Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2001: Chapter 1552: Encounters at the Old Castle

Bai Xiaosheng and two others arrived by car at the forecourt of Andeliao Castle. Getting out of the car, even Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t help but admire the grand building before him. It wasn’t the largest castle they’d ever seen, nor the most artistic, but its incorporation of local cultural elements made it incredibly eye-catching.

If it weren’t inconvenient, Bai Xiaosheng truly wanted to stroll around and capture the charming details on camera to send to Master Song Kai.

After all, the old man particularly loved architecture.

Oh well, I’ll just look up some photos online later to send to the old man, even if they lack many of the details to savor, Bai Xiaosheng mused.

After Andeliao Castle came under private ownership, it was no longer open to the public. After renovations, there are even fewer circulating images. Even if there are a few photos, they are hard to find amidst the vast sea of online image repositories. But for Bai Xiaosheng, it wasn’t too difficult; it was merely a thought away.

”Mr. Bai, please follow me.” Daisy came to Bai Xiaosheng’s side and spoke softly.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled at Daisy and, with Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, followed her lead toward the castle entrance.

There were also many servants, maids, and gardeners on the forecourt of Andeliao Castle. Those in the distance merely glanced at Bai Xiaosheng and his group, while those nearby stopped and bowed in silent salutation. They had explicit instructions not to engage in conversation with guests unless the guests initiated it. To them, Bai Xiaosheng and his companions were just a few ordinary visitors, nothing to be curious about.

Bai Xiaosheng and his companions returned the courtesy to those who greeted them.

Thus, they arrived at one of the castle’s entrances.

There stood a white gentleman in a crisp suit, standing straight, embodying the image of an ”English butler” as Chinese people imagine it.

After Bai Xiaosheng and his companions approached, Daisy stepped forward to communicate with the old butler, saying these were the people Mr. Meifu wanted to see.

The old butler cast a glance at Bai Xiaosheng and the others, his expression indifferent, ”Then you should take them along. Remind them to be careful, the furnishings in the castle are extremely expensive artworks.”

This butler didn’t seem to be here to welcome Bai Xiaosheng and his companions, but rather to oversee the castle’s staff.

As Daisy led Bai Xiaosheng and the others past, the butler didn’t even look at them. His demeanor carried a typical English arrogance.

Once inside, in a less populated area, Daisy quietly told Bai Xiaosheng, ”That’s not Meifu’s butler, but Mr. Landvo’s man. Today he is in charge of everything in the castle.”

Landvo is the head of the South America Division of the Zhenbei Group.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying exchanged glances.

”This is supposed to be Meifu’s castle, yet it’s Mr. Landvo’s butler running it,” Bai Xiaosheng remarked meaningfully.

If Daisy hadn’t mentioned it, they likely wouldn’t have known the situation.

It’s also a piece of indirect evidence.

”Yes, it’s always Mr. Landvo’s people who manage affairs inside and outside the castle,” Daisy said in a low voice, ”Although Meifu’s family resides here, the one managing things is not under his command, and everything is arranged according to Mr. Landvo’s preferences. Every time Mr. Landvo is in New Orleans, he stays here.”

”Interesting,” Bai Xiaosheng replied softly.

By the sound of it, Meifu’s family seems more like guests, and Landvo is the true master.

The key point is, with the salary from the Group, it’s doubtful Landvo could afford this castle!

Bai Xiaosheng had Red Lotus investigate, and Landvo’s family was in decline. His parents and other close relatives perished in a major air disaster, and the family’s assets aren’t substantial. As a family, they can’t compare with the Soruns Family of the European region...

Inside Andeliao Castle, everyone could distinctly feel its uniqueness.

The castle is mostly ancient architecture, some of which have undergone modern renovations, though not entirely, affecting lighting and giving a dim feeling.

But here, it’s completely different, with a new lighting model and masterful design, making it spacious and bright inside.

The surroundings were a smorgasbord of decor: Huaxia porcelain, European crystalware, and African wood carvings, all elegantly antiqued and without exception, luxuriously expensive.

As Bai Xiaosheng’s gaze swept across, Red Lotus assisted in estimating the prices.

At this moment, Bai Xiaosheng was practically a human barcode scanner.

Wealth, luxury, extravagance!

Such words kept surfacing in Bai Xiaosheng’s mind.

Daisy led Bai Xiaosheng and the others upstairs, quickly arriving at a door to a room.

This was one of Mr. Meifu’s reception rooms, which also had a suite within.

Daisy knocked on the door, and receiving a response, she opened it, inviting Bai Xiaosheng and the others inside.

Meifu was lounging comfortably and arrogantly on the sofa, with his legs crossed, a cigar nestled between his fingers.

When Bai Xiaosheng and the others entered, Meifu saw them but showed no sign of getting up, as if their visit didn’t merit his standing, as if Bai Xiaosheng and the others were there to pay homage to someone important.

