Lord Reinhardt... are you planning to plant the World Tree seed here?”

Although he did not say anything and simply led them here, Melissa already guessed his intentions.

”Yes.”

Reinhardt gave a simple nod.

The training field was not only vast and empty but also fertile. The soil here is very rich.

Of course, Reinhardt did not choose this land for such a simple reason.

Deep below the ground, a mana vein passed through the land. Although this mana vein was not big, it was enough to nurture the budding World Tree’s seed for a while.

”This land is more than it appears. And once the World Tree takes root...”

He didn’t finish. There was no need to. Everyone present could already imagine it.

A transformed Snowpoint City. A place filled with rich mana and flourishing life.

The crowd looked on with curiosity.

The knights already had a vague idea, but the townsfolk didn’t.

Reinhardt checked the location one last time before proceeding forward.

”Let us begin.”

He was just about to take the Origin Seed out of his [Dimensional Storage] when suddenly his actions halted.

Bzzzz... a faint vibration spread from his coat.

Immediately, Reinhardt’s expression changed. The smile on his face disappeared, replaced by a serious looking expression.

From within his coat, he retrieved a small artifact, the transponder, and without delay, he activated it.

The next moment, a voice flowed through it.

It was clear and familiar. But the moment others heard it, their body stiffened. After all, it was none other than her Majesty the Queen.

”Rejoice, my knight. The proposal you put forth... has been approved.”

Reinhardt’s eyes sharpened.

”Thanks to the information you provided regarding Lunaris, the other kingdoms can no longer afford to ignore the threat of the demons.”

The Queen’s voice carried both authority and faint satisfaction.

”The law preventing anyone from venturing beyond the safe limits of the Tainted Lands has been abolished”...

”The plan is already in motion. The six remaining kingdoms, along with the allied nations, will soon gather in Solaris.”

She took a pause here and uttered the next words with a profound impact.

”To establish a new Allied Knight Order.”

A ripple passed through the knights.

Even though they didn’t mean to listen in on the conversation, the words from the Queen made their blood boil in excitement.

An alliance of nations?

A united knight order?

That was no small matter.

That was... History being rewritten.

While everyone around was still reeling from the shock, Reinhardt smiled and thanked the Queen.

”Thank you, Your Majesty.”

His voice held respect but also quiet pride.

The Queen’s response came immediately.

”Do not thank me. This is the result of your efforts. And your achievements do not end there.”

Hm?

Reinhardt’s expression shifted slightly.

”Thanks to you and your order’s efforts, ensuring that the Supreme Divine Treasure of Lunaris does not fall into demonic hands, all the rulers of the six kingdoms and smaller nations were impressed.”

Her tone turned a little soft and carried an emotion that none of the people here had witnessed before.

Although the people here did not think too deeply into it.

Securing the Supreme Divine Treasure of Lunaris was indeed a great feat.

Even holy knights like Bob, Zerina, and the others were quite surprised when their commander suddenly decided that they would head for another location before heading for their base.

However, when they secured the Supreme Divine Treasure from that location, they understood his reasoning.

Now, all of that effort bore fruit.

”Thanks to you, the weight of Solaris has increased significantly in the Summit. Even the rulers of other nations are beginning to show interest in the Temple of Light and its commander.”

The rulers of other nations were impressed?

For a knight, it was a matter of great honor.

However, Reinhardt was simply calm.

”I will continue to serve the kingdom.”

The Queen nodded in approval from the other side.

Then a beat later, she changed the topic.

”Where are you right now?”

”Your Majesty, I have returned back to my base in Snowpoint City.”

”I see, good. As of this moment, your accomplishments have been formally recognized.”

The Queen’s voice suddenly turned sharp, and out of nowhere, she dropped a bomb.

”You are no longer merely the governor of Snowpoint City. I hereby bestow upon you the title of its official lord.”

Silence descended onto the field.

Even the ever composed Reinhardt was taken aback.

That said, the series of shocks was yet to end.

”From this day forward... You hold the rank of Viscount.”

The final blow came, and time... seemed to come to a stop.

”Present yourself at the royal capital within a week for your formal inauguration.”

With that, the connection ended.

However, the shock her words caused did not dissipate for days or even weeks to come.

A heavy silence enveloped the place.

Be it Melissa or the knights, they all forgot how to speak.

In that moment, it felt as if even the wind had forgotten how to blow.

It took a while, but when the people finally came to themselves, a commotion erupted.

”A viscount? Commander became a viscount!!”

”The Supreme Divine Treasure... our efforts have been recognised.”

”This is a great honor.”

In the blink of an eye, the hullabaloo spread all around the surroundings.

Even the citizens who didn’t fully grasp the political weight could feel it.

Something monumental had just happened.
