Pokémon: My Parallel World Daughters Revealed

Faced with Diancie’s question, Elaria suddenly had no idea how to answer.

She couldn’t exactly say that Uncle Steven was a mineral fanatic and that this entire trip had been for Diancie, could she?

”Actually, my father has admired the legends of the Diamond Domain for a very long time. We took the liberty of visiting today because he simply couldn’t hold back his desire to see the Diamond Domain with his own eyes.”

Ruri smoothly took over the conversation.

”So we asked Elaria to bring us here.”

After hearing that, Diancie’s gaze moved back and forth between Ruri and Steven before she gave a small nod.

”I see. Since you’re Elaria’s friends, please follow me.”

”But won’t that be too much trouble for you?”

Elaria spoke up.

”We’d be fine looking around by ourselves too.”

”It’s all right.”

Diancie rose from her throne and waved toward the Carbink on either side.

”You all go make the preparations first. I’ll show our guests around.”

The Carbink all bowed in unison before marching deeper into the palace in neat formation.

Diancie led everyone through a long corridor paved with pink diamond, soft fluorescent light flowing across the crystalline walls on both sides.

As they walked, she explained the history of the Diamond Domain.

Her initially reserved tone gradually grew more animated.

When she reached the legend of the first Diancie creating the Heart Diamond, her voice suddenly dropped, and her expression became incredibly resolute.

”The first Diancie poured all of her life force into that diamond. Her body dissolved into countless motes of light and scattered into the air, while the diamond became the eternal source of light upon which every Carbink depended!”

”However, the energy of the Heart Diamond is not truly eternal.”

Diancie’s body slowly collapsed onto the steps beneath the throne, her voice becoming incredibly weak.

”Every Heart Diamond gradually loses its energy as time passes. Once that energy is completely exhausted, the entire underground kingdom will collapse and shatter, and every Carbink will lose its vitality and become nothing more than cold stone.”

”From that day onward, every generation of Diancie has created a new Heart Diamond before reaching the end of her life! It is a relay spanning tens of millions of years! The eternal flame of the Diamond Domain that must never be extinguished!!”

After finishing those words—

She stopped moving.

The palace remained completely silent for five whole seconds.

Ruri was the first to speak.

”Is she waiting for applause?”

Elaria cautiously took a step forward.

”Diancie? Are you okay?”

Diancie slowly opened her eyes.

She gracefully rose from the floor and spoke again in her usual gentle voice.

”And that is how each generation passes the responsibility on to the next in the Diamond Domain. I hope that little performance helped you understand it better.”

[VIP Chat Group]

[Steven]: ????? The moment Diancie collapsed, my heart actually stopped! And that was just a performance?! Princess Diancie! Please, I’m begging you, never do that again!

[Asher]: Amazing.

[Wallace]: Steven really doesn’t look like he’s acting.

[Diantha]: Ahem. As a professional actress, I have to give an objective assessment here—Diancie’s performance just now, from the body language to the pacing of her lines and even that final freeze at the end, could at least win Best Short Film at the Kalos Film Festival.

[Lisia]: That’s incredibly high praise coming from Miss Diantha!

[Valerie]: But I genuinely never expected Diancie to have such a strong desire to perform.

[Iris]: Hahaha! So is Diancie usually really bored in the Diamond Domain? Does she just put on shows for the Carbink whenever she has nothing else to do?

[Dawn]: Now that you mention it, Diancie suddenly seems so cute. On the outside, she’s the noble and aloof princess of the Diamond Domain, but on the inside, she’s actually a total theater kid?

[Acerola]: Isn’t that even better?! A theater-kid princess!! I absolutely love that!!

[Elesa]: In that case, I can understand why Diancie eventually chose to follow Elaria. Her mother is a famous actress, and Elaria herself should have plenty of talent for performing too. It wouldn’t be surprising if she and Diancie connected over something like this.

The video continued playing.

Elaria gently clasped her hands in front of her chest, her golden eyes lighting up.

”Diancie, your performance was really amazing.”

Diancie froze slightly.

The diamond crown atop her head shimmered beneath the soft light.

”...Thank you. It’s only a traditional epic of the Diamond Domain. Every generation of Diancie knows it, so it isn’t anything particularly special.”

”No.”

Elaria shook her head seriously, her voice soft but firm.

”Mommy said that a good performance can show the audience worlds they’ve never seen before and let them feel emotions they’ve never experienced.”

”The story of the Diamond Domain is so moving. It would be such a shame if only the Carbink ever got to see it.”

Diancie blinked.

”You mean...”

Elaria took a small step forward and gently clasped her hands against her chest.

”Diancie, would you like to make a movie with me?”

”A movie?”

Diancie’s eyes widened slightly, and her little hands unconsciously tightened around the edges of her skirt.

”No, no. If I suddenly appeared in the outside world, wouldn’t that cause trouble for all of you?”

”It won’t.”

Elaria reached into her pocket and pulled out a small badge.

”Elaria is the Minister of the World League’s Cultural Department now. I still have a lot to learn, but this position can help with a lot of things.”

Hoopa floated up above her head and planted its little hands on its hips.

”That’s right, that’s right! Hoopa can open a hundred rings too! We’ll let the whole world watch! One ring in Kalos, one in Alola, one in Galar, one in Kanto—Hoopa will set them up everywhere for Diancie!”

”I...”

Diancie lowered her head and clasped her little hands together in front of her chest.

Her voice dropped more than a full pitch softer than usual.

”I’d like to try... But I’m not really sure whether I can act well enough.”

Ruri stepped out from behind Elaria and clapped her hands.

”All right. Since Elaria has decided to make this movie, Devon Corporation will provide all the funding.”

”Wait, Ruri.”

Steven patted Ruri on the arm.

”Shouldn’t something like this be discussed with your grandpa first?”

”Dad, have you been gone so long that you’ve completely fallen out of touch with the company?”

Ruri didn’t even turn around.

”Grandpa’s already semi-retired. I’m the General Manager now. What I say goes.”

”Besides, we’re talking about the screen debut of a Mythical Pokémon combined with a live cross-regional broadcast. With that level of attention and publicity, it doesn’t matter how much we spend on sponsorship—we’ll make it all back.”

”Devon Corporation’s brand exposure this year will double. Grandpa will probably praise me once he sees the report.”

”Then I’ve got nothing to worry about!”

Steven rushed in front of Elaria in a single stride, fanatical flames practically burning in his eyes.

”My dear niece! Please, you absolutely have to let your uncle make a cameo in the movie! A supporting role is fine! An extra is fine! I’ll even play some random passerby digging for stones in the background!”

”Dad, the way you’re acting right now makes you more suited to playing the villain.”

Ruri’s expression remained completely blank.
