Chapter 2595: Chapter 2595: Visit The Elderly People

The listeners gasped in shock. They could not fathom how those ”violent” people had allowed Yu Qi and Long Hui to walk away unharmed.

”Are you absolutely sure you spoke with them?” The villager asked again, his voice trembling slightly.

”I believe so.” Yu Qi nodded calmly.

The village leader, having heard the commotion from afar, hurried over to join them. ”You actually went to see them?” He asked, his eyes fixed on Long Hui.

”Yes.” Long Hui replied simply.

”That is impossible.” The village leader found it very hard to believe.

”Well, I don’t know whether it is the truth or not, but I asked them about the person whom they almost killed. They told us the reason why they did that,” Yu Qi stated.

”Why?” The village leader asked immediately.

”That is because the person was trying to rob them. That was why they attacked that person and almost killed him.” Yu Qi explained to the villagers.

The villagers and the village leader looked extremely shocked. It was the first time they had ever heard about the reason behind that incident. The village leader suddenly thought of something. He recalled that person clearly. That man had indeed been a troublemaker before. He often took other people’s belongings in the village without permission. Because of that, many villagers disliked him. So, those people might have been telling the truth.

”You guys don’t have to worry too much. They will be moving later.” Yu Qi stated.

”They are moving out of that area?” The village leader was clearly surprised by that news.

”Yes.” Yu Qi nodded once again.

”Why?” The village leader asked, unable to hide his curiosity.

Those people had been living there for a long time. And now, they had suddenly agreed to move out after only a short conversation with these two people.

”Well, it is a secret between those people and me. You don’t have to know about that.” Yu Qi said lightly.

”It is getting late.” Long Hui stated.

”Yeah. Let’s see each other again tomorrow.” Yu Qi nodded in agreement.

Both of them nodded to the villagers and excused themselves. Long Hui sent Yu Qi to the house where the female medical team were staying, while he went to stay with the male medical team.

When Yu Qi entered the room, she immediately came face to face with Nurse Shin Teng, Nurse Liang Xiuying, and Doctor Fang Maomao. Nurse Guo Liqiu was also there, but she stood quietly behind the others, observing the situation.

”Where did you go?”

”Having a nice date tonight?”

”Having a loving boyfriend is indeed fantastic.”

”What are you talking about?” Yu Qi frowned slightly. ”We went to meet some people in the woods. After that, we met with several villagers and the village leader. It was not a romantic date like you are imagining.”

”Some people are living in the woods?” Nurse Liang Xiuying asked in surprise.

”Yes. My fiancé saw them while he was looking for firewood earlier.” Yu Qi explained.

”Are they from the village?” Doctor Fang Maomao asked curiously.

”No. The village leader also did not know who they were.” Yu Qi shook her head.

”Are they criminals in hiding?” Nurse Liang Xiuying speculated.

”No... They seemed normal. Well, my fiancé told me that he would check on them later.” Yu Qi stated. She then clapped her hands lightly. ”Alright, that is enough. You girls should go to sleep now. I want to take a quick shower before heading to bed.”

...

The next morning, they continued the same routine as before. The villagers lined up early to receive their health check-ups. While Yu Qi was working, the village leader approached her.

”Doctor Tang, there are several elderly people who cannot step out of their houses. Can you go to their houses to check on them?” The village leader requested politely.

”Oh... Yes, sure. I also wanted to ask you about that matter since I did not see many elderly people coming to our station here.” Yu Qi stated.

”Yes... yes... Actually, some of them do not believe in modern medicine very much. That is why they do not come over. Doctor Tang is a TCM practitioner, so they will not refuse the treatment.” The village leader explained.

”Okay. Let me pack some medicine and tools. Nurse Shin, come and follow me.” Yu Qi called Nurse Shin Teng to accompany her.

”Yes, Doctor Yu Qi.” Nurse Shin Teng nodded.

The village leader then led Yu Qi and Nurse Shin Teng to one of the houses. While they were walking along the path, they met Long Hui, who was carrying a bundle of firewood. It seemed that Long Hui was helping the villagers again.

”Where are you going?” Long Hui asked.

”We are going to visit the elderly people at their houses.” Yu Qi replied.

”Hmm... Okay.” Long Hui nodded.

Soon, they arrived at the house. The village leader knocked on the door. After a short moment, someone came over and opened it. A middle-aged woman appeared behind the door.

”Oh... Elder Su... What are you doing here?” The middle-aged woman asked when she saw the village leader.

”I am bringing a doctor to see your mother.” The village leader stated.

”I don’t think Mom will want to see a doctor. You know how my mother is.” The middle-aged woman said with a helpless expression.

”This is a TCM practitioner. So, she is not the type of doctor that you are thinking of.” The village leader explained patiently.

”Oh...” The middle-aged woman looked surprised when she heard that. ”I thought they were Western doctors only.”

”We know that many elderly people do not trust modern medicine. That is why I participated in this program.” Yu Qi said with a gentle smile.
