Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 1901: Chapter 1492: I Really Have Turned Bad_3

”Actually, the projects that the boss wanted to stop, we are still continuing!”

Mo Chengju trusted Bai Xiaosheng and also thought Bai Xiaosheng was an outsider, so it didn’t matter if he spoke about these matters.

”Still continuing? Aren’t you afraid of being discovered?” Bai Xiaosheng pretended to be surprised.

In fact, from the clues previously mentioned by Mo Chengju, Bai Xiaosheng could already infer a thing or two.

Mo Chengju would not easily abandon something that was about to succeed. His compromise and humility had deeper meanings. It seemed he was doing it all to cover up and ensure the continued progress of those developments.

”We are continuing the projects that the boss wants stopped within the existing projects. Once successful, I will personally explain it to the boss!” Mo Chengju said, ”Our R&D team is now working overtime voluntarily every day. Like those outside say, the ’996’ schedule of 9 AM to 9 PM for six days a week is inhumane, but for our R&D team, they devote all their time and energy to work, leaving only eating and sleeping!”

Mo Chengju paused, took a deep breath, and said with admiration, ”Back then, they all begged me not to let those projects stop, saying they only needed a little more time, just a little bit! Where else could I find such good employees?”

”Even if it’s for them, for my own pride, I can’t let the boss’s wrong judgment affect our research!” Mo Chengju said resolutely, ”Since no amount of persuasion works, I’ll risk going against the rules just this once. Even though I know I shouldn’t!”

Bai Xiaosheng asked again, ”Then how are you handling the R&D funds?”

”Currently, those projects are in their final stages, and the funds needed are not as substantial as in the early stages. I’ve repeatedly explained this to the boss, but he just won’t listen! Consequently, I saved on some unnecessary company expenses and put them into the projects first,” Mo Chengju sighed, ”In terms of management, I have the authority to allocate company resources as needed without affecting other operations. This is not considered misappropriation of company funds. However, ultimately, it goes against the boss’s intentions. I’m not doing this for myself, and I’m not afraid to take the blame! Even if I get held accountable later or lose my position, I’ll accept it!”

Mo Chengju’s gaze was firm, ”I recruited these people one by one, and I promised not to let them down, so I’ll keep my word!”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded slightly.

Mo Chengju’s approach involved exercising his rights without any selfish motives.

But ultimately, it still went against the boss’s decision.

The greater the success, the greater the ”offense” might be.

”Mo Chengju was truly open with me. It seems if I hadn’t come, he might have kept these words inside, not revealing them to anyone else,” Bai Xiaosheng thought, ”I made him say these things, giving Qian Bei enough ’evidence’ to use against him. Although the trap was set by someone else, I indeed facilitated it intentionally. Even though I did it for Mo Chengju’s good, why do I still feel a bit guilty?”

Bai Xiaosheng couldn’t bear to see a sincere person like Mo Chengju end up being calculated by him.

”Why feel guilty! I’m helping Mo Chengju out of his predicament... Hmm, once he comes over to my side, I’ll give him the resources he needs, money and people, to fully let him showcase his talents. I’ll give those he brings high salaries and shares, and be a good boss,” Bai Xiaosheng thought, ”That feels much better.”

After recording Mo Chengju’s words, Bai Xiaosheng secretly instructed Red Lotus to disable the hidden equipment.

Otherwise, being recorded all the time would be too uncomfortable.

For the Gou family, this was enough to send Mo Chengju packing.

After all, what they needed was just an excuse.

To add someone’s crime requires no reason; having these recordings is even more convenient!

”Mr. Mo Chengju, if there comes a day when you’re no longer working here—I’m just saying if—I could find you a better platform, where you could have collaboration opportunities with Lai Yin’s Team, with the greatest authority and resources, to fully manage a multinational pharmaceutical company. Would you be interested?” Bai Xiaosheng asked with a smile.

Mo Chengju was taken aback, thinking Bai Xiaosheng was joking.

Even if Bai Xiaosheng knew Lai Yin’s Team or large capital investors, how could he have such authority? Starting a new multinational company wouldn’t likely let him be in charge.

Mo Chengju laughed heartily, ”If that day really comes as you say, of course, I would be willing!”

”Great! Hearing that is enough!” Bai Xiaosheng clapped his hands and laughed.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying exchanged smiling glances.

Mo Chengju might not yet realize that his unintentional promise had already formed an agreement with his future boss.

At this moment, in another room, Qian Bei sat in front of the computer, his eyes shining brightly as he stared at the screen.

The screen was playing a video, and the sound made his heart race.

On the first day, right after installing the surveillance equipment, he got the perfect ”evidence” from Mo Chengju!

”This is simply a blessing from the heavens, my opportunity to shine!” Qian Bei smiled ecstatically.

Although he didn’t know why the expensive surveillance equipment suddenly failed earlier, he still captured what he wanted!

All Qian Bei felt was happiness.

”Mo Chengju, oh Mo Chengju, really must apologize, but you might have to leave today,” Qian Bei edited the video, laughing coldly, ”With you here, how can Mr. Gou manage the company!”

Mo Chengju was completely unaware of having been set up, still chatting with Bai Xiaosheng.

After finishing a pot of tea, he thought of taking Bai Xiaosheng to see the research team and, at the same time, learn about Lai Yin’s Team’s research progress.

Just then, Mo Chengju’s phone rang.

Apologizing to Bai Xiaosheng, Mo Chengju got up to take the call aside.

After just a few words, Mo Chengju’s face changed, exclaiming, ”What! Mr. Gou went to the R&D building! He wants to reorganize the R&D team!”

Mo Chengju’s voice changed.

What he feared most had come to pass! Gou Dahou was finally making a move on the R&D department!

Today, right now!

Urgently speaking into his phone, Mo Chengju said, ”Stall Director Gou by all means! I’m coming right away!”

Speaking quickly, Mo Chengju hung up the phone, hurriedly grabbed his clothes, and said to Bai Xiaosheng, ”Sheng, I need to go handle something!”

”We heard. Can we come with you?” Bai Xiaosheng asked.

”This... alright!” Mo Chengju hesitated briefly, but finally nodded.

After all, he intended to take Bai Xiaosheng and the others over, though the timing was not ideal, but having them follow was fine.

Mo Chengju led Bai Xiaosheng and the others briskly out of the office building toward the R&D building.

Compared to his anxiety, Bai Xiaosheng felt somewhat... happy.

”I didn’t expect the opportunity to poach Mo Chengju would come up today! It’d be great if Qian Bei puts in a bit more effort!”

Bai Xiaosheng felt that this kind of thought made him thoroughly feel like a ”villain,” calculating against someone like Mo Chengju who was so loyal and righteous, and yet he felt glad...

”I’m such a villain, why do I find this so satisfying! It seems I really have become a bad person!”