”Mr. Meifu, the guests have arrived,” Daisy reported voluntarily to Meifu.

Despite knowing what this man had done to her and how much she resented him, Daisy still followed Bai Xiaosheng’s instructions.

Outwardly, she didn’t show a trace of emotion.

Meifu gave a slight nod, his gaze sweeping over the faces of Bai Xiaosheng, Lei Ying, and Lin Weiwei.

Bai Xiaosheng appeared very young, lacking any haughty expression, instead, a serene calmness filling his face. He was now looking at him with a subtle, inscrutable smile.

So this is the young man with connections to the Qin Family!

At this age, at most he might have some connection with a younger member of the Qin Family.

A young person from the Qin Family who whimsically befriended an ordinary person?

From Huaxia, are there any super influential families over there? Meifu pondered to himself.

Even if this kid has some kind of background in Huaxia, here he is nothing!

Meifu never cared about Bai Xiaosheng’s background, he was just wary of their skills.

Meifu’s gaze shifted to Lei Ying, and his eyes narrowed slightly.

This big guy, is he the formidable expert Ruby described? Sure enough, he doesn’t look ordinary! He really has a bit of that NO.2 vibe!

However, compared to NO.2, he is far inferior!

From him, one can’t even feel that chilling aura, how formidable could he be!

Meifu scrutinized Lei Ying, feeling that NO.2 was much stronger, so he was full of confidence and not that apprehensive about Lei Ying.

As for what Ruby said about Bai Xiaosheng being very skilled, Meifu didn’t care at all.

In Meifu’s view, once NO.2 appears, the two of them together are nothing!

They are simply not on the same level!

Thinking of this, Meifu’s expression grew even more arrogant.

Today, he called these Huaxia people not for negotiation, but to humiliate them, to hold them accountable, to make them understand the consequences of ruining his good deeds!

There is absolutely no need to give these people any face!

Soon after, Meifu saw Lin Weiwei and was immediately captivated.

A Huaxia beauty! Meifu’s eyes couldn’t hide the fervor.

Seeing Meifu staring at her like that, Lin Weiwei was extremely displeased and turned her head away.

If it weren’t for the wrong occasion, she would have been furious by now.

Bai Xiaosheng plainly coughed once, interrupting Meifu’s eager gaze.

If not for Meifu’s brother-in-law, Bai Xiaosheng would have taught him a lesson for ogling Lin Weiwei so lecherously, making him learn some manners and decency.

Meifu gave Bai Xiaosheng a dissatisfied glance, then smiled at Lin Weiwei, ”Lady, come, have a seat! Would you like something to drink? I’ll have them bring it over!”

”No need.” Lin Weiwei coldly refused.

Meifu wasn’t annoyed, still smiling.

”A cup of black tea, two cups of coffee!” Bai Xiaosheng requested with a smile from the side.

Meifu looked at Bai Xiaosheng, his smile faded, eyes showing displeasure.

Seems like Bai Xiaosheng shouldn’t have interrupted.

Seeing Meifu turning towards him, Bai Xiaosheng smiled at him, ”Mr. Meifu, it can’t be that you can’t even afford a cup of water here, right? Otherwise, shall I have someone go outside and buy two cups?”

This remark was very irritating to Meifu, who snorted coldly and instructed Daisy, ”Go tell them to bring a cup of black tea and two cups of coffee.”

”Make sure they’re good!” Bai Xiaosheng rudely added, ”If they can’t even reach the usual standard outside, it would be embarrassing to say that the distinguished Mr. Meifu can’t afford some face!”

Bai Xiaosheng’s words were laced with mockery and disdain, making Meifu’s face alternately flush with anger without a word to refute.

Even Daisy felt amused, feeling satisfied seeing Meifu at a loss.

Meifu frowned and instructed Daisy, ”Go, have the tea and coffee served for the guests, let this gentleman have a taste!”

When saying this, Meifu was practically gritting his teeth.

After speaking, Meifu glared at Bai Xiaosheng, intending to see what other tricks he was up to.

Daisy also looked at Bai Xiaosheng.

This time, Bai Xiaosheng appeared quite satisfied, smiling at Daisy, ”Thanks for your trouble.”

Daisy nodded, suppressing her laughter, and stepped out.

Before Meifu could speak, Bai Xiaosheng led Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying over, and he unceremoniously sat across from Meifu, while Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying stood on either side behind him.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled at Meifu, his expression sincere, his voice enthusiastic, ”Finally, we meet, Mr. Meifu! I’ve long been looking forward to it! I have quite a lot to discuss privately with you!”

Meifu looked coldly at Bai Xiaosheng.

A lot to discuss with him?

Too bad, he has no interest in idle chatter!
