The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 647- Zerina’s Ultimate Skill (2)

The air bent and the ground sank beneath her feet.

In the sky, a colossal shadow of a panther formed. But it was unstable, flickering and incomplete.

Reinhardt shook his head. He used an [Exalted Strike] at 50% percent strength to completely destroy it.

Exalted Strike- Description: A single, overwhelming attack imbued with divine wrath. Destroys anything in its path, including magical barriers, cursed objects, and even space itself. The strike leaves a scar of holy energy that lingers, preventing enemies from entering the area.

”You’re forcing it. Stop trying to use, but rather understand the essence of it.”

Zerina frowned. ”That’s not helpful.”

Reinhardt stepped closer and placed a finger lightly against her heart.

”Feel it. The power of gravity isn’t as simple as the manipulation of weight. Its dominance covers a lot more. Over movement, over space, over momentum. You just have to keep an open eye and feel the strength of your power. Don’t try to control it, let it guide you.”

Zerina’s face blushed. Reinhardt seemed to be unaware, but he was directly pressing at her... Still, she didn’t move away. Instead, she discarded her unnecessary thoughts and closed her eyes to feel and understand the essence of her power.

The dominance of gravity doesn’t just cover weight, it expands over movement, momentum and even space. She repeated those words in her heart and focused.

Zerina was among the most talented demi humans. Even in the Temple of Light, her genius could be ranked among the top five.

As they say, teach a fool ten things, and they will find but one. Teach a genius one, and they will find ten.

With Reinhardt’s help, Zerina made some headway. The chaotic energy around her began to calm.

Slowly and gradually, the crushing gravity stabilized. Then, at a visible rate, it condensed and refined itself. The cracking of the ground stopped, and even the air stopped distorting wildly.

Instead, everything around her began to feel familiar. Like she could control anything she wanted. Like she was the centre of everything.

Zerina looked at a boulder some distance away. And then the next moment, the boulder was crushed by a powerful gravity.

Zerina opened her eyes wide in surprise. Why wouldn’t she?

She didn’t even need to consciously activate her powers for this, and the boulder was crushed. Just by her stare.

Reinhardt watched quietly. ”Good, but you have barely just touched upon the essence of your powers. From this point on, you need to develop them. Only then can you progress with your ultimate skill”.

Zerina shifted her eyes from the rock to Reinhardt. At that moment, her eyes glowed with a brilliant dark purple light.

At the same moment, the gravity around Reinhardt intensified by more than ten times.

There were no visible changes. The air did not distort, nor did the ground crack, but if you look at the man, you would notice that some of Reinhart’s wild hair was now sticking down.

Of course, if it were anyone else, it wouldn’t be just their hair; the whole person would feel the effect on their body.

”So that’s how it is”.

Zerina observed her own powers in surprise. Then she grinned and in the next second, she vanished.

Reinhardt’s eyes sharpened slightly. She reappeared right behind him. Faster than before. Stronger than before.

Her claws came down, carrying extreme sharpness and the power of gravity layered at the edges.

Reinhardt hurriedly raised his hand to defend. RIP... His sleeves were instantly ripped off. And there was a small scar on his hand.

Of course, no blood appeared. Although they did not manage to cut through his skin, three faint lines appeared on the smooth skin of his arm. A testament that Zerina’s strength had increased.

The last attack, unlike her usual move, which carried extreme incisiveness and the light and heavy aspect of her gravity, was completely different.

Although it was sharper than ever, the essence of her gravity powers had changed. Now it no longer just makes you lighter or heavier. No, the claws, when they struck, severely slowed down movement.

Or in short, her attacks became undogeable in short range.

Of course, saying it was undogeable right now might be far fetched but in the future, it would surely become so.

Seeing that she was able to leave a mark on his body for the first time, Zerina froze in shock. Then, her grin widened.

”I did it.”

Reinhardt nodded. ”You did, but this is only just the beginning. Come, we are only just getting started.”

Although this was training for Zerina, Reinhardt couldn’t help but feel excited himself.

”Here I come, Commander,” Zerina grinned and charged forward.

As they battled, the jungle changed. What was once a quiet stretch of green was now a fractured battlefield.

Trees bent at unnatural angles, the ground uneven, pockets of compressed earth scattered like scars.

Claws wrapped in thick layers of dark purple gravity powers slashed at Reinhardt. Zerina was so fast that, to an untrained eye, she might as well look like a beam of purple light.

Just as the beam of purple light was about to clash with a fist wrapped in a very faint layer of white energy, something unexpected happened.

The fist stopped abruptly, and the claw easily bypassed it. However, before it could strike the man. The claw was deflected by the very same fist it passed by.

Zerina jumped back and opened some distance, looking at Reinhardt with astonishment.

The latter smiled. ”It looks like you have a good grasp on manipulating movement now. However, it still needs more refinement”.

That’s right, in that exchange, Zerina had used the gravity powers to lock down his movements. However, since she was still not too proficient with it, he was easily able to break out of it.

”You’re still thinking of gravity as weight. You need to break out of that mindset.”

Reinhardt casually picked up a small twig from the ground and flicked it at her.

”Stop it”.
