Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 1902: Chapter 1493: Inciting Public Outrage

Cangyun Pharmaceuticals, with its vast campus, is fully equipped with office buildings, dormitory buildings, cafeterias, entertainment buildings, and factory areas.

Among these structures, the most ”expensive” one is the R&D building.

The R&D building had special architectural requirements. At the time, several experts were invited to design it, and a top-tier construction team handled the exclusive construction. Inside, even the most junior interns were graduates from renowned universities. All five core research teams were led by figures well-known within the industry. All instruments and equipment used for research were procured globally.

Saying that Cangyun Pharmaceuticals has the best research resources in the country is no exaggeration.

With the addition of Mo Chengju as a powerful manager, this company ranks among the top ten nationwide in the field of biopharmaceutical research and production!

One would expect the R&D team, the backbone of Cangyun Pharmaceuticals, to be the cherished darlings of the company owner.

However, at present, Gou Dahou, the son of the big boss of Cangyun Pharmaceuticals, ordered everyone in the research team to stop what they were doing and gather in the lobby on the first floor of the R&D building, stating that he wanted to hold a small meeting. Meetings usually take place in offices, and holding one in the lobby is inappropriate. Furthermore, Gou Dahou didn’t even have seats prepared. Regardless of whether they were young people with heavy dark circles from working overtime day and night, or elderly researchers with gray hair, all stood in the lobby on the first floor.

Moreover, those brought by Gou Dahou made them stand in orderly formations as if awaiting inspection.

Forming the queue alone took these researchers a full quarter of an hour to satisfy the people under Gou Dahou.

”I’ve gathered everyone here because I have some important things to say to you.” Gou Dahou stood proudly in front of dozens of people, a smile on his face filled with his own sense of authority, ”What I’m about to say may take a bit of time, so everyone should listen carefully and grasp the essence...”

Before getting to the main topic, Gou Dahou rambled on for a full ten minutes.

This was something that the researchers, who cherished their time like gold, found unbearable.

”Mr. Gou, could you please hurry up? We have many experiments to conduct. Earlier, your people asked us to stop our work and come down, saying it would just be a few words and wouldn’t take long; otherwise, we wouldn’t have all come down here without leaving anyone behind. But standing in a queue took fifteen minutes and twenty seconds, and you’re still dragging on. Our work can’t be delayed,” someone couldn’t help but say.

These words immediately resonated with everyone else.

”Yes, our Petri dishes are unattended and can only remain so for thirty to forty minutes at most; prolonged time won’t do.”

”Our instruments are still running; once the analysis is done, we need to carry out other procedures immediately.”

”Mr. Gou, I think you should keep it brief and to the point.”

...

Facing the rising voices of criticism from the crowd, Gou Dahou’s eyes darkened, showing obvious displeasure.

When he lectured departments in the company, he had never been treated this way.

People urged him before he even got to the main topic and asked him to get straight to the point without digressing.

Damn it! Who do these researchers think they are! You’re earning salaries from our family and eating from our family’s bowl, yet you act so insolently! I haven’t even begun the main topic, and you dare rush me to finish? Who gave you the nerve? Was it Mo Chengju!

Gou Dahou’s heart burned with rage, as he silently thought—

I’ve said it before; if this continues, this company will change its surname to Mo, instead of Gou!

Today, I’m going to implement reforms decisively, so you all know who really gives you your paycheck!

As he thought of this, Gou Dahou couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh, looking at the person who first spoke out.

It was a middle-aged man with messy hair and a stubbly beard.

”Who is this guy?!” Gou Dahou pointed at the person with his finger but asked the person beside him.

Being so rudely pointed at, the man furrowed his brows.

The assistant next to Gou Dahou, flipping through the name list, replied, ”He’s the deputy team leader of the first research group, Yu Shuangtian.”

”Just a deputy team leader?” Gou Dahou sneered, looking down on him, ”I thought it was someone important, yet a small employee dares to shout at me!”

Gou Dahou’s expression was disdainful, and his words were insulting, causing Yu Shuangtian to become visibly angry.

However, before Yu Shuangtian could speak, Gou Dahou had already coldly instructed the person next to him, ”Fire him for me!”

The assistant next to Gou Dahou nodded decisively, ”Yes, Director!”

