Pokémon: My Parallel World Daughters Revealed

Chapter 219: Wallace: Steven, You’re Fired (Power Stone Milestone Extra Chapter)

The video continued playing.

Less than twenty-four hours after the premiere ended, Light of the Diamond had already shattered the League’s box-office records and achieved the highest opening-week box office in the history of the Pokémon world.

Theaters across every region were packed.

For nearly half a month, screening schedules at major theaters were almost completely dominated by the movie.

One month later—

The Pokémon World Arts Association finally made an official announcement.

Light of the Diamond had successfully won an award at the 20th World Pokémon Golden Statue Awards.

The Golden Feather Award was the highest-level film award spanning every region and was only held once every three years.

Its judging panel consisted of veteran film critics and directors from across the regions, and any movie entered for consideration had to offer ”profound insight into the relationship between humans and Pokémon.”

No one had expected—

A movie that had been released less than a month ago would obtain the film industry’s highest honor so quickly.

The moment the news broke, the entire film industry was shaken.

The day of the Golden Feather Awards ceremony.

The venue was the top floor of Prism Tower in Lumiose City, Kalos.

The entire floor had been transformed into a massive banquet hall.

A red carpet stretched from Prism Tower’s main entrance all the way to the awards stage, while both sides were packed with reporters and photographers.

The host of the awards ceremony was former Kalos Queen Aria.

She wore an elegant white gown trimmed in gold, with a small crown resting atop her head, giving her an air of refined elegance.

”Distinguished guests, welcome to the 20th World Pokémon Golden Statue Awards.”

Aria smiled toward the audience.

”Our first award of the evening is—Best Director.”

”Now, please welcome the director and producer of this film, Miss Diantha, to the red carpet!”

A stretch limousine stopped at the entrance to the red carpet.

The door opened.

Diantha stepped onto the carpet with her long, graceful stride.

Today, she wore a deep-purple evening gown, her hair neatly pinned up behind her head.

She looked confident and elegant.

”Miss Diantha! This is your first time participating in a movie as a director. How did it feel?”

Diantha accepted the microphone, her tone calm and professional.

”As a director, I’m honored that I was able to bring the history of the Diamond Domain to the big screen.”

”As a mother, I’m incredibly proud to see the talent Elaria displayed in this movie.”

A gentle smile appeared on her face.

”And I believe that, on this path, she’ll eventually go even farther than I ever did.”

[Skyla]: Master’s reached the point where both her career and family life are thriving.

[Diantha]: I haven’t even received the memories yet. Save the praise until after they arrive.

[Elesa]: I seriously don’t understand. We’re all getting exposed in these videos, so how is your mentality so much better than the three of ours?

[Diantha]: Isn’t that because you three already took the hits for me beforehand? The forerunners plant the trees so the ones who come later can enjoy the shade.

[Cynthia]: ...So the three of us were your human shields?

[Diantha]: How can you call yourselves human shields? You’re trailblazers.

[Misty]: If you’re taking it this well, why don’t you just move over here already? We’ve got plenty of rooms anyway.

[Diantha]: ...Let’s wait a little longer. I still think the proper process should be followed.

The video continued playing.

Aria pulled out a second card.

”Next, please welcome the winners of the Best Actress Award, Miss Elaria and Diancie, to the red carpet!”

Another limousine pulled up beside the carpet.

The door opened.

Elaria stepped out while holding Diancie’s hand.

The two wore matching little golden crowns, giving them both an elegant and refined appearance.

”Miss Elaria! This was your first time serving as both a producer and lead actress. What was your biggest takeaway from the experience?”

Elaria accepted the microphone and thought seriously for a moment.

”My biggest takeaway is—making movies is really exhausting.”

”Whenever I watched Mommy act before, I always thought standing in front of a camera and saying your lines looked easy.”

”But after trying it myself, I realized that sometimes you have to repeat a single line more than ten times before it’s good enough.”

”There was one scene where I filmed from eight in the morning until six in the evening. By the time we finished, I fell asleep in the lounge. I didn’t even notice Hoopa using its ring to send me home.”

”Then will you continue making movies in the future?”

”I will.”

Elaria nodded, her golden eyes lighting up.

”Because Diancie said she wants to make more meaningful stories.”

”I promised her.”

”So no matter how tiring it gets, I’ll keep making them.”

Diancie slightly turned her head toward Elaria.

Her red eyes shimmered softly.

[Mallow]: That little movement when Elaria said, ”I promised her”! Diancie turned to look at Elaria, and her eyes were so gentle!

[Professor Juniper]: That’s what a bond looks like. Elaria and Diancie truly trust each other.

[Professor Oak]: Mm. As long as a Trainer sincerely cares for their Pokémon, no matter what path they choose, they’ll be able to go very far.

The video continued playing.

Aria pulled out the final card.

”Next, please welcome the winner of the Best Villain Award—Mr. Steven Stone!”

The final limousine stopped at the entrance to the red carpet.

The door had barely opened before Steven was immediately bombarded by countless camera flashes.

Because right now—

He was wearing the complete Dark Ore King costume.

A high-collared black coat.

Hair fixed with so much gel that it stood at an extremely dangerous vertical angle.

From a distance, he looked like an electrocuted Staraptor attempting to take flight.

Aria froze.

It wasn’t until Steven had walked right up to her that she finally came back to her senses.

”Oh my goodness—are you really Mr. Steven Stone?! Mr. Stone, why did you come here wearing your villain costume?!”

”This is the Dark Ore King’s formal attire.”

Steven straightened his collar, his expression extremely serious.

”As an actor with professional integrity, I must keep myself in peak condition for my role at all times.”

The corner of Aria’s mouth twitched.

If Steven hadn’t been the Champion of Hoenn, she would’ve seriously suspected that there was something wrong with this man’s head.

”Mr. Stone! Look this way!”

”Champion Steven! We heard you played the villain in the movie. Was this your first attempt at acting?”

”Mr. Stone! What did you think of Diancie’s performance?”

The reporters snapped pictures like crazy.

Questions poured in like a breached dam, one after another without any sign of stopping.

Steven, meanwhile, simply stood in the middle of the red carpet posing however he pleased.

Every now and then, he even improvised a few lines from the movie.

[VIP Chat Group]

[Wallace]: I hereby announce that I do not know this person. The Hoenn League has never had a Champion named Steven Stone. Effective immediately, Steven is expelled from the Hoenn region.

[Adam]: Wallace, you’d better think this through. If Steven leaves, you’ll have to go back to being Champion.

[Wallace]: That’s fine. For the sake of preserving the Hoenn League’s dignity, I’ll make the sacrifice. @Cynthia, does Sinnoh want him? I can transfer Steven’s regional registration over right now.

[Cynthia]: ...No.

[Wallace]: What about Unova?

[Steven]: Wallace, how could you do this to me?! Didn’t we agree that the Hoenn Iron Triangle would stay together forever?!

[Wallace]: Who agreed to that?! You announced it completely on your own! I never agreed to anything!

[Steven]: But you never refused either! If you don’t refuse, that means you agreed by default! In the words of my Brother Asher—silence means consent!

[Asher]: ...
