Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

Lana Sheffield’s cheeks were burning, and the look in her eyes as she glared at Melody Monroe could have spit fire.

”Lana Sheffield, you don’t need to worry about who my child’s father is! Since you’re already married to President Sterling, a husband and wife should trust each other. If your plot to frame me had succeeded today and my child was labeled as illegitimate, what about your husband? Wouldn’t he be dragged into another scandal with me? People might even suspect my child is connected to him! Is that the outcome you were hoping for?”

”And I have to ask, while you were busy plotting all of this, what consideration did you give to your own child?”

Faced with Melody Monroe’s questions, Lana Sheffield was speechless, the expression on her face a priceless sight.

Eileen Scott opened her mouth to speak, but one glance from Melody Monroe made her immediately shut it.

She didn’t know why, but Melody Monroe’s gaze filled her with a strange sense of fear.

The way the people in the banquet hall looked at Lana Sheffield changed completely; many began to shake their heads. Everyone was condemning her poor character.

The issue of Melody Monroe’s child was quickly forgotten.

Melody Monroe headed for the exit, and Keith Coleman immediately followed.

He was still in shock, having just seen Melody Monroe instantly hypnotize Eileen Scott!

After Melody Monroe left, a dead silence fell over the banquet hall.

”I have to get going.”

”Me too.”

”Same here.”

...

In just ten short minutes, more than half the people in the banquet hall had left.

Those who remained were mostly connected to the Sheffield Family in some way. But as more and more people left, they too started to feel incredibly awkward. In the end, they stopped caring about appearances and also began to take their leave.

Lana Sheffield noticed that the media she had invited were among the first to leave!

”Sis, how come nobody cares about Melody Monroe’s illegitimate child? There’s nothing about it online, either! When Melody Monroe’s sugar daddy finds out she has an illegitimate child and such a sordid past, isn’t he going to dump her?”

Lana Sheffield looked at Eileen Scott. ’How am I supposed to know the answers to that? Who do you expect me to ask?!’

”What was that all about just now!” Lana Sheffield demanded of Eileen Scott.

”I... I...” Eileen Scott couldn’t seem to remember.

It was like she had blacked out for a moment.

”I was staring into Melody Monroe’s eyes, and then... I don’t remember anything. Sis, what happened?”

Lana Sheffield was too angry to speak.

’What’s the use of taking it out on Eileen Scott now!’

’I’ve really suffered a major loss today! Not only did I fail to ruin Melody Monroe, but I also put myself in this humiliating predicament! Now I’m too ashamed to even show my face in public.’

’Thank God Christopher Sterling isn’t here.’

”Ma’am.” A voice called out from behind her.

She spun around to see Christopher Sterling’s assistant standing there. Her heart clenched. She quickly scanned her surroundings, and when she didn’t see Christopher Sterling anywhere, she let out a secret sigh of relief.

”President Sterling is waiting for you outside. He wishes to speak with you. If you’ll please come with me now, Ma’am.”

Hearing this, the color drained from Lana Sheffield’s face. ”When... when did he get here?”

”He saw and heard everything he was supposed to.”

Lana Sheffield turned to Mrs. Sheffield and said, ”Mom, take the child and go home first.”

Christopher Sterling was waiting in the car. Lana Sheffield opened the door and slid into the passenger seat.

”Christopher, listen to me. I really didn’t know anything about this. It was all Eileen Scott’s doing; she arranged it privately. You know her sister is Yasmine Scott. Yasmine begged her for help, and Eileen’s soft-hearted, so she agreed. I only just found out myself and was about to give her a piece of my mind.”

The moment Lana Sheffield got into the car, she started explaining frantically.