As he spoke, the person took out a thick pen and crossed out a name on the list.

That action implied removing Yu Shuangtian from his position!

Yu Shuangtian was stunned upon seeing this.

What did he do? Why was he being fired?

Even though he had spoken bluntly, it was the truth!

And this director in front of him, insulting him with words, had just fired him on a whim in front of everyone? Not even a dog would be dismissed so carelessly!

Yu Shuangtian could barely believe what he was seeing.

The other researchers were equally shocked, unable to believe it.

The entire room fell silent, everyone looking at Gou Dahou in disbelief. They tried hard to recall if Yu Shuangtian had said anything wrong.

But even after racking their brains, they only felt Yu Shuangtian had simply been a bit blunt in his words.

Gou Dahou looked at the people who seemed ”intimidated” by his words, feeling immensely satisfied.

How about that, all dumbfounded now!

Each of you, acting all high and mighty every day, wasn’t it just because Mo Chengju spoiled you? But I, Gou Dahou, won’t indulge you!

In front of me, not knowing your place, I’ll let you see what power is!

Now, you all understand who holds your life and death in their hands, right?

Me, Gou Dahou!

Gou Dahou couldn’t help but feel triumphant.

”You want to fire me? On what grounds?!” Yu Shuangtian couldn’t help but angrily shout.

”Because this company is mine, because you are working for my family!” Gou Dahou pointed at him, dripping with arrogance, ”You don’t respect me, so why should I keep you!”

Speaking while threateningly glancing at others, as well.

Yu Shuangtian was trembling with anger.

An elderly man beside him immediately frowned and anxiously said to Gou Dahou, ”Mr. Gou, you can’t do this! You can’t fire Yu! Our research work can’t do without him; he is the core of our team, and his deputy position is just because he is modest...”

”Will the earth stop rotating without him?” Gou Dahou laughed sarcastically as he asked.

The questioned person was dumbfounded.

Will the earth stop if someone leaves?

”Just a mere researcher, someone who spends money within the company, not earning any from sales! What’s the big deal about being a deputy or a team leader? Aren’t these roles decided by us!” Gou Dahou smirked at everyone, ”Remember this, who really pays your salaries! Nowadays, jobs aren’t easy to find!”

Gou Dahou flaunted his authority.

All researchers glared at him furiously.

Gou Dahou wasn’t just insulting Yu Shuangtian, but all of them!

R&D might be costly, but doesn’t it generate value for the company?

Such ignorant statements!

These researchers inherently aren’t great at verbal confrontations, with their anger boiling but suppressed in their chests.

”You want me to leave? Fine, but I need to wrap up my work properly. Give me two months, and I will resign on my own!” Yu Shuangtian gritted his teeth as he confronted Gou Dahou.

Yu Shuangtian was unwilling to abandon his team’s hard work, hoping to see things through to the end, holding their position for the sake of his team members, ensuring they wouldn’t suffer due to his departure!

”Mr. Yu, you can’t leave!”

”Yes, Mr. Yu, the team can’t function without you!”

”Don’t go! You did nothing wrong!”

”We will go to Mo for justice!”

The researchers shouted angrily.

Gou Dahou’s expression darkened when he heard this, especially when he heard them mention finding Mo Chengju, his fury intensified.

”Ha, Yu Shuangtian, are you kidding me!” Gou Dahou’s voice was mocking as he spoke loudly, even pointing firmly at him, ”Now, I am firing you! Fired, do you understand? This is not a negotiation! You shamelessly want to delay for two months before leaving? No way! Get out now, did you hear me!”

”And all of you! Going to Mo Chengju? It won’t help you!” Gou Dahou stared at everyone, shouting, ”This is my family’s company, mine, to do with as I please! Mo Chengju is just a worker hired by my family; if we decide, we can even fire him! Let him tuck his tail and leave!”

Yu Shuangtian and others were shocked and angry.

Such words dared to be spoken by Gou Dahou.

What did he take everyone for?

To be insulted and scolded at will!

Even Mo Chengju is belittled like a dog!

”All right! Fine, since Mr. Gou despises me so much, then I will leave, right now!” Yu Shuangtian laughed out of extreme anger.

”I’ll leave too!”

”Me too, leaving!”

”Not working here anymore!”

In an instant, the crowd roared.
